I'm so white I never even heard of the Grand National til I was 40. Gotta tip your hat to the first muscle that scares and excites young people to become gear heads. For me it was getting in our family's sad little Chevy spectrum for work as a teenager and looking over as our neighbor would fire up his 80's El Do and hearing that rumble as he backed out (over the sound of my own rattling, chicken-wired on muffler). He always gave it just enough gas to blat blat and break traction for a split second and it got my blood pumping every time. Then I saw Gine in 60 seconds and Delroy Lindo and and James Duvall. Hearing that rev man, it instantly took me back. I will have one before I die
We need to keep these old beauties alive ! Once there gone they ain't coming back
