just take your time Professor. In the third year of war we all are exhausted sometimes. Slava Ukraini!
Yes, it is tiring to live in a country without war and conflict, to witness the misery Ukrainians are subjected to. It is so hard and tiring, poor us!
@@thenorseman2804check your ignorance at the door, many of us who support Ukraine have devoted money, time, and a great deal of energy. It is exhausting and heartbreaking to still see this conflict continue to ravage Ukraine.
@@ryangomez4462 Ignorance?
If you had been near a conflict and seen with your own eyes the suffering that the Ukrainians are going through or others in war zones. Would you never open your mouth to complain about how hard it is for you to support a people at war. The weak egocentrics do!
@@ryangomez4462 Let's see if the Professor deletes this answer too!
If you had been in a conflict zone and seen the suffering with your own eyes or experienced it first hand. Then you would never open your mouth with your pathetic complaints about how hard it is for you!
@@thenorseman2804. Perhaps you need some help? Your comments are rude and unnecessary.
Thank you for still supporting Ukraine and defending democracy!
Rest. Take care of yourself, Darin. Thank you for your dedication to Ukraine's cause, and for keeping us informed.
This is a marathon, not a sprint. Less can often be more ! Take care.
Take your time, Professor! I can't really tell you enough how much I appreciate you.
RUclipsrs need to normalize taking time off. So many creators grind every day and never take time off, but it's horrible for their mental health. I can't imagine never taking vacation from my work. I need a two week break at least once or twice per year, and few shorter ones too. Most important thing, Professor, is your health and happiness, so take care of yourself and don't feel ashamed to slow things down when you need to. We don't want you to get burned out!
Amen
Look after your health this is most important thing. Love from U.K.
Reflection is always valuable. Take care and recharge.
Looking back reminds us of what we have all been through.
Comparison from year ago to present is great! BUT rest comes first Dr. Gerdes! 💞👍🏼💞
Take it easy Professor! We will happily wait.
The flashback was great. Take care of your health first 🙂🇺🇦
Take care. It needs to be fun and sustainable for you.
Bless you, Professor. You have been a daily companion, trying to make sense of this war.
Enjoy life and family. I shall be supportive every month for Ukraine. Slava Ukraine. Smell roses. Love
The flash back was interesting. Thank you for all you do for us and Ukraine .
You definitely need to take care of yourself mentally and emotionally
Artur Rehi had the same issue of becoming drained emotionally. ❤ from. Texas.
Take good care of yourself, Professor.
We learn more from you in 3 minutes than hours of the syndicates. Regards from Fergus, ON. CA.
Personally I think flash backs are a great idea. Not only do they give perspective to the bigger picture but also allows us some time to contemplate the journey Ukraine and in some ways the western world has undertaken to get us to where we are today. Take care professor this war is a mental minefield for those like your good self who immerse themselves so deeply into the information sphere to provide us viewers with a condensed yet concise analysis of the daily situation. Thank you.
Professor, please take the time you need. War is hard on everyone involved. For me, you are one of the sources I trust the most. Your honesty and integrity show through in all your videos. Do not let this process ruin your life and health! Keep up the good work!
Thank you Prof. Get some rest. We appreciate all your time and energy to keep us informed.
Yes to the flashbacks, people seem to forget the tragedies of Russia's crimes against Ukraine as soon as the news falls out of the media. Do what works best for you, I appreciate every minute you dedicate to supporting Ukraine.
Take care professor! You are the most important person in your life. Everyone needs a break, listen to your mind and body 🙂 I'll check your videos anyhow, no matter if they come daily or weekly or whatever.
We need you professor! Take care of your health first and foremost.
In the substance abuse treatment community, there is an acronym. H.A.L.T. Never get too HUNGRY, ANGRY LONELY, OR TIRED. It’s my experience that this transfers very nicely to people who are not coping with clinical behavioral health concerns. So please, Professor, take a H.A.L.T break!
Yes, or else you will be "F.I.N.E.
F-up, insecure, neurotic and emotional
I have lost it I have done those many times.
We all get stale doing the same thing the same way all the time. It's summer, relax and me personally it is nice to see nature.
You have all my support, take time for yourself!
Play the game as you need to. We will still support you. Don't worry.
Take care professah
Dear Professor. I have watched your update every day since the start of this crucial war. THANK you for every update. AND now take a well deserved break - and come back when you are ready.
