This is a White Knuckle special holiday event that will only be available until Jan 12th. It's an entirely new area and has some great new additions - such as snowstorms, slippery ice platforms, Xmas themed items, breakable hand-holds, chill effects that decrease your stamina regeneration, reindeer bugs and hot cocoa breaks. It's EVEN HARDER than the main game too!
So they made an entirely new area just to scrap it in about 3 weeks?
@@half.blight Yeah, but it will be returning next year too I believe. Plus it's probably a good little testbed for trying out new ideas for the full game.
@AlphaBetaGamer huh. That so, I haven't made it past the base demo final interlude yet. Can't figure out a proper place to get the holds and spears there and don't wanna run the whole grind again. Way too many "noooo" and "why didn't I grab that" have been spoken with distress.

@@m0-m0597 Yeah, I'm always going to assume the White Knuckle protagonist is either some seasoned rock climber or has stupidly jacked hands and such, perhaps maybe both. The crazy stunts and grabs you can pull off in-game certainly support this.

You introduced me to white knuckle and since trying it, I have been absolutely hooked. I am so hyped for the full release of the game and have been playing through the demo a lot. It's such a cool concept for a game!

Pretty much. The color of the hands are basically a stamina bar. The redder they are, the less grip you have left.

This mode is endless, so it's not possible to do a full playthrough. The video does feature all three areas of the Xmas special mode though. :)

What does it mean when his hands turn red and white?
The redder it gets the lower your grip stamina is. If it gets too low you lose your grip and fall.
It's like The Climb but they set it in hell.
Also, FOMO content is the tactic of the enemy.

There's no fall damage, but the 𝛘-MASS coolant is continually chasing you up The Chimney. If you fall into it then it's game over.

Lmao I thought there is a whole new genre of "megastructure speed climbing" games, but then I realized this game has gotten three videos on your channel in two months. Are you getting paid by the developers or what is it? All the other games get one video so it looks kind of fishy to me.
Hi! No, the dev isn't paying me (I'd say if it was a promoton). It's just hands down one of my favorite games of the year. I've put over 35 hours into the demo build just because I enjoy it so much. Also, I think all three videos showcased didferent things about the game (initial attempt, completing the demo and playing the Xmas special).
This game hasn't even been released yet and it's already in my fop five gaming experiences of 2024. At this point it's just a game that I really want to see suceed (largely becaue I want to play the best version of it possibble).
@@AlphaBetaGamer Yes sorry, I was used to "one game getting one video" on this channel, I mean there are so many indie games that deserve attention, but of course I have no right to tell you what games should appear on YOUR channel, it just struck me as unusual. Maybe you could start another channel and upload long letsplays of your favourite games here?
@@pietlebrun5943 No worries. I often cover games multiple times when I believe they warrant it (if they have significant changes to the in-development build usually). I think the most times I've covered a single game is Iron Meat, which I covered 7 times in normal videos and in 3 shorts. Love that game! :)
