“Decayed” is the herb modifier to watch out for. That shit will kill you VERY quickly if you don’t take steps to purge it. Fortunately, it’s not very common and is mostly only encountered near the decay gnolls area. Unfortunately, the graphic indicator is easier to miss, so if you are running around hitting the interaction key as soon as you get in range, you can easily get caught off guard by why you are suddenly taking massive stacking damage.
Hazel’s content is a breath of fresh air. If I want a positive pick-me-up I just watch her stream or RUclips videos! I haven’t leveled very far in the expansion yet but so far so good.
First thing I did at 70 was getting the dragonflying tokens. Damn it really changes up the whole way of moving around! I can stay in the air 100% of the time now!
You perfectly articulated how I feel, I was so fried by what to do once I hit 70. Really wanted to use my time efficiently but there's so much choice! A good problem to have!
Launch day was wild. There we were, hundreds of us, crammed onto the zeppelin from Orgimmar. It would cast off, we would hit the loading screen for five minutes, and BOOM. We all spawn at the Orgimmar graveyard. Happened three times before people started to get through. Good times.
I've very much enjoyed taking my time leveling spread generously across a lot of exploration, side questing and gathering, I have really enjoyed this expansion so far.
I ended up only being able to play Classic for the first few days because Area 52 was a hot mess. Moved to a low pop server and been loving DF so far. Maybe half way through the first zone and got REALLY into professions and getting my head around the new changes. "Yeah yeah, Alex is hurt, but there is a molten draconium ore deposit over here and I'm gonna grab that."
Enjoying the expansion so far. Like a lot of the quality of life changes they've added since pre-expansion too. My only gripe, and it's one I never wished to have as much as I have this expansion is the quest log. They need to increase the amount of quests you can hold onto. I was finishing quests and getting 2-3 follow ups and not wanting to drop ones I was going to do next. Or I didn't want to have to fly all the way across the zone or continent to turn in finished ones, then fly all the way back since I was right there to do them. I think 40 quests would be nice. I ended up dropping dungeon quests knowing I wasn't doing them at the moment. But now I worry about where they all came from to go get them before doing those dungeons.
Im lvl 66 and i love it so far! For me its about the joy you get from flying around, explore the world, slowly i will reach lvl 70 and finish the campaign. And then im gonna collect some mounts😇
I'm so happy you're enjoying DF. I'm loving it too!! So true about not wanting to drop a quest, my log became full fast and half way through the campaign I went back to the starting zone and finished up the quests, didn't want to miss anything, lol. Right I'm working on the dragon flying world tour and then finishing the campaign and I'll be 70 by then. Thank you for your video!!
Seriously people, get the dragonriding glyphs. I didn't realize how slow it is without it. Now I can basically fly across the whole map without taking a break (unless I need to go over big mountains).
Dragonflight as for now is really a candidate to be one of the best if not the best expansion ever made. (120% personal impression). I love this kind of wow :)
fully agree man! even though the only expansions i have played is SL BFA, a little bit of legion and WotLK. this is by far the most fun i have had out of all those experiences so far
I've felt so overwhelmed after 70,, this video was so helpful and I don't feel rushed at all! Trying to enjoy the expansion at my own rate 💛 thanks hazel
wow i was literally thinking of this, this morning and i'm in the same boat if figuring out the most efficient use of my small amount of time I have to play.
I dont know if youll ever see this but i have you dbm voice enabled and in one of the fights in the new raid the words YOU SHOULD REALLY KICK THAT is now engrained into my conscious. Still love it!
I also made the unexpected decision to Main a Preservation Evoker! I was going to Main a healer for this patch anyway, but I started messing around with my new Dracthyr and I love it.
I do all the quests on my main as I go through each zone - trying to "clear" it. And I'm also getting the glyphs and doing the races once before leaving. I just found out that new quests pop up later as you go up in renown - went back to Waking Shores to turn in an artifact and had a cute mini chain with kids - so much for clearing a zone 😆But good if this continues so you have things to do/reasons to return to zones at max level. I am only in the second zone - pretty sure I will hit level 70 before I get to Azure Span haha (currently 65 about to hit 66 and left Waking Shore at lv 64 just shy of 65) as I am in no hurry. I still find dragonriding aggravating/annoying at times but it's not the end of the world. Overall, solid expansion and engaging quests in the zones.
