- Food and other humanitarian aid supplies to Gaza have improved in April, but there is still far from enough to reverse the trend towards famine, said the head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees. Only a handful of countries, including top donor United States, still have a block on their funds to UNRWA following Israeli accusations that members of its staff took part in the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks. UNRWA Senior Communications Manager Jonathan Fowler joins FRANCE 24's Genie Godula to discuss the 'unprecedented humanitarian crisis" in war-torn Gaza and how the US funding ban is affecting the UN agency's operations assisting Palestinian refugees.

Time for the mid East muslim nations to step up.
yeah, not going to happen.
UNRWA is irrevocably broken. They’ve had plenty of time and opportunity to fix it but chose to ignore it and claim ignorance. Sometimes when an organization is so broken at so many levels all you can do is replace it. In my mind they are done.
Why is middle eastern countries with oil money not saving their Muslim people? America is not supposed to save everyone with our tax money. We are suffering too just trying to live as we're not rich.
Let countries arab countries contribute that 87%
yeah right.. the Arab countries should contribute more.. countries like south arabia that is swimming in dollars..
Not that dumb
Since when he criminals do not pay for their crime but family of victims? That's absurd
Why wasn't UNRWA's reliance on US contribution spoken of over the past few years? Seems like nows a good time for "supporters" of Gaza stop saying it, and start doing it
The 500 trucks a day were not food. There were a maximum of 100 of them. The rest were consumer goods, building materials, machines, cars.
Correct
One fact that got buried in the ruble
via Gaza :
🇮🇱 early in the conflict dropped
pamphlets to Gazans to call the
anamous number to report the
hide ours of Hamas and save 🇵🇸
As of 05 - 2024 , not a single call.
Guilt by association...?
Let Qatar fund UNRWA if they care about gazans so much.
With Soros..
and yet the UN continues to refuse to condemn Hamas and call for their surrender.
Why does every single representative for groups like this completely fail to recognize that Gazan citizens have the power to stop the war at literally any moment they like?
or, at least Hamas could take the fighting away from civilians as if they cared
Free Jammu and Kashmir Insha Allah Jammu and Kashmir Issue exists on the UNO charter today also
Ask Qatar and also Hamas leaders for money.
America's money American do what American want, it is none of your business
Only the US has a legal obligation dating from 1948 to feed and house the Palestinians that were denied a state that was promised to them by the US and the UN in 1948. You know very little about this topic and should stick to your knitting.
@@chantal8151 Whats the name of this obligation? Where can I read more?
@@superhumantrueman United Nations General Assembly Resolution 302 (IV)
@@ryuuguu01 Nothing there says America has a legal oblication to do anyting. What part are you talking about in particular?
@@chantal8151 Lies. This "legal obligation" with the Americans has to be the same one magically concocted by the Russians that only countries they approve can apply to NATO. These "obligations" magically appear when points are to be made and demands are to be given.
We don't owe Palestinians or Israelis anything. Some of the wealthiest countries are right next door. And not only are they not helping with aid they don't even want them in their countries.
pure evil
😊
There is and was never even risk of famine there. The numbers never made any sense, for famine you need 400 daily deaths per day ect thats 2 person per every 10000 per day.
What do I, an American taxpayer, owe them?
Do you enjoy supporting Israel’s killing innocent children? BTW, you are paying for their universal health care that you don’t have here in the U.S.
nothing. some are butt-hurt because they have to face the truth the US has been by far the only country to care about Palestinians plight
Yet they hate us! I think the US should stop funding for both the UNRWA and the UN because both are corrupt, biased, misuse funds and support Islamic Extremist Groups with radical ideologies. Why are the families so large in Gaza when they can't support all of these children? @@icu17siberia
All countries should cut funding for UNRWA because its against international law to fund terrorism. Let them get help from the billionaires leaders of Hamas terrorists who are living in luxury in Qatar. Its dark and gloomy in Gaza but bright and sunny in Qatar 😎☀️😎☀️😎☀️😎
Enough of Israeli lies...
@@Logia1978 They never stop. An independent report was published, demonstrating that ISR has not provided any evidence to support their accusations against this organization.
Blah blah. An independent review revealed that ISR has ZERO EVIDENCE for these claims.
@@Logia1978 why no Arab support for UNRWA to fill the gap?
@@carlomariaromano4320 Some rich countries never provide support before. Did they know what ISR knows? Or do they not care enough to provide aid?
The situation with UNRWA is a complete moral disgrace. Guilty until proven innocent. And even after proven innocent, still punished.
Actually, an independent review published recently revealed that ISR has no evidence to support their claims about this aid organization.
seems like most of the world doesn't support UNRWA. Since US has pulled their funding, other big countries have refused to step in; Russia, china, So. Africa talk a lot, but won't touch it. Why? Someone knows something
