The bridal box is my favorite. It is so romantic and beautiful! I love the Wedgwood one, too, but something about the bridal box touches me. Thanks for sharing all three with us. You are so talented! Enjoyed!
Thanks so much Sarah. Yes, it is romantic. My granddaughter loves princess stories and likes to dress up like one. She may steal this box when she sees it. Have a great week!
Thanks so much Rosemary. I hope you have a blessed day, too. I am working on my next video and hoping to start another tomorrow. I am trying to have an extra one ready so I don't feel so rushed sometimes. I think you will love the next one coming up.
Oh Myra, I love all of these! My niece just got married last month so I don’t think it’s too late to make her one. I just need to find a box! The hunt is on! Have a marvelous Monday! ❤
That would be perfect. I’m sure you can find a box at the thrift stores. This one was not deep though. It would only work for cards and little things. Have a fabulous day!💕💕💕
Thanks so much sweet friend. I like the colors on the Bridal box. I thought about sharing a pic of my wedding but I sure looked different then. I am working hard on a new video and hoping to get another one started tomorrow. I have started keeping the girls 3x a week for the summer. Whew, less time to craft and sleep until after Labor Day. I am definitely going to need a trip to Knoxville for a vacation this summer. Love you
Thanks so much Magali for watching. I went thrifting today and found some more of those book looking boxes. That will be a fun project too. Have a great week!
All those boxes turned out so pretty Myra!!! Of course I loved the garden box because of the rustic feel to it lol, I also love those seed packets with the thread spools!! Great video!! 😊💖
Hey Shelley, thanks so much. I’ve got a video I’m working on that has some things you might like. It involves burlap. But, shhh…don’t tell. I want to show how to make the spools soon. I didn’t want the video too long so I’ll do that soon. Have a fabulous day!💕💕💕
They're all nice boxes! My favorite was the Wedgewood Box. I have one piece that was given to me from my parents. It's a little ornament that is special.
Myra, I like all the boxes. I'm actually working on cigar boxes now. Turning them into sewing boxes for my Mom and Sister. These are great and they're so versatile. Look forward to next video. Take care😊
Hey Theresa, thanks so very much. I have a cameo ring that I don’t wear anymore. But with paint and glue as part of my wardrobe all the time, I only wear rings to church. I’m hoping my granddaughters will treasure one day. Hope you have a wonderful week 💕💕💕
I really like your uses of cigar boxes . A very close friend of mine made purses out of cigar boxes. She lined the inside with pretty cloth and put hinges and a latch on the to, if they didn't have them. Also she attached a shoulder strap/chain to carry the purse. She sold them on commission at a large department store.
Another fabulous video, Myra! All three boxes turned out so beautifully, but I would have to say the Wedgwood box is my favorite! It truly looks like Wedgwood! I just picked up some old boxes from the thrift store to redo, so I may be stealing some of your ideas! 😊 Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Oh thanks Lori. I think the best compliment is that it really does look like Wedgewood. Steal away friend. I know yours will turn out beautiful. You have a great weekend, too.
I love all three of the boxes you made. Would you ever consider making a cigar box into a small sewing box? I just found your video. I am so delighted by it that I simply had to subscribe. Thank you for the inspiration. 😊
I use to collect China tea cups. My favorite were ones are with small flowers inside the cup to give you a extra surprise when you drank your (coffee) . The old Gift Corner in Kannapolis had wonderful selections. Also years ago I found a china store in Pidgeon Forge and picked up others.
Oh Lynda, don't you just love those little touches. Years ago, I would go to Kannapolis to the Cannon Mill Outlet store. I have not been up there since they added the baseball stadium. I hear it is gorgeous up there. There is also a place on the other side of Greensboro called Replacements where you can find china, but it is not thrift shop store prices.
These boxes are all stunning. I can’t pick a favourite but I really love the one with the vegetables on. I just did a box for my granddaughter but it certainly didn’t look like one of yours. I was very disappointed in mine, I don’t have much space to make anything and it looked pretty amateurish to me but she loved it. It was harder than I imagined with a tiny bit of space. I live with my grandson and he doesn’t own a dining table so I couldn’t even use that space. I guess the more I do the better they will look though. I didn’t have much confidence or many items to put on there. I did enjoy making it though, and my clay pieces worked out lovely. I used roses as that is her name. I love the idea of a wedding box, it’s beautiful but unfortunately the only good memory I’d put it in is my divorce papers, as it was the happiest day of my life, that’s a bit sad isn’t it lol, but it’s true.
Hello friend, when we craft with love, it’s always perfect. I’m hard on myself, too. I’m glad your clay turned out well and how appropriate. It will be a life long treasure for her. And who knows, she may follow in your footsteps and become a crafter. I hesitated about mentioning marriage memorabilia as I know not everyone is married. I had a cheap little bracelet my mom bought me when I was young. Amazingly it didn’t turn green. I wore it on my wedding day and passed it to my daughter the day she married. I did a scrapbook a few years back with my wedding pics and such. So all my little things are in that. I hope you have a awesome week. I’m working on my next video and super excited. I think you’ll like it. Sending a hug to you sweet friend 💕💕💕
My fav is the bridal box followed by the seed box. My question is this…I got some wooden cigar boxes. But they had shiny embossed paper glued on them from the cigar manufacturer. I tried to get the paper off and in the process, the boxes absorbed some water and would no longer close properly. Even the water from the paint did that. How do you avoid that problem? I would love to use cigar boxes because I enjoy making special boxes as gifts.
Oh gosh Lisa, that is the biggest struggle. I won't say I have the right answer but when I am painting them, I try to keep the lid closed as much as I can, so the hinges don't get stretched out too much. When you are painting the parts that touch when it closes, just use one very light coat of paint. And the extra paper, argh!! I use a paint scraper very carefully to get it off. I have sometimes used a double layer of paper towels that is wet and let it just sit on the paper. Sometimes it helps to soften the glue enough to get it off. And if it still shows through, you could add some texture to the paint by adding some baking soda. But I don't have an easy answer. Have a fabulous day!
@@farmfreshdesigns59 thank you so much for the ideas! And for validating it’s an ongoing g problem and not just me! 🤪. I appreciate you! Great tutorial.