I am currently sick and have a lot of time on my hands to actually play WoW. But now I have the dilemma to actually find some quality time to sleep during the day so I get better sooner but... it hooked me. A lot. And that is something WoW hasn't done in a while for me. I love it so far. I took my time leveling and just hit 70 yesterday and now I'm running around a bit headless bc I can do sooo many things xD
Your video is spot on. I felt all the things you did exactly. Overwhelmed at 70 what was important etc. I did work out all the content that you mention but it took a lot of time. Professions were complex and I was not sure what to specialise in. I'm 365 item level which is ok for raid I'll get some mythic 0 next week I expect. 10 out of 10 for dragonflight and I loved being able to fly whilst leveling which is a first for wow. Got fishing up to max and enchanting and alchemy to 50 for now. I also was going back to the dragonflight trainer before I worked out you can put points into it anywhere. I do love talent respecing and I have a second toon levelved my gatherer. Two days to level comfortably about 20 hours sounds right which is a nice change. Oh it should be said that Alts Don't have to discover glyphs but you can use talents right away. You can also skip profession quests on alts and get the materials if you speak to an npc at the Ruby place. Thanks for the video it makes me feel I'm not the only one feeling overwhelmed well at least at first.
I am will you 100% on dragon riding. I was worried it would be hard and annoying but once you have all the glyphs and it fully upgraded its actually the best.
Oh man the dungeons. I got to 70 without doing any of the dungeons, just questing and professions. First one I tried out was Nokhud Offensive, ngl my mind was blown when I realized you were supposed to FLY around the instance.
I also sat on the Alchemy sidelines for a couple days, also lost some progress due to the knowledge orbs not adding to my level :( Edit: love the epic christmas sweater
I've had SO MUCH FUN playing preservation evoker. I was a H pally for so long but I'm really enjoying this class! And yes healing dungeons is so fun right now (except hall's M0). ^-^
Gosh you are overwhelmed, I just wanted to try playing game for a month, I fell in love with dragon riding, only thing I have been doing is riding my dragon 😅
I've taken this game so slow this expansion that I'm literally 68 in the Ohn'ahran Plains and I intend on finishing the last 2 zones before doing anything at 70. Still have to find the last few glyphs since I'm doing it by exploring.
I’m only lvl 65 almost 66, and I completed Ohn’ahran Plains yesterday. Collected about half the dragon glyphs while I was doing the main story campaign because they were on the way so to speak 😊
I had so much fun with dragon riding racing that I did the advanced courses gold achievement first thing after the campaign. from now on those are the best world quests ever :D
Another route and the way I chose to level is I immediately got 100 fishing obviously that’s not going to be everybody’s jam. Spent 1 hour getting glyphs. Ignored campaign, completed Sojourner and all side quests. Then I finished campaign for The Waking Shores. I did the same for the other zones. Sojourner before Campaign. The amount of rep and armour and resources, pets and toys I got was so much more rewarding for me than rushing to mythic+ It took me 4 days to get 70 and I got loremaster of Dragon Flight. I finished all of that without doing a single mythic and I had 360 item level. Obviously this is a play style not everyone would enjoy but access to rep armour and recipes so fast and quest lines with higher rep was immensely more valuable than getting an Ilvl sooner than later that I’ll end up getting regardless! So for those who don’t like mythics or raids! There’s hope!
Your videos are great, keemp em coming! You're a font of knowlegde and entertaining. There is so much to do. I think the first thing to do is be gear ready for raid night (whatever that is), then dragonriding collecting rare bosses, resources then campaign, and then ... lol. There's so much to do and engineering looks interesting this expansion. Looking forward to your guides!
The boat chaos is just part of the launch day charm, i did a /yell on the first boat saying if this works, expansion ruined. Instantly got 10 'your fault' whispers when it booped us all back to Org 🤣
I would trade the spiffy 'speed' lines and an apparent boost to speed for the full control of the now older flying mechanic that includes the ability fly at will and to hover.
