You haven't convinced me to convert to Catholicism (yet), but you have demonstrated a huge respect and compassion that have given me a much better opinion of Catholic apologists. On a lighter note, why do Catholics talk about evangelization, but Protestants talk about evangelism? Two very similar yet slightly different words.

@@universalunion6989 Catholics believe 1. that we are saved by Christ and Christ alone. There is only 1 mediator - Jesus. Catholics believe we are saved by Jesus alone. 2. that Catholics don't earn salvation through good works. Salvation is a free gift from God. Nothing that we do can earn this gift, which is freely given through God's grace and no work we do can earn this salvation. This is what INITIAL SALVATION is about - earned entirely through God's grace and not through human works. This is why Ephesians 2:1-9 first started recounting our sinful lives and then subsequently saying it is by grace that we are saved and not by works. Same for Gal 2:16 which also points to the gift of initial salvation. 3. Once we accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, we must continue with good works to merit eternal life. Good works proved that we are saved, worthy of being saved and we need to continue to be justified, growing in justice and righteousness. Rev 2:10 ask us to be faithful until death and the crown of life shall be given. We are forgiven and declared righteousness by God at the beginning of our Christian life. This is the same position Catholics and Protestants hold in common. God wants us to grow in righteousness over the course of our earthly Christian life. This means doing good works. This requirement is found all over scriptures: A. Gal 6:7-9 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. B Phil 2:12 continue to WORK OUT your salvation with fear and trembling C. Matt 13:36-37 Jesus ask the young man who wanted eternal life to do good (=keeping the commandments) “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.” “Which ones?” he inquired. Jesus replied, “‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, honor your father and mother, and ‘love your neighbor as yourself. D. Romans 8:1-14 St Paul tells us we must be Christ like and continue to live our lives in Christ to do good works that please God "In order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit." E. Gal 5:19-21. There is no guarantee that anyone who has accepted Christ will proceed to live a model Christian life otherwise scriptures will not be warning us. "The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God." F. Romans 2:6-7 God will reward those who performs good works God “will repay each person according to what they have done. To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life" G. Romans 3:28 says faith and good works go hand in hand : "For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law." H. James 2:17 " In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead." I. James 2:24 "You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and NOT by faith alone" J Matt 25:31-46 Jesus shall separate out those who do good works vs those who don't. Those who do will go to Heaven. "Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me." To summarise : Catholics hold the same belief as Protestants in believing Initial Salvation is a free gift from God. No good works can earn us this gift. After we enter into Christ, we must do good works so that we can be growing in righteousness, and not the lukewarm water that Jesus will spit out in Rev 3:16. Christians need to continuously be justified over the course of our lives in accordance to the requirements of the scripture verses above. It cannot be assumed anyone who enters in Jesus will automatically do good deeds. Those who don't risk losing their initial gift of salvation as these scripture passages have shown.
Sure, why not. Maybe pray about the best way to invite someone. Or maybe just ask a general question like if you don't go to church, what is the reason? It's sometimes good to take polls and understand where people are at so you can then best evangelize them.
You make interesting effective points on how to persuade. These techniques work with spreading truth or error. Be sure you are spreading truth. Question, what is Jesus teaching in this verse? John 3:3 (NASB95) Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
It's referring to baptism which is brought out in verse 5 of being born again by water and the spirit. All of the earliest Christians and Christians down through the ages unanimously said this referred to baptism. God bless
@@CatholicTruthOfficial Thank you for your reply. The context as I see it is, Nicodemus comes to Jesus as a man concern about how to get into the kingdom of God. Jesus seems to read his mind and He answers the question that Nicodemus seems to be wanting to ask him. There was a talk radio show about a sort of civil rights issue. And this woman kept insisting her point of view was correct , defending them so much so that she claimed that it was distinctly stated as such ( her views) in the Bible. The talk show host asked her where in the Bible. She promptly gave the host a particular chapter and verse of where she wanted the host to see. He told I I see nothing of this of what you say in any shape or form. She indignantly state “ OH YES IT US WRITTEN IN THE BIBLE. RIGHT HERE IN THE OUTSIDE BORDER IN PENCIL!” The talk show host chuckles softly as not to upset her. And then ended the interview. These are the worst if ot you almost have to say :” OKAY JESUS YOU TAKE THIS ONE. IT IS TOO FAR ABOVE MY PAY GRADE. I WILL PRAY FOR HER OR HIM THE CASE MAYBE. “. There are limitations to my abilities. I have to recognize this fact and not the be all haughty and prideful. God gave us the virtue of humility for a reason. We are humans but with God’s intervention and prayers we have the possibilities of doing His work. Thank you for this video. I am passing it on to my other Catholic friends and my Quad group.
I just don’t get why so many believers are so impatient with preaching who try to force people to come back to Christianity Brian Mercier of Catholic Truth.
It's Bryan Mercier, and he doesn't force anyone to anything. We present the truth and people have to freedom to accept or not. If your going to accuse someone of something like that then you need facts to back it up. Otherwise it's just bias or mere opinion.
Yes, it's wrong to force our belief or faith to people because God gave each one of us free will. God Himself does not force us to accept His free gift of salvation, so who are we to force anyone to embrace Catholicism? We just present them the truth but it's up to them whether to accept it or not. "I am now giving you the choice between life and death, between God's blessing and God's curse, and I call heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Choose life." - Deuteronomy 30:19
Don't worry about that. If you do it with great love and sincerity, most will not be offended. People need to be offended today and made uncomfortable so we can plant the seeds of truth. Pray for God's grace and discernment to know how and when how much you should do it. Ask him to give you opportunities. :)
We may not be so much impressed with the preaching of a Christian as we are more attracted, as a first step, to his personality, decency, maturity, assurance of faith and wholeness which are lacking in our character.

