- As a single mother, Sheri Briggs needed a bed for her young son, but no one met her need. So, Sheri started meeting the needs of others. She eventually rented a garage and filled it with donated clothing, furniture, and other essentials and made these free items available to those in need, like Sheri when her little boy needed a bed. Sheri Briggs started Bridge of Hope, which has fed, clothed, and educated thousands of people including refugees from around the world.
But, even though faithful served God by serving others at their point of greatest desperation, still, tragedy struck. Sheri's beloved son, Nathan, died in a diving accident. The body of that once little boy who needed a bed lay in a casket before his grieving mother. Why did this happen? Sheri embarked on a journey of questioning God in an attempt to answer that question. And, then God revealed to her the answer Sheri needed.
In this video Sheri shares about loss and recovery as we tour her amazing facility at Bridge of Hope in San Diego, California. You will see the modest but hugely impactful facilities used to rescue countless children and their families. Innumerable lives have been saved through the ministry of Bridge of Hope. Abused and neglected souls from around the globe attribute their ability to survive to Sheri's wonderful ministry. Please pray for me, my 18 yr old oldest & only son Michael was taken in a vehicle accident last year & I'm struggling mightily. He survived for 4 days & I thought for sure God would give him back to me with a great testimony to carry throughout his life & all these Dr's that I proclaimed my God can & will do the impossible would eat crow. For only his reasons, he decided to keep him. I had him young (19) & he was my best friend. A great student 3.8 GPA athlete at 6'5 285 scholarship to play D1 football in a month before he died. Feels like a cruel, cruel joke. I helped work him back from 2 acl tears & he had a 6 pack was in superb health. Never got in a fight his entire life. A big, but had the kindest soul & eyes. I gave up so much to do the best I could for him. There's just nothing you can do or say. He's in heaven, well I want him here living his life! Giving me grandkids one day. I've seen God's miracles first hand, have been used by God first hand. I feel like I'm not angry he let him die more that he didn't answer my prayers. Ain't that the point of this all. My saviour, redeemer, the one who no matter what is always there & when I needed him most the only time in my life I begged & cried buckets of tears on my face for days without sleeping I just got silence. I even gave my own blood at the hospital for him if only I could of gave my life I'd be the happiest man in the world. But now I'm stuck & feel lost is a understament. So please pray for me if you read this I desperately need it.

I'm Praying for You now 🙏 I said the exact same my nephew should be here living his life but anyone who tastes Heaven and is Euphoric Joy and Splendor don't really want to return. I pray for you, spirit, soul and mind. You have joined a club that No one want to be a member of (parent who lost a child). I hear you and understand. I was 17 when I had my Only son, Victor. February 2001 he turn 18. Our family went to the lake for a family reunion and Victor and Rodney went into the water, Rodney returned, Victor didn’t. I was devastated. I recalled asking God, to please allow me to keep my mind. I’ve known several people who had mental breakdown and I could not go through this for I also had a 6 year old daughter Victoria. Pray daily, read scriptures and listen to worship music. There is stages of grief and it’s ok to allow yourself to go through those stages. May, you hurt less each day. God bless and keep you.

I lost my eldest son to heaven last March,two weeks before his 25th birthday.
I followed the Lord since childhood and felt between millions of other feelings that My Jesus has turned His face on me!But His presence was and is soo faithfully and almost tangible in the mist of my pain!He is right here with me😭and i love Him more now as He has my precious son🙏🏻🙌🙌🙌

I understand you perfectly i lost my first son 11 days after his 20th birthday …. A lost of a child is a Undescribable pain and Shock that dont go you see there picture and your still in Disbelief …All i can say is God is near to those that are broken and He has a Purpose for your pain is just so hard to accept what God has when the pain is so much deeper them anything you can ever imagine
But God will never put is in a situation where he is not with us he lets us go through this painful situation to show that in our weakness He is made strong

I had similar situation with son. God saved from a tragic car accident then he died 5 months later. I prayed for his protection all his life then he still died. He still have my hope in God

My daughter Renee died in a car accident when she was 22. My husband and I clung to the Lord. But there were times in the beginning I felt forsaken and asking why. In time I began to believe it was her time. God bless you!!!

To all the mother's who lost their child! I am deeply sorry for your lost! I can't imagine losing a child. I have a son and daughter! I always worry about my son is not a good feeling! I am praying God keep him in the blood of JESUS Christ protect him!! God loves his children more than we do and we cant understand everything nor will we til the day we die! God is Our refuge our healer. Trust in him always even in the midst of storms trust in him alone! Give thanks to him always..... Praying for all strength, peace, healing and comfort. I can't imagine the pain of Sherri Briggs losing her son like that, what a challenge to her Faith that must have been. Being angry with God over tragedies like that is a normal response of grief, it takes us time to recognize Jesus Christ is our only sanctuary at a time like that. Jesus knew grief, He felt the pain of loss. He understands our hearts better than we do.

