I'll also add that some of these songs are growers, loved both this one and Lost Cause when they came out, but multiple listens only make the songs more enjoyable to hear. @Novelists you say you are having fun and it shows, and that's very refreshing as a listener. For those mentioning Matt, I'd point out that these guys and Matt are still pretty close, but artists have their creative necessities and differences, so it's great to see Sal3m and Novelists do their thing. It's illogical to me to complain when instead of choosing option 1 or option 2, you can have both...and they're both great. But that's just my opinion of course. Cheers

I love the transition from the heavy, hardcore main section to the moist, bluesy guitar solo. I was overwhelmed by the development of the intense guitar solo that came right after I thought so. It is a gem of a song filled with the charm of the guitar.
Ok I know I’m late saying this but you guys said you were gonna find someone who could keep the novelists alive and fighting strong while bringing a new feel and you DID. While you can’t replace Matteo, Tobias set out doing exactly what you told us. Old novelists will always hold a special place in my heart but I am excited for your future. If you listen closely, you can hear the synths accentuate the heaviness in the riffs which is very similar to what Northlane does. That chorus is pretty special and I love the vocal diversity in the whole songs! The solo is pretty special as well and kudos to Flo for using a wah on this one, it's so refreshing to hear it in modern metal! Well done boys, bring out more stuff like this as it is a banger!

The band really took a turn, musically speaking, since Matteo left. Not taking anything away from Tobi, he's doing a great job, but Matt is almost irreplacable. It's a different Novelists we have today, but I feel like it's gonna take time for me to remove that Matteo-era from my head

Tobi does almost the same scream as Matteo, Tobi can and will sing the same melodies matteo created. Tobi also creates sweet clean melodies. The change isn't about the singer, but the band. I love matteo, don't get me wrong.

@@91earthlink I think you're very narrow minded if you think creativity = being a technical band. We have created 3 records that prove we are able to do just that, but creativity comes in all forms and right now we want to explore the sonic aspect of it.
I still love the older sound more but this one is really nice and definitely slaps harder than Lost Cause. I'll miss Matteo in the band but at least there's Sal3m, so now we have 2 great bands putting out good music, wish much love and success to both groups and I can definitely say that these boys have a bright future with Tobias.
Wow, definitely the best solo I've heard in a long time. I had to listen to it like 20 time already. The shred part reminds me a bit of the solo from Requiem - Avenged Sevenfold, Hail to the king album. I'm super excited to listen to some more songs.

Honestly Matteo had a unique voice inside Novelists, he had a incredible range of vocals and a clean voice so much different from the others groups in the scene. Speaking about Tobi, he made a huge changing inside Novelists, starting from the sounds and the heaviness, totally different from Matteo where it was more technical parts more similar to djent, here instead we have more heavier sound and more similar to metal-core. I'm gonna be honest I lived Matteo's era, and it will be always my favorite Novelists, but in the end I like Tobi's work too, nothing to say, I hurt my neck with the last two songs in the same way I hurt my neck for the past songs. I just want to say that this is a great work of chaining, and when bands wants to change, I'm always happy and here to support more than before. Can't wait to hear now songs and too see you soon live! I'm proud of you.

Had to go back and listen to this. Really glad that I did. I love the Metalcore/Industrial sound of these guys. Mad props on the great mix of the 2 styles.
I respect their decision to try something new and go for a new sound, but this isn't for me. Novelists used to be so original - and that's why I loved them - but this new stuff just sounds like every other djent/modern metal band out there at the moment. Again, I salute their decision to make the music they want to make and I wish them the best of luck.
I love both the old Novelists and this new one. I just think they're two very different bands. I would suggest a name change, keep Novelists as it was and go forth as a phoenix with this new sound with a new name. Whatever you do though, I will support you guys. Keep it up!
Novelists was never a sound, it's us and what we decide to do with it is ours. I wouldn't even feel guilty if we decided to release a country album to be honest. As long as it comes from the bond we have together, then it's NOVELISTS

I must agree. I love the old sound so very much. I’m all for a band evolving. It’s only the verses so far for me. As always the guitar playing is amazing. It’s what drew me in the first place. And the chorus has banging melody. I like that. Much more than the first single. I’ll miss the old but happily embrace the new.

That solo was so refreshing 😌
I respect their decision to try something new and go for a new sound, but this isn't for me. Novelists used to be so original - and that's why I loved them - but this new stuff just sounds like every other djent/modern metal band out there at the moment. Again, I salute their decision to make the music they want to make and I wish them the best of luck.
I dont think there's any djent element in their new stuff.They go further into the modern hardcore or rock side.

I love both the old Novelists and this new one. I just think they're two very different bands. I would suggest a name change, keep Novelists as it was and go forth as a phoenix with this new sound with a new name. Whatever you do though, I will support you guys. Keep it up!
Novelists was never a sound, it's us and what we decide to do with it is ours. I wouldn't even feel guilty if we decided to release a country album to be honest. As long as it comes from the bond we have together, then it's NOVELISTS
@@Novelists Never said you should feel guilty. The new material bangs! The name change was just my personal feeling of how this is a brand new chapter what feels like a brand new band. Also the fact that I've been a fan of Alazka and Novelists for a long time, to me this feels like a combination of them. I'm all for it though, NOVELISTS forever!

I must agree. I love the old sound so very much. I’m all for a band evolving. It’s only the verses so far for me. As always the guitar playing is amazing. It’s what drew me in the first place. And the chorus has banging melody. I like that. Much more than the first single. I’ll miss the old but happily embrace the new.
This is what Hacktivist coulda been like too tbh. Idk what happened to them. Their self titled EP was stunning and in a similar vein to this. Keep it up Novelists! ♥️
I’d heard a few of y’all’s songs and thought they were really good…and then…this. Oh…my…GOD! I can NOT stop listening to it! It’s amazing! And I can’t even BEGIN to describe how tasty the solo is…makes me smile, gives me chills, and want to bang my head at the same time! Awesome!
