    Both beds are really beautiful the mixing of the plants are cohesive yet different. The euphoria you added to the bed on the left affect the balance a little bit. To me, one corner appears crowded and the opposite has only a rock

      Thanks so much! You are right but I am also waiting to see how the salvia grows. It’s likely that I’ll move more plants around as they grow.

    Is always nice to have a home with a garden. Wish we have lovely weather to grow succulents and cacti outside all year round. Unfortunately i only grow evergreen plants. I really love your giant Euphorbia’s. When you guys move again you have to dig out those plants from the flower beds.

    Looking fantastic! It’s great fun to create new beds. Your plant combinations are inspiring. I saw a great tip recently- to visit garden centres each month to see what is flowering so you get interest all year. I have been gardening for many years and I am amazed at all the new varieties that get released.
    I have visited a lot of nurseries lately as I am creating new garden beds - I went to Plants Plus and realised they don’t have the tube stock like they used to. I do find Bunnings is good value.

      Oh my god that is a GREAT tip!! I heard somewhere that people generally design their gardens for spring, but it sounds like important to me that there’s something of interest all year round. Thanks for sharing!

    Your white euphorbia looks like Diamond Frost -- which is just a brand name. I love that you are mixing with compatibles. So many desert plants are annuals or ephemerals. It's fun to work with them and let them come and go with the seasons.
    Should you not dead head your coneflower, or are you letting it go to seed? The seedlings like to establish in cool weather. So you might start to see seedlings pop up over your winter.

    • @the.morning.chorus
      @the.morning.chorus  8 месяцев назад

      I’m having a ball thinking of combinations I haven’t been able to try before! I just haven’t gotten round to dead heading the echinacea yet. That’s usually a chore I’ll procrastinate with. Having only gardened with succulents in containers letting something go to seed is so new to me!

      We have an echinopsis/trichocereus that looks similar, but it’s not specifically the flying saucer type. I’d love to get one though, the pink flowers are beautiful!

    Happy Sunday because your video comes out. You are doing an amazing job Shy and Tim. The garden beds are looking amazing. The saliva Aztec Blue was that from Bunnings? Absolutely beautiful and now I have to have one. I am planning on going to Roraima next Sunday to buy some plants because I've made some space and now it's empty. Roraima may have a Salvia Aztec Blue. I look forward to seeing what you have been up to in your next video.

      We did once, at our old place, but it was just restricted to 1 pot. I haven't seen them in my current garden.
