Fans should take 2 minutes and compare Pete Alonso's stats in his 6 years of MLB & Juan Soto 7 years in MLB... If Pete isn't signed to end his career as a MET it will be a massive injustice, Pete will cost less than half the AAS of Soto.
Can’t agree more. And if they don’t sign our own guy that’s on pace to be the best Met ever, then what do the younger guys coming up think? They can lead MLB in HR for first 5 years and set records but not get a contract? GTFOH. They better sign Pete. Last I checked Pete hits more HR and did it in NY for the Mets for years now. For 1/3 of the price??
As a Yankees fan that watched him botch balls in the outfield, and run the bases like a Jerry's kid all year, you can have him for the schmuck money being offered. You guys were a couple of games away from the WS without him and accumulated some respect in doing so. Paying 700 Million to win 5 or 6 more games next year and lose all respect gained isn't worth it in M/O.
The Mets would be better off without him. He's coming off of the best year in his career. I don't know think that 35 HR a year and a 275 BA with poor defense is worth a 15 year 650 million dollar contract.
@@paulhart3812 I hear you we do need bitching but we don't want to have a overpay either I need to give away our top prospects and also developing from the draft and also what would boil down to is to be like Frank Cash and did
I meant to say don't sell the farm don't pay overpaid for our prospects for for the future cuz that's the cutest team the prospects Frank Cash and I'll show you that that's the Franklin cash and I'll show you that
SMH. I understand the need for views, but maybe reporting pertinent news that actually has an impact on the Soto situation rather than trying to make something out of nothing. I hope they sign Soto, but let's keep it real and provide information that really matters.
We’re reporting what’s happening and what’s happening is the Mets owner just followed the biggest free agent on the market. I think that’s reportable but thanks. Appreciate the feedback.
@@createdrosters So, what impact does this have, if any, on signing Juan Soro? I say, none. While interesting, it's hardly newsworthy and doesn't sway Soto or Boras in the least.
I would like to get Willie Adames to play third and then maybe sign Pete? If not move Ventos to first. But if we just have four good hitters, we’re gonna be very top-heavy. I mean maybe Nimmo can have a bounce back year. He hit 224 last year. Or fuck it, I know Cohen doesn’t want to throw his money around, but the Dodgers are. They spent$1 billion last off-season….why can’t we? Why can’t we spend 1.2 billion get all three hitters trade for a set up man/closer and fill out the rotation! If the Dodgers really want to throw their money around,Cohen should say all right the gloves are off. Let’s really start throwing some money around.
Ya can take Soto. Yankees can have a better team with Santander...also Aaron Judges comment about not my money was when they asked how he felt if they payed Soto more than he ...
Yes the smart thing to do is to acquire Soto to Mets Org., then the morons and haters in this comment section can watch a new book of history be written in Queens, New York! Then you can talk all the crap you want!
Is Alex Cohen Steve's twin brother? Just asking! Unless Steve is going incognito! Right? Nevertheless, great stuff here, congrats on your channel. LGM 😃
Even if he is really 26, which I doubt, a 15 yr contract would age poorly. Just look at Paul Goldschmidt. He was once considered one of the top players in all of Baseball. This past year, he really struggled. He's 37. How will Soto look ten years from now?
Do you live your life 10 years down the road ? Today he’s a 26 YO great player that will make the Mets lineup awesome. Tomorrow will take care of itself. When you have a chance to get a generational talent, you do it. Yesterday is history, tomorrow’s a mystery, all we have is today, that’s why it’s called the “present.”
@@mitchellbellardini7360 The Yankees couldn't win with him, what makes you think that the Mets, with all the holes in their roster, will? I'd rather see them go after Kyle Tucker next year. He's a three-time all-star who has a great bat and glove.
@@mitchellbellardini7360 Even if Soto were to agree to defer some of the contract, they would still be paying him close to 50 million a year. For that amount of money, you could fill three holes in your roster.

without Pete Alonso's HR the Mets post season would have ended in Milwaukee.

I don't disagree with you guys, but I will say that Pete has also declined contract extensions as well, wanting more money.

If we won those "6 more games" you describe in the playoffs this year... we would have won our first WS win since 86... Absolutely worth it!