Please don´t take this the wrong way, but I would clarify something to him first, and that is that same sex attraction is not a sin itself, is a temptation, giving in to that temptation is what would be a sin. God loves him just as he loves us all, and he wants us to live holy lives, and learning to resist those temptations is a big part of that. Of course learning to resist temptations is not easy, those are different for everyone, but God do loves him. And the Catholic Church is not going to be against him for having same sex attraction, it is there to help him get over his sins and get him closer to Jesus and live that holier life God wants us to live.
@@CatholicTruthOfficial On October 13 2016, he said (in Italian) "Non é lecito convincerli della tua fede." Which translates as "It is not licit to convince them of your faith". Br. Peter's most recent video shows that and more of his heresies.
Saints still commit sin when they were still alive. Living saints or holy people like Bryan, like me (lol joke only) still commit sins every day. The living saints are still sinners. Bryan is still a sinner like me (Now I'm not joking about myself). Why? Because a holy person who commits only deliberate and indeliberate venial sins everyday are still sinners. A very holy person who commits only one indeliberate venial sin per day is still a sinner. A holy person can still fall into mortal sin but with exceptions. But these holy people belong to the category of repenatnt sinners, meaning to say, everytime they commit sin, they rise immediately from their fall by sincere repentance. There are 2 kinds of sinner: 1) repentant sinners (where living saints or holy people or the faithful belong) 2) unrepentant sinners (where malicious hardened obstinate sinners belong)
"If you see any brother or sister commit a sin that does not lead to death, you should pray and God will give them life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that you should pray about that. All wrongdoing is sin, and there is sin that does not lead to death." - 1 John 5:16-17 The sins that do not lead to death of our souls are venial sins. The sins that lead to death of our souls are mortal sins.
Mat 23:9 - And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. Old English papa, via ecclesiastical Latin from ecclesiastical Greek papas ‘bishop, patriarch’, variant of Greek pappas ‘father’. Clearly this is blasphemy.

When you don't have the ability to see past your own cynicism and hurts, then you don't realize simple truths like sometimes people write books in order to help people and to give them the answers they're looking for. People ask me these questions for 20 years and have answered them thousands of times, so I finally just put them in a book for everybody so that anyone who has questions about faith, or god, or things of that nature, they can get the book and get the answers for themselves. You really shouldn't assume the worst of people without knowing their motives or causes. That's called shallow judgmentalism. But we still love you.

Thank u so much for this vid, it’s so crazy cause today I was approached by some Christians telling me that I’m following the wrong faith because of the whole Passover argument. I unfortunately got too flustered due to them not understanding where I’m coming from which made me not understand them, I definitely need more patience thanks again
Our pleasure.

Wow, this channel is so important
You haven't convinced me to convert to Catholicism (yet), but you have demonstrated a huge respect and compassion that have given me a much better opinion of Catholic apologists. On a lighter note, why do Catholics talk about evangelization, but Protestants talk about evangelism? Two very similar yet slightly different words.
Thank you for this :)
Quick question..for those who don't evangelise does this mean there is no salvation for them even if they live a life for God?

