Nothing but love and respect for Nebraska and their program growing up. I sure miss that rivalry the way it was.. nobody I knew disliked Nebraska.. matter of fact we cheered early in the season for them every year so when we play them they would be unbeaten
Very few linemen were over 250 in those days. They had to keep their hands pinned to their chests to block, so they had to be agile and fast, especially when blocking in those high-powered running games.
What was that receiver thinking with that clip? Simms was gone, why was he even running that close to the action? Simms would've had 300 if it wasn't for that.
It was a joy to behold watching OU & Nebraska,
I was there that day.. thank you for letting me go back in time
32:40 My pops is #53 for Nebraska. Is certainly telling his grandchildren about that play.... Thanks for the post!

Oklahoma had one heck of a backfield!
My first Oklahoma game in person what a great game Billy Sims was fantastic
People forget how good JC Wayts was
@@rpm324yes and good Congressman from Oklahoma too!
I remember I had a CB radio in my car and listened to the Huskers crying on their way back home.
thanks for the upload.
Great game, darn Sooners always had enough big plays to win back in those days.
Sims would have won the Heisman again if the voting was after this game
The name I.M. Hipp always made me chuckle
We called him IM Hit
as much as Boobie Clark?
Still think he had the best name for his position
Then Jarvis’s redwine
Same here. I. M. Hipp.
The defense stood strong at the end. Nebraska's D gave them a chance also. It usually always came down to OU vs NU for the Orange Bowl.
Love Billy sim, my hero
232 at guard??

It was an accident he was trying to get out of the defensive backs way
Is th;is missing a series? I seem to recall Andy Means getting his arm broken trying to tackle Sims, plus a long first-half run by Sims seems missing.
Besides Keith Jackson, who was the other announcer? Sounds really familiar.
That was Ara Parseghian.
@@steelbuck6777 Actually it's Frank Broyles.
@@dsfddsgh Ah you're right, thanks for the correction.
37:59 I think #51 wanted Billy's autograph but picked the wrong time to ask.
m626m I think that you're right!!!
Don Key Pasadena TX
