- Ken Holland doesn't get everything right. But he sure did get it right with Jesse Puljujarvi, and that makes up for a lot. Against the Flames on Friday, Puljujarvi scored a big goal and the Edmonton Oilers beat the Calgary Flames 2-1. Kurt Leavins and Bruce McCurdy of the Cult of Hockey dig in.
Larsson played a solid game and Barrie is looking real good lately too

I always believed that he would turn into a solid NHL player, I just never in a million years thought that it would be for the Oilers. So nice having a patient GM.

JJKhaira coming back from what seemed like dead is crazy to me. This is the best I’ve seen him play, and it warms my heart. I didn't think he had it in him. Throwback to his 11-12 BCHL season with 29g-50a-79pts- in 54 gp.
Khaira's line is making this team so much better.

Really glad Haas got a goal. I really like that dude as 4 C. He can skate, is tall and lanky with a good reach. He plays smart hockey, and is solid defensively, and plays on the PK.

Barrie really finding his game. Yeah got beat, but it's gonna happen to everyone. There's alot of talented offensive players. You can't pin one beat on his overall game. Keep up the great work Oilers 💪

Stop breaking up lines that work. I miss the old school coaches who just relied on their eyes and could see that certain players play well together. Coaches over-think everything now.

I've also been wondering about Turris on the wing. The experiment at center seems to have gone nowhere so why not see if he can find a way to be effective at the wing. There are a number of good problems with this team. Seems like it's finally starting to come together. Lots of legit NHL depth 👍

Agreed but I would love to see the X be nygard for a while. One thing is forsure this year we have a ton of forwards to experiment with.

Barrie has looked good in general, but his huge mistakes are really jaw dropping. He's got to clean those up if we want any hope of winning a playoff series against a decent team.

This game was lethargic, these guys were not even sweating. Thankfully the flames played with less energy.

Hey, I thought she was WAY better tonight than last time we had to hear her. She complimented nuge's defensive game (not enough people do) and made a good comment about McDavid learning to pass to barrie. Maybe she'll get better over time.
Her comment on the lucic trip made me laugh tho. "He was trying to get out of the way" lady he extended the leg and everything lmao
I like her commentary in intermissions, but not her color commentary in play by play.
I've seen enough Russell Flop. Russell out, Jones in. Lags also can't get back in fast enough for me.