My BM hunter got to 70 first with my preservation Evoker not far behind. I agree, they are a blast to play. I've done a few dungeons healing with her and it's been interesting.
Yo, I had very smooth gameplay since it started, boat came in straight away, got to the island and leveled just fine. Few delays by a bit higher ping, but usually just fine. I guess it was depending on a server. But overall, this is so far my fav. DLC.
Same, the only glitch for me was that the boat was an hour late, and that didn't feel like an issue at all. I mean not the first time in my life public transportation has been delayed lol.
I took the week off of work. Got all my mythic 0’s done, loremaster done, all of the weekly lockout stuff done. Now I’m just grinding Wrathion rep towards that 398 cloak.
3:03 I kinda freaked myself out when I started specc’ing into the first two specializations in tailoring only to realize all the guides recommend going with the other 2 to unlock patterns to level off so now I’m stuck waiting on getting patterns from renown but overall I still like it a lot.
There really should be a respec option for professions. Making it easy would certainly be bad, but that's an easy fix. Just make the respec tokens really expensive to get after the first one and also on a really long cooldown. Say, 250K gold and a month long CD. Or just flat limit it to a single respec per profession per character.
Honestly I'm loving having so much to do. I recently got that secret Sylvern mount and I'm currently working on the Magmashell snail mount which requires a little bit of grinding but it's not too bad
Instead of HandiNotes to find the glyphs I recommend tracking the achivement in game. I found that to be more fun because I had to actually search for them but I still knew the general area to fly around in.
I didn't go out and find all the remaining glyphs until I was 70. What's the problem with them showing up? Do you mean they kill you? Turn off war-mode. Plus you're flying around to acquire them. Even if war-mode is on I don't see how others in the area would be an issue.
I seem to be one of the few people that isn't really fond of flying in dragonflight. it's nice if you want to get somewhere fast, but it's just a hinderance when trying to fly around looking for mining nodes or something of the sort. Stop and go flying is something you just can't do with a flight system built on momentum. (and yes, I have ALL of my glyphs)
Thank you for saying "an hour" (5:45). The WoW content creator community massively understates the expected time it takes to accomplish tasks. Stating "an hour" sets more reasonable expectations.
No time gating? There is some time gating related to dragonriding. If you are at a point and going to fly to your next place and at the start you have to use 3 to 4 og the elevation abilities just to get over a mountain and then flat out surfing to your destination, there is a big chance that you have to stop and wait for the abilities recharge before you can continue. You need speed to get to where you want and you need to fly at a fast speed for the abilities to recharge or you need to stop and wait for the recharge. if your destination is on the other side of the map then you will most likely have to stop and wait 2 minutes before you can continue. Have had this a couple of times and it is annoying. Wish we could choose between dragonriding and the old way of flying as sometimes the old way is better.
literally got my copy last night, so i been hustlin' and bustlin' to play catch up, want to get my alts to Valdrakken so they can start crafting and stuff, just got my Dragon and i'm level 62 in the first zone. gonna watch some more videos and log right back in.
Evoker preservation guide pls, I also went from gnome spriest to Evoker! Well devastation anyway. Fingers crossed for gnome visage options down the line
Question. @hazelnuttygames have you done a guide on the leather working profession? I have got to level 50 but am having a hard time finding where to go now and get new patterns so I can keep leveling up. Any help will be greatly appreciated and thank you for all your amazing work on your videos you are very helpful and thoughtful and fun to watch.
Dragon gliding is fun, like my mount ate a over dose or speed. What I wish is I could use dragon gliding when I need to cover lots of distance, but use flight form when herding or trying to move up and down and can't jump up without first positioning myself and planning my hoops I'm gonna fall turn away, land, wait for vigor regeneration then try try again. I'm not more than marginally able to get close by hops that would be fast enough or faster with flying. Bliz just needs to turn on both now, not in 10.4.5 patch, let me choose in all azeroth
I’m not sure if you’re going to answer question next week…but Question: can you show us your preservation talents? I just want to compare what we have and maybe you can break down why you took what you took? I’m really loving temporal anomaly but every guide I’ve read says don’t take it 😂.