Catholics believe
1. that we are saved by Christ and Christ alone.
This requirement is found all over scriptures:
A. Gal 6:7-9
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
B Phil 2:12 continue to WORK OUT your salvation with fear and trembling
C. Matt 13:36-37 Jesus ask the young man who wanted eternal life to do good (=keeping the commandments)
“Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”
“Which ones?” he inquired.
Jesus replied, “‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, honor your father and mother, and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.
D. Romans 8:1-14 St Paul tells us we must be Christ like and continue to live our lives in Christ to do good works that please God
"In order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit."
I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God."
F. Romans 2:6-7 God will reward those who performs good works
God “will repay each person according to what they have done. To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life"
G. Romans 3:28 says faith and good works go hand in hand :
"For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law."
H. James 2:17
" In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead."
I. James 2:24
"You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and NOT by faith alone"
J Matt 25:31-46 Jesus shall separate out those who do good works vs those who don't. Those who do will go to Heaven.
"Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me."
To summarise :
Catholics hold the same belief as Protestants in believing Initial Salvation is a free gift from God.
@@jeremiahong248I as an evangelical Protestant, I acknowledge that the Catholic gospel and the gospel I hold too are two different gospels.
can you do apologetics on pagan greek ' deity' and hindu 'deity'
No, not yet. Sorry.
Is it ok to post on a Facebook group on inviting them to church? If so, how should I approach it or what should I say?
Do you believe that Jesus is telling Nicodemus that he must be baptized to get into the kingdom of God? If so are there any other requirements to get into the kingdom of God?
If you question they may get angry. My brother got agitated once i asked questions. He didnt like that.

@@CatholicTruthOfficial The fact that I can’t visit a church do to me not having my driving license and if I ask them to take me they simply wouldn’t. I want to repent from my sins and be baptized so that I will be able to spend an eternity with my true father.
If you can't make it to Mass and there is no way to, it's not a sin. You should look into getting baptized though ASAP. You will probably have to call a local Catholic Church and tell them the situation and tell them you want to get baptized and see what they say. Let us know. :)
@@CatholicTruthOfficial okay thanks
@Julie Hillebrand. The incident you have related is a clear example of weaponizing the bible. It is used to win, vanquish and conquer.

@@CatholicTruthOfficial Thank you for your tips, I take them with heart and make sure that people know God. God bless you.
We may not be so much impressed with the preaching of a Christian as we are more attracted, as a first step, to his personality, decency, maturity, assurance of faith and wholeness which are lacking in our character.
For sure!

Forgive me, for I have sinned. It is very very hard to not challenge my hard core baptist brother's false ideas about the Catholic Church. I realize he has been taught wrongly by those who are equally uninformed or deliberately lie about the Church due to bias for various reasons.

So i do not know what else to do. Please help me i am a new convert i raised my son in new age religion so i feel at fault here but i was so ignorant to the truth
First, hes just attacking you because he wants to justify himself. When in fact 2 wrongs don't make a right.
Second, I would pray for him a lot. And third I would let him know that you love him no matter what. Even if you have discussions with him, you can be kind about it, and I'm sure you were, but keep letting him know the truth and pricking his conscience that he doesn't like. From time to time, not often. You have to let God do the heavy lifting.
We also have some videos on homosexuality. Which I would recommend you watch to get the information that might help you in the future, Especially the second video. If you have further questions, just let us know.

Didn't Antipope Francis say that it's illicit to convince people of your faith? If you're trying to evangelize people, you're disobeying your "Pope".

So we shouldn't be like St. Nicholas and slap heroics? Lol
Lol.
There are 2 kinds of sinner:
1) repentant sinners (where living saints or holy people or the faithful belong)
2) unrepentant sinners (where malicious hardened obstinate sinners belong)
"For a just man shall fall seven times and shall rise again: but the wicked shall fall down into evil." - Proverbs 24:16
"If you see any brother or sister commit a sin that does not lead to death, you should pray and God will give them life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that you should pray about that. All wrongdoing is sin, and there is sin that does not lead to death." - 1 John 5:16-17
The sins that do not lead to death of our souls are venial sins.

Another person selling "My Book"!!! That restores my faith...NOT!!!
