I hope you recovered completely. When I was in JH I decided to see our varsity teams match and my mom decided to check it out. One of the guys on our team suffered a very similar injury with an open fracture. She still hates wrestling because of it, even though football messed me up and wrecked my knees. Life happens when you live it, huh?
@@nijel2003 this guy is a decade older than when he commented lol but yeah. I seen a kid on my team get his arm snapped and it felt terrible to see em in pain but what the hell am I going to do about it? I walked up and told him hell be alright and that was really the extent of my abilities.
Similar thing happened to me last month. But instead of my elbow, I broke both bones in my forearm... it was during wrestling practice. Got surgery and everything.
Oh God.. this makes me cringe to see. I'm so glad they emphasized in my first martial art to never let your arm straight if you can avoid it. Hyper extension is all about angles and once you hit 180 degree or pass it, the muscle stops being as effective.
I guess that's why guys like Gable and Wade Schalles are so rare - they have that combination of skill, drive, and avoiding injuries that allow them to reach the peak in this VERY elite sport. I know of no other that demands so much of the entire person on sol many different levels for so long. For the IOC to even CONSIDER dropping wrestling makes no sense whatsoever, and demeans the purpose of having the games in the first place.
When you wrestle timidly, that's what will happen. One of my best friends stayed backed up in a corner, and when he was taken down he snapped his forearm. Wrestling is a sport that needs to be taken seriously, and you NEED to play aggressively.
I watched that exact same thing happen when I was in middle school. Side control with a head into the ribs to transition into a cradle. The problem is if the person puts their arm out in an attempt to stop from being rolled over, your opponents body weight will trump the arm; therefore, breaking it. Hope you healed up nice man !
I feel for you man. Didn't break anything, but my second match ever was agianst a West Covina girl and she dislocated my shoulder 40 seconds in and my coach made me wrestle the wrest of the tournment -___- smh. you got this though...keep strong and move on :D
My son wrestles about 110 matches a year and this happened very drastically to him bracing for a double-leg takedown. Palm flat with his and his opponents body weight both coming down. Elbow broke the wrong direction. Took a full year to heal from.
I watched a video once that was a collection of fairly gruesome injuries like this, sometimes in slow motion and close up. After awhile I became noxious and really felt ill. I hope the young man recovers from this serious injury.
Exact same thing happened to me wrestling about 3-4 weeks ago still can't fully straighten it. It doesn't feel like anything at first then the pain really hits you one of worse things I've ever done. And yea I missed regionals cuz of it
ahhh shit dude, the same thing happened to a kid at one of my freestyle tournys but his forearm snapped in half, for future reference try to not lock your elbow when ur in a weird position like that
:O holy shit, I cant watch this again!!! I'm a black belt in MMA and BJJ and TKD and Karate and Every time I get on the matt I'm tariffed of this happening to me :( I saw Every detail of that injury :{ that was really really bad :|
I have seen this happen several times. Hard to really call it a wrestling match gone bad. Its what happens when you try and plant your arm. Every time I have seen it though, its during a hip toss done incorrectly.
Hey man thats a crazy injury Look stuff happens A couple years back I injured my wrestling partner during practice with a similar injury except it was a very different position I had a merkle and I brought it to the mat, as I went to finish and bring him over me and put him to his back he posted his arm over my head at the last second, and as he went over top of me, he snapped his arm at the elbow. I felt horrible for weeks that this happened. I'm never out there to hurt the guy just to compete
Did u guys see how his hand bent at 0:28 well mine snapped and was fucking twisted the other direction his lucky I went through two fucking surgery. Still I feel bad for him.
I didn't notice what happened until rewinding and according to the recent comments in here some people have never wrestled or did and just weren't any good at it. These things happen hope his arm ended up okay.
Did u ever get full rang of motion back in your are? I had a radial head fracture 3 1/2 mths ago and I don't feel I will b able to extend my arm all the way out or up. Have u had this problem and did it get better! Thx
For this reason in BJJ we allow ourselves to get rolled on our backs pull guard then continue to fight from there. Why risk a dislocated elbow when I can simply submit my opponent from guard? Much safer and half the effort.
@CODbeast0078 it doesn't matter how much milk you drink, if your elbow is bent in a way its not meant to be bent and hard enough, it will break for sure
Props to that ref. He was on the kid quick, and calling for a trainer ASAP.