Professor, feeling emotionally burned out and compassion fatigue is totally valid! Personally I don't get much from you reading what's on the screen, you can just explain it and cite the links in the description but you are a trusted source - you don't need an article on screen to prove it. As someone that has had to take a break from daily updates I understand and know the guilt. Look after yourself too prof.
Please take your time, and enjoy other things in life. We not want to miss your story’s in the internet. Like Ukraine stay strong Professor.
Your mental health is worth more than anything!
Take it easy Professor and do what you are able to do. We appreciate everything that you do. Audio is excellent. Being married to a Ukrainian, we are exhausted too, but very much appreciate your clear, concise and accurate reporting. Enjoy thee flashbacks and love your cap!
Rest up fella. Take your time.
We all understand. Take your time. Your health is important. Also for us.
Take some time to yourself. The world will wait, it may get tougher before it gets any better, and we will need you.
Take your time! We appreciate your work. I learned from taking care of elderly parents with health issues - by the time you realize you are exhausted, you are actually far more exhausted than you think. Take care of yourself!
Thanks Professor. Responding to your request for feedback on the flashbacks; It's interesting to see the "deja vu all over again" facets, however, I don't think I gained additional perspective by watching them. Your videos made a strong impression on me on the first view so I readily recall the details from those presented 1+ years back. I tune in mainly for your fresh perspectives on the relevent issues of the day.
I am quite concerned about your need for a short break and don't want to see you burn out. By all means, take the time you need to refresh and recharge. Georgi traveled and did a session from a little coffee shop on the street in Germany. It was priceless!
I appreciate you!
Whatever you feel you can do. We appreciate it
Come on people. Subscribe to the Professor!
Whatever understanding you can give us is great. I can't watch all your output while I'm trying to keep up with everyone else's output on a daily basis.
Keep the faith professor. Tom from Boston
I don't know how you've done it as long as you have, Professor Gerdes. Your efforts have been heroic. Dial back, get the rest you need, and set a pace you can sustain before you turn into a grease puddle on the floor. Putin wants to wear us all out.
Yes, go for it on all counts.
I know it’s natural for academics to always want to reference one’s sources, you have years of experience doing exactly that! But from where I’m standing, I don’t think we lose too much by not seeing your highlights and source material. Quite frankly, we follow you, because we see your heart in this and we don’t need to second-guess your integrity. Your opinion is both humble and well-considered, which is why we trust your sources and like listening to what you have to say. So follow your gut with our blessing and support, Professor, and do what you need to make the work that you do sustainable.
Main thing friend is to avoid burn out.. What you are doing is important work and I among many appreciate it very much!
Much Respect!
Rest and spend time with your family.
A wee time out is a good thing , we all need you sharp prof .. 💎
I'm buying whatever you're growing, so you do you for the benefit of all of us.
Look after you Prof, else you can care for everyone else 🙏
Thank you and get well!
Less is often more. Appreciate your time and work.
I´ve been there, and I ended up spending at least two months on the couch, unable to do anything. Give yourself the rest you need.
It's all good 👍 We'll let you know. Take it easy 💜
Good idea. I'm happy to watch your videos / reports whenever you post them. Doesn't have to be every day or even several times a day. The important thing is your strong support for Ukraine. 💙 💛
Thanks for the update and views 🇺🇲🇺🇦
Take care and work it all out...
I like the Flash Back
Rest as dedicatedly as you work.
Take care Prof, take all the time you need to feel better. I agree with another comment I've seen here that is saying it's not a sprint but a marathon.
Someone said it precisely below: It's a marathon, not a sprint. Do what is necessary to carry on.
The 5 minute format is great, Professor!
Thanks for your previous posts... Enjoyed uour flash black. Watch you Daily.
Rest dude!!!!
Take care of yourself. I appreciate your viewpoint
Take a break! After a year-and-a-half in Vietnam, I felt a rush of exhaustion, too. I needed some time -- even as a young guy -- to rebalance and set new goals for myself. I remember that I even had a different smell about me (not foul or annoying, just different) that took about six months to disappear. I readjusted quickly -- and six weeks later I was busy in college. But after a year-and-a-half of tenseness and dealing with everything on a mission-to-mission basis, I really enjoyed letting go and relaxing for some weeks to recharge my batteries! Thank you for your videos!
