Nah Eddie messed up if that was his game plan. Next has episodes for Gay men too and if he joined that bus and it didn't work out with the contestant he could of find someone else in the bus group. Also all the men on that bus are straight so Eddie wouldn't have gone far lol
Best thing about this era was everyone embraced their own individuality, quirks and all. Most people on TV nowadays feel copy-pasted. Also, did 2000s TV look like this? Like damn, how long have I been alive?

Ok these MTV dating shows were my jam! I loved watching this, room raiders, parental control (which was my favorite) I love how a lot of RUclipsrs are talking about these shows now and it’s giving me a good kick right in the nostalgia
early 2000's shows were so good, maybe it just because I was living the good life or I was a kid. But Chappelle Show, Code Lyoko, Wildin Out, Next, Pimp My Ride, Spongebob, Drake and Josh etc. Having cable was top tier. I could only watch these during the summer since I visited my grandparents and they would have cable. Fond memories.
Back then no one gave a f and it was so much harder to be on tv or be seen by hundreds or even thousands of people that it doesn’t compare. Back then it was the best feeling in the world to be on TV it would make you feel like a king amongst your groups haha now people are just numb to it and are not as socially calibrated as 10-15 years ago
It still is Mike, it's just popular culture is trash now or at least it seems like trash to me(perhaps yourself as well) because I I'm an 80s baby and grew up in the 90s and back then gay jokes and off-color racial jokes were still somewhat the order of the day, MTV played actual music for a large part of it's inception i remember Ed lover and Dr Dre YO MTV raps is iconic to me. What do they have now? Anyways I'm old.. *yells at abandon shopping cart*
I was acting at that time and my so called agent tried to get me to go on the show Next. I respectfully declined because I knew it would be an embarrassing moment that I would haunt me 😂😂😂
I remember this show I will never forget this one black guy who walked up to the girl saying next and as he became closer he started barking aggressively like a rabid dog and he actually scared the girl and she was all confused and he goes “I was just trying to break the ice” long pause…..NEXT!
This made me realize I was sometimes one hell of a mean guy. The only thing thing that made me watch this show was the "next" yell, the face of the rejected one so I could laugh hard at their disgrace.
This was on the same time Room Raiders aired. Ha. I always wondered why everyone stood by like it was normal to get kidnapped in your house. Didn't stop me from watching though. It cracked me up.
@6:24 actually it's Vin Diesels origin story. After she broke his heart, those guys on the bus consoled him and they all bonded and became..... family.
One of my friends, Brett, was on this show back in the day (I think he's 37 now?) Anyway, he's a real character and got nexted right after he got off the bus.
I think Eddie was just acting gay for the show(could actually be, who cares) throwing subtle hints that the audience would pick up on. Meshes well with the obvious corny theme of the show
me and a friend were working a clothing stand in venice beach and we "cat called" a lady walking by and she was a casting agent for MTV and she gave us a card to go audition for date my mom lol neither of us got chosen but it was a funny experience
Back when the acting wasn’t staged even for a reality show, their wasn’t any be with him until this moment then break his heart for the audience. More content on this show would be greatly appreciated bro!
Damn you really just wrote a whole paragraph about how the good old days werent staged while gay boy in the episode is definitely acting gay on purpose
I loved that show Parental Control. I remember one episode the sons girlfriend was nice and polite and sweet, but his parents hated her cuz she was ugly 😭😭😭😭