Sean C M lol
Eeeeeeeeeew!!!
Sean C M I'll fold you up like an accordion. You Wimp!💪👊
I watched it and so that every thing was ok I looked back over it and his arm broke
Brock Smeal same i thought he was just hurt but then i went back and saw his bone completely snapped💀
No it was dislocated at the elbow.
Same I was ready to dislike but I watched one more time and saw his arm
Dislocated elbow... I did the very same thing.
0:28 breaks his left arm
Fuck I knew what was gonna happened n still clicked it nasty bruh
I like how your coach just slowly walks to you. he must care a lot
hes like you just fucking lost get up
yes because him getting there 2 seconds earlier is going to do what?

My stepson plays baseball, football and wrestles. He says he's more sore after a wrestling meet than any football game.
husker hammer Sounds like he is ready for his participation trophy.
husker hammer no one even asked about your step son
actually the person above me commented...mind your own business.
Don't get on RUclips talking about my sons athletic ability
no need to be racist. It is sad that all you guys see is Color.

You're okay again and that's all that matters.
When you wrestle timidly, that's what will happen. One of my best friends stayed backed up in a corner, and when he was taken down he snapped his forearm. Wrestling is a sport that needs to be taken seriously, and you NEED to play aggressively.
Needa exchange that "play" with wrestle, good sir. Wrestling isn't a game. Literally lol
I've been an athletic trainer for 7 years and have seen 3 of the injuries before. they are pretty brutal.
Still a athletic trainer?
props to you bro for not even making a peep
That sent a chill through my body, I've had my elbows popped in Jiu-Jitsu and now there not the same so I can't imgaine your situation.
Good Luck

I've disloacted my elbow twice. It's tough man, started wearning a brace and no problems.
Your pain tolerance must be well above average. For something so painful you hardly showed any discomfort.
i know that Ref he coached at a couple of my meets for my wrestling matches this school year!
nobody caressss
"That's why I drink enough milk to hose down an aircraft carrier."
Now idk if I can watch anymore knowing that they probably broke a bone about the milk comment :/
@@NateIsgreat38 It's okay, until the milk starts dripping out.
Lifelong Reading lol
I hate how a bunch of people that can't really help come rushing over, while the actual first aid people are nowhere to be found.
Nice, I love seeing big sweaty kids go at it.
I feel for you man. Didn't break anything, but my second match ever was agianst a West Covina girl and she dislocated my shoulder 40 seconds in and my coach made me wrestle the wrest of the tournment -___- smh. you got this though...keep strong and move on :D
Best ref I've seen so far.
I already knew someone's elbow was gonna blow out
Dammmnnnn. Hope you had a good recovery 🙏
Hope you heal fast. also hope the guy that did it paid for it afterwards
guy in the black is just grabbing the opponents headgear, like what the hell man.
Sick Brah. I quit wrestling a couple years back. Started play LAX
An elbow fracture is a sign of disrespect from the person who broke the elbow!!
AAAW dude nasty!! Dang bro that sucks!! Out for the season?
I was waiting for a fight!