What ever you put out will be good 👍
Get some rest. If you don't have your health, you don't have anything.
Edit: That said, if you intend to keep recording things in your backyard or from other places outside, you might want to check into your microphone situation. There were a couple of times in this video where your audio dropped - I'm guessing this might have been because of wind drowning out your voice or something?
Fair enough Prof
Great work! I admire your commitment! But look after yourself!
You MUST pace yourself. I have become obsessed every day checking in, checking again pm, then evening, then before bed. Just had family and couldn't do it and felt completely refreshed - it pointed up how easy it is to become unhealthily obsessed about Ukraine which is on all of our minds all the time, I find.
Your body is protecting you. Definitely if you feel sick about it need to rest. We have enough trauma in the world already.
Take your time. The flashback was super. Thanks for your work
Take care/Swden
Thanks, Darin. Take a rest.
Prof. Gerdes, please avoid burn-out; you are needed. Thank you!
You have to protect yourself against yourself! Don't get in a burnout.
You are doing a really good job.
The flashback was a great way to offer some perspective on current events. I'm sure that however you decide to proceed will be fine, your commentary is important. Thanks Professor!👍👍
Firstly I love your videos
One a day is plenty
3 mins is too short, 8 mins is better, but keep it to 3 topics.
You just get on with it. No wasted words, no waffle, no unnecessary chat, just rapid fire great words.
Take it easy, we all need our weekends and holidays.
Greatly appreciate and enjoy your work Sir
Thanks for the reflection. Compact format sounds good. Take rest, recuperate and extend the duration later if you feel like it. We in Europe appreciate your efforts! ❤
Rest is important. Pace yourself.
You first ... family before fans
Create what you want when and how you want
Continue to be mindful about balance in your life. Work smart and thank you for caring about Ukraine. Our frail democracies depend on honest reporting.
Love the change and really like the flashbacks
I think that is a great idea ! Take a break till you feel ready. It is an incredibly emotionally draining topic. You don't need to feel obliged to do anything at all.
Do what is good for you prof.❤️🇺🇦
We are all entitled to a vacation or break
Thanks for the updates
Flashback was awesome sir.
It works.
The flashback gives context and helps for continuity.
Tack a break and do the short version as long as you need
I watch (and watched your anniversary video) your posts, I thought it was a very good idea to revisit previous posts. So much has changed while simultaneously being very similar one year on. People forget, good to remind us. Also I liked that you referenced posts from other bloggers.
Thanks for taking the time and effort, much appreciated.
I prefer the 3 minute time limit. That makes sure I don't miss anything but doesn't repeat other RUclipsrs who may go more in depth as a military, political, or financial specialty.
Research can always go into the description or a pinned comment. I prefer that because it means I can fit it into my schedule. I don't like to pause to come back to videos because I lose the cohesion.
Flashbacks: I wouldn't limit myself to a year ago. I think people have forgotten the shock of the full-scale invasion. Women and children fleeing the shelling, walking miles to the border in snow and freezing rain, etc. Men and women, grandfathers and grandmothers, signing up, practicing with wooden rifles, citizens making molitov cocktails, Russian advances throughout the south, etc.
Ukraine didn't even get Western artillery for months; it was using its Soviet era equipment.
You are now my number one for correct information, can I suggest you do a weekly 10 minute round up each week… Still keep the three minutes each other day. Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦.
Look after yourself Prof. Gerdes, I hope you soon start to feel better 🙏❤️ Take care of your mental health (avoid fox, that’ll help) much love ❤
Looking back reminds of how we got where we are - and perhaps illustrated things to avoid like reacting too late in response to Russian moves rather than in response to what Ukraine needs. Take it easy Prof. I'm afraid it's going to be a long war and we need informed opinion like yours.
I liked the flashback. it provides perspective.
Okay, I sense a problem here, so here's my story: I was on full steam with a job as an international trucker, and a columnist in a monthly magazine plus writing a couple of books. But that wasn't enough. I was also a father of two and a husband trying to make the most of the limited time we had together as a family. I suddenly found myself standing in the middle of a supermarket with tears pouring out of my eyes. I turned around and went straight home and asked my wife to call the company. Take care of yourself before it gets worse.
recharge mate np
I think the one year ago update was pretty cool. I have completed immersed myself with Ukraine updates daily for the 3rd year now and sometimes it's good to look back.
