An 7 years later i found this in thier interview about the song Masafumi Gotoh: The boy is a metaphor for myself, and the girl a metaphor for the young generation. I wanted to look back at myself and send encouragement to my young, innocent feeling. I'm in my mid-30s and whether I like it or not, those emotions well up. The "Hikare, Kotoba yo" in the chorus really represents myself and what words I spell out or just shoot out. I think that whether it's music or a painting, all expressions of feelings are language, even if words are not involved. The words one speaks will lead the way for their path. Whatever the word, if it is beautiful it will make that person and the whole world surround that person beautiful. That's why I wanted a strong and beautiful word.

What do you guys think the meaning of this video is? To me it has several meanings but I'll go with the one that I think that is most likely. Love. I think the girl is chasing the boy because she is in love with him. She wants to keep up with him, and be with him, even though it may not be the best choice for her to make. In the video you see all sorts of people. People running in the other direction, people falling, people struggling. The girl hardly pays attention to any of her passbyers. Her only goal is to keep up with the love of her life. But thereby she also looses track or control even of the things around her. I'm thinking the boys playing soccer; her friends. The mother and her son; her family. The girl struggling with her papers; her schoolwork. All these things that she ignores or that suffer under the weight of her feelings for that boy. I think that's a message that a lot of people might recognise themselves or others in.