I would like to see that too! There's a real (understandable) shortage of build discussion and I much prefer to use those players who have a more comprehensive understanding of the game as a jumping off point to building my own. I'm not a dumb person but trying to piece together exactly how every talent works in each situation is a little tiring lol.
I 100% agree im totally the same. Just because I can read a talent and understand how it works doesn't mean it’s good. Every spec or class I play there are times where I’m like “I really enjoy the sound of that talent and I really want to play around with it” then I read icy veins and it’s like “that talent is garbage and dead and should never be used”. I wonder how much of that is min/maxing and how much of it is truly the truth. With the new talents I thought there would just be a ton of viable options and builds. Yet it seems there is really 1-2 good choices for every spec. So I really just wanted Hazel to give some of her advice and talk about she likes so I can use person xp into making my build
I feel like if you are overwhelmed, I have no chance! I do like your reassuring message but as I age I definitely feel a bit left behind in WoW. I can't compete with WCL in classic and so decided to jump back into retail and now, nothing makes sense!
Ok I’m just gonna say, I’m glad I’m not the only one!!! The professions seems so convoluted and confusing! And then they buff things like perception and other terms that have literally never been used in WoW!!
I did the Storyline + Obtional Quests in the first area and got lvl 65 already.. Halfway through the 2nd area I was already 68. I know many people just do the storyline to get to 70, but I like to do all quests available on my main/first character I level in a new expansion. Of course that gives me plenty of bonus GOLD to complete everything at 70 in the other areas. WoW disappointed me for the last few expansions and Shadowlands I got lvl 60 with in the first 24 hours and after the 1st week I didn't play it for over a year before I returned and haven't missed much. So with Dragonflight I am taking it easy and I want to do anything possible. (I don't Raid or do Mythic+ cause I don't like it anymore. Only enjoyed Raiding in Vanilla, WotLK and MoP)
It’s been a nice and long time coming change of pace to hit max level and just….. do what I think is fun? Everything offers pretty good rewards and while there are certainly some min maxing aspects of the gearing process, they aren’t to the degree of legendaries in shadowlands and don’t matter too much unless you’re pushing for fast raid clears. As a casual, as I believe most of us are now that we’re old and sad, I’m happy to be off of my blizzard leash.
And you wanna do the campaign, and you wanna do the side quests, and you wanna do the dragon riding, and you wanna get the dragon glyphs, and oooh! Look! An herb!. Very that. I'm level 66, and I'm thinking I'm not even close to finishing the campaign yet. :) Having fun!
Hi I just wanted to say I found your channel the other day and I’m so grateful that I found it I love watching you and your videos I’m loving the new wow expansion except dragon-flying I’m haven’t quite got the hang of it yet lol
Doing dungeons is great right now but just a little PSA for all my tanks out there: remember that we are in the beginning of Dragonflight, not the end of Shadowlands. Not only do people not know the dungeons but nobody has the gear for you to do giant pulls. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for wall to wall pulls, but let's hold off on that until everybody has a bit of raid or m+ gear. Your healer will thank you. :')
Hazel mentioned that flower that kills you and yep, hear that. On my mage I found that Ice Block will save me. But the my other clothie is out of luck for now :)
I just hit 70 late last night and the first thing I'm going to do is take this weekend off from WoW 😂. I've been playing so much I need a tiny break! But starting next week I plan on starting with the side quests while I do dungeons to gear up. I can't wait to explore every nook and crannie now that I'm not focusing on the main storyline!
Yeah that covered in decay DoT is lethal. 2 min duration, can’t remove (you can’t jump enough in time) and 30,000 damage a second. I have about 130,000 health, so even with prismatic barrier, healing potions, and even ice block … it’s a death sentence
I don't know how other people think about it, but I am happy with the Ichabod promotion. It allow us to show a little extra direct support for the creators who have been keeping this community alive for the past 18 years. As a pet hoarder, I'd rather put some cash into your channel than buy another one off the online store. I hope they continue to run promos like this. And now that TCG loot is coming back, I hope they also bring back some of that early Blizzcon loot that most of us missed, like the Lil Tyrael.
