Thank you for this explanation! I could never wrap this around my head and memorize it! Thank you! ❤️ One thing I thought of while watching this to remember the steps and the agents is to put them together. Step 1 has one agent which is the SABA. Step 2 has two agents (ICS + SABA). Step 3 has 3 agents (LABA + ICS + SABA) and then you titrate up from there from moderate to high dose steroid (medium to severe). I hope that helps ppl too! ❤️
I legitimately LOVE YOU, not to sound creepy but I'm just so grateful for your tips/tricks and mnemonics! Despite some guideline changes this is still the MOST HELPFUL video board prep I've watched in addition to several other videos you've posted. You're truly a role model in our community!
Just FYI for those now watching I found slight changes in current COPD treatment guidelines so be sure to compare, but this was still a great help. Thanks for all your videos Brittani, they're helping a ton!
Thank you again for fantastic information. I love the tricks to help you remember things also.....Will you also make GI and professional issues videos? Why is the use of theophylline a risk factor in COPD exacerbation?
First congratulations for passing your NP board.. Secondly thank you for sharing your video series, tips and tricks for the exam. I do have a question for the asthma management, which one do we have to remember the 2007 guidelines or the GINA 2020 guidelines.? Thank you.
Thank you so much! and I am so glad I've been able to help you. And in regards to the asthma guidelines, the GINA update is still too new & is not on boards. Still think SABA!
Thanks for the information but everyone with COPD are not always smokers. Some end up with COPD due to the environment they worked for 30 years and never smoked a day in their lives.

You are very welcome! I’m so glad my videos helped you!
Nice addition Will.
Just FYI: I have been told the new GINA guidelines are now on the board exams. This means ICS is 1st line and controller for asthma.
depends what you mean for first line: are you talking about maintenance or attack of asthma; am I correct about that??
Agree! 2023 follows GINA guidelines now. Her Asthma guidelines are not updated and if you follow her, you'll get the wrong info for your boards.