at first i thought the ref was holding your balls, but then i read your blurb, ouch
10 years ago and this just popped up as one of the latest videos??
Shit!!! That arm looked baaad!
That must of sucked! Looks like he was about to put you in a cradle.
This how much people wants to be in wwe
Thanks for the description, I can avoid me the cringe. It can happen so quickly
Exact same thing happened to me wrestling about 3-4 weeks ago still can't fully straighten it. It doesn't feel like anything at first then the pain really hits you one of worse things I've ever done. And yea I missed regionals cuz of it
Wow that must suck
cool
Yeah me too
I ain't watching it. Glad you recovered.
I feel his pain. My last match ended with a shoulder dislocation and an ambulance ride to the hospital.....
This match is like battle of the scrubs
Well done Ref😊
Oh shitt that look excruciatingly painful
That’s one tough dude!
saw almost the exact same thing at college nationals except the guy was like back peddling on his hands and it just looks nasty!
After seeing this i will never try to brace even when falling short distances
Ouch!!! Hope you're OK again now bro?
its fun to watch but painful to perform
I didn’t see it at first. The I rewinded and ewwww
The other coach in the grey shirt with the hat holds his elbow after he sees that kids snap lol and then he starts shaking his arm.
Holy shit, could have been worse, so far every wrestling tournament I've gone to someone broke there neck, and I've got to like 6
u ok now?
The least the winner could do was go to his opponent and ask, "Dude, are you all right?"
har to watch. it looks really bad. i hope he recovered well.
I watched it once didn’t understand watched it a second time saw it broken watched it a 3 and bam I saw everything
ahhh shit dude, the same thing happened to a kid at one of my freestyle tournys but his forearm snapped in half, for future reference try to not lock your elbow when ur in a weird position like that

damn that sucks... btw what weight class was this?
Damn, I'm going to the fridge and drinking more milk right this instant.
That hurts. Hurts more reseting it 😪
Ouch! Hope you healed up ok.
Never knew crabs could wrestle...
I have seen this happen several times. Hard to really call it a wrestling match gone bad. Its what happens when you try and plant your arm. Every time I have seen it though, its during a hip toss done incorrectly.
Yup I hip tossed a guy 7 seconds into a match a he posted going over and was done...POP went his elbow.
You hate to see a dislocated elbow but at least it wasnt a knee.
Are you back at it again this season?
Hey man thats a crazy injury Look stuff happens A couple years back I injured my wrestling partner during practice with a similar injury except it was a very different position I had a merkle and I brought it to the mat, as I went to finish and bring him over me and put him to his back he posted his arm over my head at the last second, and as he went over top of me, he snapped his arm at the elbow. dang dude!! you got me scared now XD
Press 5 really fast and the wrestler and the ref in the back do the same creepy leg twitch
I didn't notice what happened until rewinding and according to the recent comments in here some people have never wrestled or did and just weren't any good at it. These things happen hope his arm ended up okay.
Been there, done that. 100% legal and a normal wrestling hazard. I've shot once by doing an arm pull and actually dislocated the guy's shoulder.
Did u ever get full rang of motion back in your are? I had a radial head fracture 3 1/2 mths ago and I don't feel I will b able to extend my arm all the way out or up. Have u had this problem and did it get better! Thx

How did the healing process go for you?
Aye chihuahua. They really don't train ya how to not snap your arm, do they?
How many had to replay to see what happened?
Can you pop it back into place looked like his arm was twisited the wring way
I feel bad for the wrestler. One freak move and elbow snaps.
haha dude exact same thing happened to me this year....still managed to wrestle in the very last tournament...how bout you?
at least he healed. :)
for those who don't see it, the kid in the blue singlet snaps his arm at 0:26. painful to watch
Looks like he has broken that arm in the same place before
I saw some guy get slammed then get his shoulder dislocated and then pop it back in, it looked super painful lol
he embraced the grind😂
OWNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@CODbeast0078 it doesn't matter how much milk you drink, if your elbow is bent in a way its not meant to be bent and hard enough, it will break for sure
Where was this I might’ve been at that match
Shit that must've hurt so bad
that was fuggin brutal
maybe it's cause i can see it as something that can happen to me cause i wrestle
but that was fuggin brutal
Lol. the person that made this video has a picture that is the click bait of this video. lol I can't stop laughing
wow! hope your elbow is back to normal.
Always land on your elbow chief
Is this in Montana?
what tournament did this happen at? i think i saw this happen when i wrestled
wrestling is just way too epic
Is this in Indiana? If so I wrestled at Brownsburg.
this injury is what can happen if you refuse to tap-out while caught in an arm bar