That is soooo tragic Sheri. I'm so sorry and my heart goes out to you. I know there are things that happen to us that seemed unjust. But God knows when the timing of things that have a greater purpose than what we can know on this side. I know from my own experience and reading of other people who literally come back from the dead from impossible situations, that we are given a choice on the other side to come back or not. Richard Sigmund talks about his tragic car accident and how his body was so broken up it was nearly impossible to save. But when he came back and chose to return to finish his mission, God began to repair his body on the spot even while he was in the morgue. I am also convinced that when my brother was ill and in a coma, I know he was given a choice and that choice was made before he died. I know these words have no weight to compare to the grief and loss you've had of your son, a beautiful shining light in your life. But I'm sure your son is in heaven doing more there than he ever could here on earth in order to help others and to reign in glory with Christ and God the Father. You have a heart of gold. What you have endured here in the darkness you have turned to light will carry you for eternity in heaven. Thank you Sheri for inspiring others through your tragedy. God bless you dear lady! 🤗😘💖🙏💖🙌

My son Joshua died 7/7/17 from camcer, 3 wks after diagnosis. I was grieving so hard every day. 3 months later, He came to me in a dream. His body was fully restored. He smiled so big and said, "I am happy Mom and so excited." That comforted me so much. Although I have my days and miss him, I do not want him back. I am so excited looking forward to the day it is my time. I will hollar "YE HAW!" on my way out. Your videos have given me so much hope and comfort.I needed a purpose. I am a 72 yr old retired RN, so I have always had that need to help and serve. I bought a metal cabinet with shelves. I spray painted it red and put the letters "Blessing Box on the door. I have an arrangement w a food pantry and every Tuesday, we fill up my van with boxes of left over food. I live a block away from the main street through town where the homeless are. I fill that box as much as 10 times a day with food. People leave donations of clothes and food on my porch, so now I am giving away shoes and clothes also. God took my brokeness and used it to help others.God told me "I did not take your son, I received him."
I hope Christians HEAR this!!!....ppl need PRACTICAL help, not necessarily money. I really suffered and nearly commited suicide. I have a chronic condition, and can't even lift things up. Close to becoming homeless in a very cold climate...just wanted help lifting furniture, helping to clean etc etc. Times I was bedbound, noone to help get me food or meds. Yes, I told them...I got alot of prayer. I am going to a different church...but I will never ask for help again...but I forgive everyone.

You have chosen a hard life to pay off your past karma before your birth.the harder your life is the more karma you will payoff and rise spiritualy.
Jesus paid the price for my sin. Praise God! I am debt free because of His blood that was shed. That is the only way I can stand before God because of what He did, not what I do. That is the miracle of the cross. My good works are not enough to stand before a Holy God! He paid the price for me! It is Him that is Holy and righteous! Jesus was punished that we might be forgiven.
Jesus was made sin with our sinfulness that we might be made righteous with HIS righteousness.
You can know this too! Ask Jesus to become your Lord and Savior and accept this free gift of forgiveness of sins and know today your debt was paid in full and you can be with Him forever in eternity! Alleluia! That is the good news of the gospel for all who believe!

The more of God's work you do, the more the devil will try to destroy you. And life is hard for everyone, no one escape suffering until we go to heaven through Jesus our Savior.
That is not true. Believe some are having it easy here on earth and it makes me wonder why certain people have it easy and why some people suffer. I guess we will know when we die. I've just had enough of life...so tired and drained. I just say to myself did I come here on earth to endure pain..was that my purpose cos it doesn't make sense

Heaven is our home! Every tear will be wiped away. No more death or dying!! Why did He say that? Because He knows how truly painful it is. We are His kids. Made in His image! He knows our pain. Oh I completely understand. It’s so unbelievably painful and so hard to be able to understand, which I don’t think we will until we are with them again in Heaven . I walked through that too, and for a while but He kept assuring me He was always close and understood everything I was feeling. He stayed close to me through the shock and all that I had to face and was forced to endure. God showed me and told me He is with me and I began to see that He didn’t keep me from this, but walks closely by my side through it. He was the only one who truly could. My heart began to open and trust again, and even more than before my son died. It took some time, but He is truly faithful and patient and carries our deepest wounds.

We couldn't believe it ,terrified JESUS JESUS JESUS active duty navy soldier! O my lord only God can heal our souls broken heart 💔 I asked I want to see him I was swiftly taken 2 HEAVEN I saw my son he was fully dressed in uniform I saw him he hugged me spoke 2 me telepathically said mom dont cry I'm fine I could hear and feel his heart beating I saw JESUS the whole heavens so bright EVERYTHING alive extremely BEAUTIFUL bright colors! Om JESUS I saw people working BUILDING too my son said mom I'm not kicking back here he was working helping construct homes or mansions wow what a MIGHTY GOD We serve!!!!! I stay busy reaching out to others working PRAYER groups JESUS is alive and well he said I'll see you soon mom 1 day is like 1000 I do get VIVID dreams VISIONS transported the word of God says in book of Joel these things shall follow the believer! Life in the SPIRIT Roman's 8 whole chapter! 8;28 I saw in a dream XXOOO . Remember Romans. 10:9

