Got those goosebumps. Sure indication of a response of prayer. The Noronhas have come together to honour this great st this year. I guess you wrote the lyrics, Oscar. ❤❤
Wow Oscar Congretulationsyes this hym is a masterpiece really you have inscribed on the hearts of every Goan..even listing to millions times memories of my younger days runs in my mind well arranged and sound quality is upto the international mark . Keep the good works
Was extremely emotional when I heard both hymns of St. Francis Xavier, this hymn and the other one "San Francis Xaviera, vodda kounwra, rath dis amchea mogan" ... (my konkani spellings are off, sorry) . I visited twice last month (3rd and 7th day of the Exposition) and attended the konkani and English mass. I didn't mind at all when they sang the konkani hymn after the english mass. Such a nostalgic and emotional moment for me which I'll forever cherish, both the veneration and the hymns. Cried my heart out whilst they were singing. This visit was extra special for me as we are now allowed to touch the casket. We were so lucky to finish with the veneration, first time in 25 mins. and the second time in 15 mins. My previous veneration was in '85, when I got married. Back then, the public weren't allowed to touch the casket. Perhaps an idea for the songwriters to translate these hymns in English, although I still prefer the konkani versions. Here in Dubai, our Konkan community celebrate the feast but the few times I've attended, they didnt sing the konkani hymn. I approached the choir and asked why not. They gave some vague response without any logical reasoning about Goans and Manglorians celebrating ... 😒. I haven't attended the mass in Dubai after that. To me, being old fashioned, I believe that certain traditional things are worth doing. These two konkani hymns are synonymous with St Francis Xavier and His feast on 3rd Dec and GOA.
I just visited this Sunday since in Goa after 7 years n yes I too have tears running when the Konkani song is being sung always during any ladin be it to Mother Mary, Cross feast or St. Anthony. May St. Francis Xavier bless n protect us all. As I am active in the church wud teach the Dubai choir to sing this hymn as it is so precious to us from our childhood days. Be blessed with good health, joy, peace of our Lord n Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen
BEM COMPOSTO MELHORMENTE EXECUTADO E ESPIRITUALMENTE SIGNIFICATIVO E BEM DUMA ALMA GOÊSA. SUPERBO. QUE MAIS SEJAM FEITOS APROVEITANDO DA EXPOSIÇÃO. POR CERTO QUE VÃO CANTAR AMANHA PARA A MISSA PORTUGUESA? PARABENS E MAIS COMPOSIÇÕES RELIGIOSAS BASEADAS NOS HINOS EM COMCANIM. BOA NOITE E BEM DESCANSADA NA COMPANHIA DOS TEUS MAIS QUERIDOS, UM GRANDE ABRAÇO DE FELICITAÇÕES, MINGUINHO
Viva Oscar. A tradução e o arranjo são muito apreciados e trouxeram-me lágrimas de emoção. Muito obrigado e abraços. Álvaro
