Season 4 Episode 12: After Anita Wooldridge was found missing from her home in Indiana, detectives suspect she was abducted by a man from her fitness center. When authorities discover this man to be convicted rapist, they travel to Wisconsin, hoping to find Anita still alive.
The FBI Files is an American docudrama that takes a look behind the scenes of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's crime laboratory.
Real FBI cases are recounted through reenactments and interviews, due to the sensitive nature of the show, viewer discretion is advised.
I just looked her up. As part of her therapy to overcome her PTSD, she wrote a book. She's a victim advocate for children and gives speeches to law enforcement. Good for her working through that terror and pain to try to help. I hope she has some peace in her life. ❤
She has made a business of it.
This is why I love this series, the way that they lay out the story always keep you on your seat, but there are no unnecessary dramas, just a lot of facts to push the story forward.
Yes, I think the fact that there is very little noise of meaningless mini-dramas, this makes this series so powerful!
And free. Thank you.
Yes, they do a great job with the story telling and visuals
@@katherineleslie5855 lol and hell yeah its free! 🙌🏼
I agree!!
The way the FBI kept him away from the house, got a warrant and rescued.. Waited and followed the suspect for just the right moment. Textbook way to profile and avoid a suicide/homocide situation. Well done!
Homicide, not what you typed.
It's ANTI-SEMITIC to catch criminals.
FBI speak fluently and very clear to listen. Also the narrator the same .
Thank you.

This young lady was rescued because everyone worked as a team. All levels of Law enforcement did an amazing job. Well done!
Because the neighbors saw Victor
Women, when you're alone in your home, do NOT let a man inside. I think I remember this one, but an episode where the victim is found alive is worth watching 5 times. All the agencies involved worried about being on the wrong track, but without anywhere else to go, they followed their instincts and saved a woman's life. Bravo!
If it makes you feel any better, the vast majority of crime, including murders, are male on male. It's far more dangerous to be born a boy in this world than girl.

Facts.... The world is sick people PLZ be careful
This wasn’t the first time he’d abducted someone, I just thank God she’s alive. She’s a strong, intelligent woman. Good job Anita!
Great job FBI and Police officers.
I doubt it was just the second time. I'd like to know what he was up to in the 7 years between prison & his last attack. I find it hard to believe he waited that long to try again.
Glad that this story had a great ending.
Amazing job by law enforcement at all levels! I'm really glad that Anita was found alive and thankful for the dedication of the investigators.
The best part was when the scumbag who kidnapped her was like "I can't help you, get me out of here asap! I have places to be" Once he's in cuffs I would look at him and say "The only place you're going is a prison cell! We found Anita and she's alive. She told us everything you scumbag! Now you'll have places to be alright. A holding cell, courtroom and prison cell! Have a nice life!"
That young woman is a hero
Great job by law enforcement
Thank you for bringing her home
This true crime story inspired me to get "Eight Days In Darkness" by Anita Wooldridge and her therapist Angela Roegner, published in 2010, on Kindle. It already is an engrossing yet disturbing read but recommended for those who appreciated this episode of the FBI Files.
Oh, she wrote a book?
@@lucringo6798 Yes, absolutely!
This series continues to excel. Calm and well-written narration, understated acting, perpetrators apprehended and, in this instance, a good outcome. Thank you for the uploads. I wish all my fellow true crime fans a happy Christmas and a much better year ahead x
@William 989 well, he also claimed he was being spied on during his first campaign, with loud democrats claiming he was insane and paranoid, then it turns out to be the truth😜and what about the Democrat inspired riots against the police and trying to take over the building, are those people going to be brought to Justice or wil they get a pass because they are part of the Lunatic left!!?? I'll wait... .
Glad and grateful that you're alive, Anita! Great work by law officers!

It was a great comment, sorry it was hijacked, if only a little. I made a very similar comment a while back that went south and 39 replies later that included being told to get off my high horse, lady, I stopped commenting on anything for a month.

I love when these geniuses act as their own attorney. Makes it easier to lock them up.
It's like Karma's is their witness, ready to bashed their tiny brain into the wall....🤣🤣🤣
And we get to laugh at them during the process.
Well, you know when they act as their own attorney it always works out well for them. 🙄

Honest question. Are you using the phrase “bless her heart” as an insult? I’ve heard that in the south, that phrase was a nice way of pointing out how stupid someone was but skeptical.

I literally am hyperventilating as I watch this video because in 1974, a member of my family, my younger brother 3, I was five was kidnapped and abducted just like this when we get separated while playing in our own backyard. The outcome, was not the same, at 2 a.m. he was found hanging from a tree with barbed wire strangled, tortured, mutilated and he was only three years old he was my younger brother who I was babysitting. His name was craigie Alan Smith, this happened in Minneapolis Minnesota in 1974 and oh God what I like to tell my story about how it affected every family member
I am truly sorry that this happened to your brother and the rest of your family. May you find peace one day

Truly inspiring outcome!!! Great work! A lifetime achievement for the law enforcement officers involved. It makes one wonder -- what kind of psychopathology could lead to such behavior? Pity the poor behavioral profiler, having to try to answer that question for a living.

YES, Bravo to the co worker
I agree with your comment because so many people prefer not to become involved
🌹🌹🌹
She let him into her house when he randomly showed up after sexually harassing her at the gym to the point where his membership had to be terminated? I'm not victim blaming her at all but even in rural Indiana in 1998 that astonishes me. There's gracious and polite and there's just plain naive.
Naive and plainly stupid
She seems like optimistic and trusting person, naive, yes, but more in a kind way. She probably thought she's helping somebody who's struggling in their life. It's possible she was in some formal contact with him occasionally, as him showing up randomly at her door didn't raise suspicion.
I don't know what neighborhood it was, but there are certainly neighborhoods where it's common to let strangers in, because it's safe and usually people need help. If somebody knocked on my door i'd open them up without checking or asking who it is. Hell the doors are always unlocked, even at night, been so for 25 years, worst thing that ever happened is that somebody came in and left small gifts and we didn't know who it was.