I felt the same way my wife was miraculously healed from lupus in her early twenties something the doctor said could not happen she got cancer when she was 54 years old we prayed and believed with all of our heart she would be healed and everytime she would go back to the doctor we were expecting the doctors to say it was gone but it wasn't and when she wasn't healed I felt the same way this lady did I felt like I lost my wife and Jesus because we trusted and believed so much that she would be healed I was totally devastated felt like I had my heart ripped from my chest I could have said there is no God or he would not have let this happen but I didn't because I had had a experience that wasn't of This World With Jesus when I was 21 years old I knew that Jesus was pure love and he wasn't behind this like her I prayed a million times why did this happen Lord I got no answer but God has given me dreams since I was 30 years old from him I seen her twice when I looked into her eyes I seen peace like I never seen in my life I knew she was fine but I still wasn't God gave me dream After Dream he showed me things about people that was going to happen people that I had not a clue I would call them up and give them the word of the Lord for their situation and the things he showed me was spot on I seen Heaven returning to Earth that beautiful golden City it was somewhere in space I seen beautiful stars everywhere heaven was headed this way beautiful golden buildings tall buildings inside of a city with walls the whole city radiated a golden hue it was so beautiful I don't know exactly where it was but I do know it was on its way back to Earth instantly I was transferred out of that dream I was transferred into a church it looked like a Catholic Church a lot of leaded stained glass even though I'm not sure the pews were torn up off of the floor the floor was all dug up broken Pottery was everywhere every once in awhile I would see a whole piece of pottery I asked God what is this he said these pieces of pottery you see or the people that came through this church they were lied to but they are finding out the truth many people are not getting the truth of the word of God but God is raising up evangelist to do this work
If we can all think like this we will all make it in Heaven in Jesus Name 🙏, feeding the hungry .
I use to free dive, when i was Nate`s age, up to 100 feet. I'm trying to understand what happened. I know of accidents that happen while spear fishing and free diving or when a current is involved, which can cause delayed retrieval. I once placed my hand next to an eel (i didn't see it) and they can bite into you and hold you under as they are entwined around coral or rocks, or you can simply miss-time your ascent and pass out before reaching the surface, but there are precautions which make that unlikely and wouldn't explain the trouble retrieving. I know it’s not the point of the testimony here, but it had a personal impact on me because of my past love of free diving. Its very peacful and silent and free under the water without diving equipment. I never dove Mexico, though. What a strong mother she is.

SHORT STORY.....IT IS SATURDAY NIGHT JAN 29TH, 22022.....ABOUT 20-30 YEARS AGO,.. I WAS FLYING COLORS WITH CMA {CHRISTIAN MOTOR CYCLE ASSOCIATION} IN FT. LAUDERDALE FLORIDA.... FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DONT KNOW WHAT "COLORS" ARE,..IT IS THE LOGO AND NAME OF OUR CLUB.....I WAS WALKING BACK TO MY HARLEY WITH SOME FRIENDS WHEN THIS VERY ANGRY LADY CAME UP TO ME AND I QUOTE "WHERE WAS GOD WHEN MY SON DIED?"..I WAS SHOCKED AND UNPREPARED TO GIVE AN ANSWER....MIND YOU THIS WAS 20-30 YEARS AGO,.... BUT THE MOMENT IS TODAY STILL FRESH INSIDE MY MIND BACK THEN AS IT IS TODAY.... A FRIEND NEAR ME STATED "YOU SHOULD HAVE TOLD HER THAT THE LORD-GOD, IS EXCATLY WHERE YOU ARE RIGHT NOW,...... WHEN HIS SON DIED"....I WILL NEVER FORGET HER WORDS......

Isreal as been and still very much is God's people. And Abraham the father of all the faith. In Jesaja 53 God's speak about Jesus being the returning King Jesus Christ.

except if given a choice, we would so much rather have the Lord restore and protect than to just walk us through tragedy, Given a choice, to be honest most us would choose protection and restoration and tolerate not knowing if God was walking closer to us or not. WE just want HIm to end the pain, Why sometimes he does heal and protect and sometimes He doesnt is very very confusing, ITs hard to feel the the Lord is with you when you are in so much pain. .To go even further ,when we re told he is with us, its seems almost grievous that He cant or doesnt seem to do anything to change our situation or make it better.,even tho He is there, This is the hardest aspect of faith.Sometimes a loss doesn't even involve sickness or death, yet is just as tragic. Yet resolution doesn't t come, or may come but we wont know when.That is the hardest aspect of keeping faith.
Thank you so much for sharing. Yes I agree, none of us want to experience pain and tragedy. But as believers, we ask God to increase our faith. My husband and I just got through being really sick with Covid pneumonia. I was feeling weary and confused about it all as you were saying. I opened up to
a devotion from Charles Spurgeon that really encouraged me. Here is a part of what He shared: “Look at the old oaks. How did they become so deeply rooted? The March winds will tell you. It was not the April showers or the sweet May sunshine that caused the roots to wrap around the rock. It was the rough, boisterous north winds of March shaking the trees.
God is love. But We live in a fallen world. He takes the things we go through and the things Satan means for evil and turns them for good.
