This effect of burning u also get on tablesaws. A perfect sharp blade can burn, if u push the wood to slow through it.
Your jig is great for cutting big plates. So simple but effectiv!

Great idea, I don't have a table saw to make it precise so I designed a 3D printable files to achieve this and used 20x20 aluminum tubing as a guide. I have uploaded those files to Thingiverse for anyone interested to make it and has access to 3D printer.

Ich nehm' ein Lineal und einen Linealstop (oder ggf. 2 ala "story stick"). Schnell und sehr präzise zu benutzen. Einfach gewünschten Abstand einstellen, Linealstop an die Kante anlegen und dabei mit dem Lineal die Gummilippe der Schiene schieben. Einzig schauen, dass links / rechts nicht verschoben ist, aber das geht gut. Die Woodpecker-Stops sind wohl ganz gut, aber (zu) teuer. Ich hab' mir den _czech edge ruler stop_ gekauft. Der ist auch (zu) teuer, aber irgendwo das Geld dann doch wert. 10 Euro billiger hätte es auch getan, aber na ja. Kauft man einmal und dann hat man was... Für kleine Abschnitte sind die 15cm Lineale mit dem dazugehörigen Ruler Stop von Shinwa auch eine prima Ergänzung. Für die großen Lineale nutze ich den Czech edge ruler stop, da der dicker ist und eine längere Kante hat und dicker ist. Praktischer bei den meisten Situationen.

Auch von mir ein Daumen hoch. Einfache Lösung, schnell gemacht und sie funktioniert auch noch.
Noch ein ganz kleiner Tipp zur Nutzung der Oberfräse: Häufig ist es auch sinnvoll, eine Nut nicht in einem sondern in zwei oder drei Durchgängen zu fräsen. Dafür hat zumindest meine Fräse eine Revolververstellung.
Danke für Dein Feedback und den Tipp. Ich habe die Nuten in zwei Durchgängen gefräst, bei 4:29 siehst Du, dass schon eine Nut vorhanden ist. Ich schneide solche sich wiederholenden Szenen nur meist bis auf ein Minimum raus.
Very useful video Andreas. Ive been wondering how to make something similar to use on the Dewalt tracks as it is not possible to have anything permanently attached to them like is possible on Festool & Makita tracks due to the different design of the Dewalt tracks. You've solved the problem and I think I can adapt your design slightly to fit the Dewalt tracks. Great video. Love how the router is in harmony with the music at 4:22 lol 😎

So . . . do you have a version where you don't use a table saw to make a jig for a track saw? I mean if I wanted to make easy repeatable cuts and I had a table saw, I'd probably just use the table saw.
I don’t agree. Sometimes the sheet is too large for the table saw or the workshop too small to put the sheet on the table saw in the orientation that’s needed.

Viel Aufwand. Es geht auch einfacher.
Zwei Streifen Birke Multiplex 150 mm x 1000 mm, 4 mm stark. Zwei sechseckige Winkelanschlagsätze mit Rändelschraube auf Multiplex Streifen für Maß Anschlag montieren. Fertig. Festklemmen mit Gripzange oder Einhandschraubzwinge.
Winkelanschlagsätze gibt es bei Werkzeugshop in 94447 Platting zu kaufen.

So it's not sparks from hitting metal? I've never seen a router throw hot wooden embers like that.
No - I definitely didn’t hit metal. I went very slowly and there was lots of dust which then got so hot that it started to glow.
I suspect that's probably made worse by inadequate dust collection for the benefit of the camera...
It’s not for the sake of the camera. Dust collection is one of the few weak points of that router.
Solche Parallelanschläge sind wirklich sehr hilfreich. Ich denke, du wirst sie lieben und dich fragen wie du bisher ohne ausgekommen bist. Aber warum hast du sie ohne Maßskala gemacht? Dies wäre nochmal eine deutliche Steigerung an Komfort und Genauigkeit!

Danke Tom. Ob die Maßskale ein Zugewinn an Genauigkeit ist, hängt halt davon ab, wie genau man sie appliziert bekommt - und das separat auf jedem Anschlag. Da ich mich kenne, schien es mir sinnvoller, von Hand zu messen und dann beide Anschläge entsprechend einzustellen. Außerdem hatte ich wenig Zeit, weil ich das andere Projekt beginnen musste.
Ja, ich hatte beide Versionen gesehen, finde aber die zweite Variante besser und habe daher dahin verlinkt.
Die Maßskala muss nicht absolut genau aufgeklebt werden. Bei meinen Versionen kann der Strich zum ablesen der Skala nachjustiert werden. Genauigkeit - 100 % 👍🏼

Danke René. Kein Metall, ich habe die Fräse zu langsam bewegt, so dass die Späne in der Nut durch die Reibungswärme angefangen haben zu glimmen (siehe „What I learnt“).

