Add to this his striking performances and charismatic presence, he was the Coolest Dude. All the Asian guys at school wanted to be him. There was a trend of the famous TAEYANG mini-fauxhawk. People were doing this Wedding Dress choreo at Talent shows. The IMPACT of our R&B KING.
Exactly! Even their "Still Alive" album was the first kpop group to break into the Billboard charts and it was up pretty high considering SNS and streaming weren't as big back then. I remember when Wedding Dress came out I had such a big fan crush on Taeyang for the longest time. When he finally got married you can bet I was celebrating for him while singing Wedding Dress!

Wow this take me way back to high school. I first discovered BigBang like around 2008 and got into a rabbit hole of listening all YG family. But I knew about 1TYM's Hot since it was a song you could play in Pump It Up so that's childhood. I don't think those MVs would've been good if released now but at the time it was something different from what the korean people used to see. Fun fact: both Teddy and Danny grew up in LA so it was probably them who brought the culture to their music. Big bang and 2ne1 ended up being my absolute favourites throughout highschool and college so they still have a special place in my heart