I'm with you. "Gear you can get anytime: flowers are valuable now!" On that note, do you know where I can find Frozen Saxifrage and Titan-touched Bubble Puppy? I've found all other herbs except those and I'd love to have those last 2 knowledge points.
I think that the ability to reset profession spec points should be available but with a cooldown, for example 1 or 2 weeks. I agree that changing it freely would be very bad, but being unable to change them at all is equally bad. It's not immediately obvious that there's no way to reset points. There might be an alert, but as with most alerts, clicking 'accept' without truly understanding is a likely happening. For example, when you were buying a unique-equipped Shadowland crafted item, there was a 5 second countdown before you could click accept. It's possible to spend points in the base spec, then unlock subspecs, and spend a bunch of points in subspecs and never reach the end of any specific spec for a long time. Considering that there's significantly more to understand about professions now compared to previous expansions, locking people into their spec choice without offering a way out is very frustrating.
Hazel, Please keep up on the timeline for implementing flying mounts in DF and let us know when it is due. In the meantime, I'm going to go play No Man's Sky for a few weeks. I have no interest in the flying mini-game that is DR and playing DF on the ground is an exercise in frustration, so peace out.
On top of the activities I mentioned in this video, killing Rares across the Dragon Isles is another great source of gear! They're a once-per-day lockout and addons like Handynotes or TomCat's Tours can mark their spawn locations on your map.

But I've been everywhere doing everything. Rock climbing. Races. Photography trips. Some rares to get mounts. Loooooord Hazel what are we gonna do 😆 🤣
omg theres so much to do, i spent all of sat just making tools for my alts.
Dragon glyphs are added to your alts riding chart, 1 chart 1 time collection
You should paint your nails with the 5 Dragon Aspect colors to go with the theme of the expansion! :P
The most relaxed and relatable guide on "what to do after hitting level 70". Thanks for making this hazel.
I did just the campaign and dungeons related to it to lvl 70 and now I'm doing all the side quests while I explore the world. Having lots of fun so far on this expansion.
I’m slowly levelling through all those quests: you’re going to have some more fun 😁
I'm just starting the third area and I'm already lvl 68+

I absolutely loved Taivan story! I wish I had Taivan mount- he is such a good boy and such a great size!
He shows up when you are taking photos on the raft, think he’ll be a reoccuring character :)
yeah I loved it as well, such a nice payoff!
Taivan is my heeeerrroooo!!

you can clear the dot :)
Rogues can use Cloak of shadows to remove the debuff, and dwarves have that ironskin (or whatever it's called) racial that clears it to

" jumping into water will remove the debuff" /jaw drops Huh! Well then.

The boat watch was actually enjoyable, I was there waiting 3000 years ago in the fires of mount doom
I really love that you acknowledge how overwhelming it is... I hit 70 and scurried back to old content because it scared me !
I relate!

Tip: DMF is tomorrow. If you complete the weekly quests and/or have rep tokens dont turn them in until you go get the rep buff!
Oh man the dungeons.
I got to 70 without doing any of the dungeons, just questing and professions. First one I tried out was Nokhud Offensive, ngl my mind was blown when I realized you were supposed to FLY around the instance.
I started Evoker, and I do like Evoker, but I can't take the visuals of the Dracthyr, so I leveled to 68 and switched lol.
I also sat on the Alchemy sidelines for a couple days, also lost some progress due to the knowledge orbs not adding to my level :(
Edit: love the epic christmas sweater
I LOVE how many things are account wide in Dragon Flight it's going to make leveling my alts a joy.
Thank you for another nice video. The tip on spending dragon glyph is very nice. It was a hassle to keep flying back to the dragon trainers lol.
The amount of rep and armour and resources, pets and toys I got was so much more rewarding for me than rushing to mythic+
It took me 4 days to get 70 and I got loremaster of Dragon Flight.
Omg the amount of times I opened the renown menu and looked at dragon riding and still went back to the dragonriding trainer hahahaha :D
DLC.