Ja eigentlich schon. Umgangssprachlich gibt es das aber oft: That’s + Plural. Aber eigentlich müsste ich natürlich hier meiner Vorbildfunktion als Englischlehrer gerecht werden ;-)
Es gibt noch einen - weniger offensichtlichen - Grammatikfehler in einer der Einblendungen, der mir erst zu spät aufgefallen ist - findest Du den?
Mein Favorit ist: "watch me make it". Ich hätte "watch me making it" getippt.
Nah dran - geht aber beides. „Make“ hat den Fokus mehr auf dem Ergebnis, „making“ mehr auf dem Prozess - was ja hier beides funktionieren würde.
Es ist: “I needed a way *to make” - müsste “a way of making” heißen.
Oh, das hätte ich nicht als Fehler identifiziert. Noch was gelernt. ;)

Warum hast du den Anschlag nicht einfach auf der Schienenseite "glatt" gelassen, so dass man die Schiene einfach an den Parallelanschlag (die Holzkante) ranschiebt? Das hätte meiner Meinung nach den Vorteil, dass man den Anschlag leichter wegnehmen kann, ohne die Gefahr die Schiene dabei zu verschieben -- und ist auch weniger aufwändig zu bauen... !?
Man könnte ggf. dann noch den Anschlag festklemmen, dann verrutscht auch nix, wenn man das Endstück des Anschlags auch flach genug macht (ca. 5 mm, die Grundplatte ist gute 6 mm über der Schnittebene), so dass die Grundplatte nicht an der Schiene gestoppt wird und man kann dann den Parallelanschlag auch während des Sägens dran lassen.
Wäre auch eine Option für das Zuschnittbrett, statt eine Festool-Schiene zu nehmen. Oder hattest du das getestet, dass ein flaches Stück als Anschlag nicht ausreichend / reproduzierbar Halt gibt und deswegen die Feststool-Schienen gekauft? Ich hab's noch nicht selbst getestet, aber hab' (wie viele) den Bedarf für die Bosch / Mafell-Schienen eine gute Lösung zu finden / basteln... :-) Daher die Neugier und Überlegungen.
Zum ersten Vorschlag: Ohne Einrasten ist das etwas wackelig, weil man ja mit den Anschlägen nach rechts ziehen muss, damit sie maßhaltig sind und die Schiene müsste man aber nach links dran drücken. Das widerspricht sich und macht es doch wackelig.
Das klemmen wäre eine Möglichkeit, geht aber auf meiner Werkbank schlecht, man müsste nach unten den Platz für die Zwingen haben.
Beim Zuschnittbrett steht die Schiene ja an den hohen Anschlägen an, die können nicht niedriger sein, weil die Höhe über Werktisch der Schiene von der Dicke des Materials abhängt.
@@holzhandwerk_ak Danke Andreas. Das macht Sinn. Beim Zuschnittbrett müsste man zwischen Anschlag und Schiene ein flaches Anschlagstück auf das Werkstück legen. Damit würde man dann den benötigten Abstand bekommen und könnte trotzdem die einfachen hohen Anschläge nutzen. Alternativ könnte man auch höhenverstellbare Anschläge machen, aber das wackelfrei und präzise hin zu bekommen ist nicht wirklich mit realistischem Aufwand machbar. Da ist in der Tat ggf. eine zweite Schiene zu kaufen leichter. Ich glaub' ich werd' die Variante mit flachem Anschlagstück einfach mal probieren. Mehr als "nicht klappen" kann mir ja nicht passieren. :-) Eine weitere Schiene will ich mir irgendwie nicht wirklich kaufen "müssen".

I'm sorry but i must be missing the point of this tool, my understanding is that you will need several pieces of stock of the same size in order to obtain repeated cuts then would it not be easier to just measure and draw all the lines right from the start? Could you please elaborate a bit more on this? :)
Hi Marco, when measuring you always make small errors (you can’t avoid them). So in joinery, you should always try to get a measurement by using a jig or something that you can push against instead of the wobbly quality of a measuring device held in place by your hands and looked at with your eyes. That’s the purpose of these tracksaw guides.
With them, you set the correct measurement once and from then on it’s just pushing that guide against a hard edge giving you the same measurement over and over.
And about measuring all beforehand: with each cut you lose the width of the saw blade (the "kerf") so drawing a line with a pencil wouldn’t work since you’d have to factor in the kerf (in my case, 2,2 mm - hard to measure by hand).

pointless. "all the materials you'll need" yet you neglect to mention that you need an expensive table saw, drill pres and router. This doesn't help people without those tools and just a track saw, which is the point after all
You’re right. I assumed that people have other tools as well. You could build the jig with just a track saw - only the slot down the middle of the long pieces would be harder to make. Thanks for pointing this out, though.
N A and of course, you can't use the brain between your ears to find solutions to perform these tasks with the equipment you have. Stop looking for an excuse why you can't do this, and blaming those who've spent a lifetime getting their tools.
Basically either you do or you don't build; can't make everyone happy showing how you did it. Maybe a friend does?

You absolutely don’t need expensive tools to make this jig. They may HELP in making the jig a bit more refined and accurate or perhaps just speed up the build. Tools only help. You can do all the above process with a track saw and a drill, I mean, that’s the purpose right? Make a jig for YOUR track saw?!
