The lyric "Tonic and gin" is inevitably meant to have a musical double meaning in the song "Piano Man", as a Tonic is both the central note (and/or "1 chord") in any given key signature as well as the settling beverage.Yes, perhaps it is still a hacky song. However, very good to know what a tonic chord is if you are in fact a piano man. What is the double meaning of Chick Camp?