Agreed. No issues other than the boat and the smooth expansion I've ever witnessed. Player since vanilla.
Same, the only glitch for me was that the boat was an hour late, and that didn't feel like an issue at all. I mean not the first time in my life public transportation has been delayed lol.
@@curiousabout1 :D
Just hit 70 yesterday, it is so confusing... ooo and potions that blow up errrr, thank you for the guide it was helpful
Yea it was fun at first but got annoying watching 70s popping up everywhere and you 64
I didn't go out and find all the remaining glyphs until I was 70.
I think it hard to fly with the dragon sometimes does not stay flying for a long time it takes a while to regain control again thanks Paul.
I received a herbalism quest to gather Rank 2 writhebark.... talk about scouring the forests like a crazy lol
It's nice to sit down and catch up :)
literally got my copy last night, so i been hustlin' and bustlin' to play catch up, want to get my alts to Valdrakken so they can start crafting and stuff, just got my Dragon and i'm level 62 in the first zone. gonna watch some more videos and log right back in.
you're experience matches mine regarding dragon riding, professions etc. Ordinary flying mounts feel very boring now.
Evoker preservation guide pls, I also went from gnome spriest to Evoker! Well devastation anyway. Fingers crossed for gnome visage options down the line
Super helpful video Hazel, I too am WAY busy picking plants to stress over gear, lol.
Lol I did know about the DR glyph button :P I always went back to the trainer XD Thanks for the info !
Great video can't wait to play it got the collecters edition for Christmas, keep up the great content hope you have a merry Christmas 🎅
I hit 70 in the middle of 2nd region. I was honestly surprised how fast it happened and how much I still had to do.
LOVE the sweater
Thanks! That was a useful and fun Saturday update. I love the sweater.
So far I'm loving the xpac, my only "Seriously?" moment has been getting a strength polearm on my Evoker, go home loot table, you're drunk haha
Ok I’m just gonna say, I’m glad I’m not the only one!!! The professions seems so convoluted and confusing! And then they buff things like perception and other terms that have literally never been used in WoW!!
Tomcat turs is awesome for the glyphs
I have post traumatic stress after picking an herb that killed me. Herbing used to be a peaceful endeavor
You always have a lot of useful information and I like your passion and presentation. You do a great job. Thank you.
I watch my life pass before my eyes everytime a tank pulls big in Brackenhide Hollow
Hazel mentioned that flower that kills you and yep, hear that. On my mage I found that Ice Block will save me. But the my other clothie is out of luck for now :)
@@FrozenFacade lol I never looked. Thanks.
Never understood what is so great about leveling as fast as you can.
I wasters critical, even while levelling, but now I'm 66 I'm loving it. Never thought I'd be able to say that about wow again
VOKER HEALS ARE OPPPPPPPPPPPP. BEEN LOVING IT. ♥
I have ignored the promotion, and suspect I’m not alone in looking askance of bribes of this nature.
@@clogs4956 That's nice.
Thank you, Hazel! Out of curiosity, and you've probably answered this before, but: What is your favorite WoW expansion? (Mine is Lich King!)
Yea professions scare the crap out of me, I was excited for them but I'm so scared LOL.
I guess I was lucky at launch. I never had any issues on Oceanic.
Question - Have those cute dragon whelps always been behind you on the top shelf? Or am I just seeing them now? :D
I’m here for Hazel’s ‘choir hands’ poses
I'm with you. "Gear you can get anytime: flowers are valuable now!"
On that note, do you know where I can find Frozen Saxifrage and Titan-touched Bubble Puppy? I've found all other herbs except those and I'd love to have those last 2 knowledge points.
I would have all of the side quests done right now except there's a bug where you can't turn one of them in. Looking at you Academic Acquaintances >.>
I love your matching nails/sweater RL transmog :-D
Hazel,
Please keep up on the timeline for implementing flying mounts in DF and let us know when it is due. In the meantime, I'm going to go play No Man's Sky for a few weeks.
I have no interest in the flying mini-game that is DR and playing DF on the ground is an exercise in frustration, so peace out.
