OH MY GOD. Greer Garson just said "The Fonz." Everything is perfect. I can die happy now.
RIP Norman Reynolds (March 26, 1934 - April 6, 2023), aged 89
And
RIP John Barry (July 3, 1935 - June 1, 1979), aged 43
You both will be remembered as legends.
Greer Garson's accent!
Love how Greer Garson said "STAR WARS" ^_^
Henry Winkler looked fantastic with a beard! Loved Greer Garson, my favorite movie was Random Harvest.
Had the internet existed in 1978, Greer Garson would've been immortalized as an meme for her pronunciation of "Star Wars."
It's not too late, James! We can make this a meme! STAAHHHH WAHHHSSSS
OMG weirdest combination ever! Greer Garson, The Fonz and Star Wars! Baha! This just made my day. She is so adorable and I love how she pronounces "Star WARS" =P
Fun Fact: Roger Christian, one of the winners in this category, directed Battlefield Earth.
I've just came here to comment that...hahahaha
RIP Bob Hope and Greer Garson
Man, everyone was just voting "STAR WARS" all over that year's Oscars!
I wish they did that for Supporting Actor (Alec Guinness), Director (George Lucas), and Picture too...
Star Wars has great art direction.
I LOVE that they combined Greer Garson and Henry Winkler! Two legends and both were so respectful to each other. Hearing Greer Garson say, "The Fonz" is classic!
so well deserved, the fact that this movie didnt win best screenplay, director and picture is an absolute crime
Surprised that Ralph Mcquarrie wasn't included as part of the winners.
I know, right? All they show for the designs in the clips is Ralph McQuarrie's work. The whole thing was designed by him. Criminal.
Yes, Terry, the banter was horrible..unfortunately, that is par for the course at the Oscars. It was embarrassing..but she carried it off with her usual class.
She was introduced as one of the glittering jewels of the cinema by Bob Hope and Winkler paid tribute to her best actress win by specifically mentioning MRS. MINIVER. Did you not actually watch this before commenting?
Please upload the wins for Camelot, Oliver!, Hello Dolly!, Cabaret, The Godfather Part II, All That Jazz, Gandhi, Amadeus, Batman, Dick Tracy, Bugsy, Schindler's List, The English Patient, Titanic, Shakespeare in Love, Sleepy Hollow, Chicago, The Aviator, Memoirs of a Geisha, Pan's Labyrinth, Sweeney Todd, Curious Case of Benjamin Button, & Avatar!
Not even a word for Ralph McQuarrie... that is a disgrace.
McQuarrie should have also won for Best Costume too. He designed Darth Vader and the Stormtroopers.
I have to add that I'm not saying John Mollo was not deserving.
such elegance
This is crazy the won so many oscars in 78
Holy crap George how about a little enthusiasm!
I honestly think that when it came to this category in '77, "Star Wars" had the best chance of winning. Although, I personally think another nominee should have replaced one of the others. My personal nominee, Disney's "Pete's Dragon". Sure, in "Airport '77" they built a full-scale airplane which in OK; but to build a full-scale working lighthouse and town for a movie? That was very impressive in my book. It should've been nominated. Oh, well. "Whatever will be, will be." That's my motto of life.
Setda, Setda, Set... Decoration!
No idea why George didn't get any awards? :-( politics?
Which one? The filmmaker or the art director? Think about it.
How silly to not even mention Greer Garson's many nominations and win for Mrs. Miniver.
Henry mentioned it
One great girl. 🎯🇸🇪
Was that stallone!!!
Great !
That banter was really banal. To ask a star like Greer Garson to do that was embarassing!
No way should Lucas or Star Wars have won Best Picture. The correct picture won that year!
Agreed. The nomination was good enough.
Joe Elves of Close Encounters of the Third Kind went on to direct Jaws 3D........not a good career choice it seems.
This is the only Oscar nomination he has ever received for this.
You mean, Joe Alves?
Did Greer Garson have a stroke? Why is she speaking so strangely?
No. It’s her English accent.
@@manuellarodrigues No it's not just her English accent. That there is something weird about her pronunciation.
@@summertummer2394 well... I don’t know if she had a stroke... never heard this before. But, maybe she had, someone close to her could explain that.
Greer Unica❤❤❤❤
