No matter what many of you say, I loved the "Cher effect" in her voice. It must have been very risky and difficult to do this autotune effect live. I loved that!
You don't know how autotune works do you? Lol. I'm a singer, done live shows, there's no risk or difficulty in using autotune live.
She does sound great though, the only "risk" would be the judges thinking that she was relying on it too much, which I don't think she was. It was used perfectly

Dear Cynthia, this performance was full of poise, energy and passion, I do feel that autotune was a bad decision to make. I am sure in my mind that the decision to use it was out of your hands, any mentor should know that it is not right to use such a voice enhancement with such a young artist like yourself, your classically trained voice simply does not need it. This has been valuable experience for you, your positive reactions do you credit, be proud of your achievement and move forward, you have a magical career ahead.
She chose the song herself and Espen Lind, her coach,wasnt too keen on the song choice.....who knows, maybe she wanted to have that effect. Seems like she does try to immitate the artiat she covers (her Celine Dion cover was also pretty similar to Celine)" She should’ve chosen to show her own personality in the voice instead.
@@In_my_own_mind Using an Autotune was not Cynthia's choice it was her mentors. A Classically trained Singer like Cynthia would never want to Autotune their voice. As for imitating any singer, I have to totally disagree, Cynthia performs with passion, poise and with a maturity way beyond her years but would never over-exert herself with imitation. Professional vocal coaches ensure this does not happen.
@@Vinnyws747 How do you even know?You are not even Norwegian. Espen Lind, her mentor, has an amazing voice himself,and I find it hard to believe he chose that effect . He is not that kind of artist, There is a reason he chose the song for her last time...to let her show another side/her personality. This song was her own choice, not his. iI think her, this one and the Celine Dion song sounded like she was imitating the original. Go and listen to it again. I just say why I think people voted for the others instead (they made the songs in their own version and showed their personal voice more)). iI dont think the reason she is out was only because of the effect on her voice. I think she has an amazing voice as I said, but so does the other 5 contestants who perdormed this evening. Sverre had an incredible distinctive voice and he didnt go to the final either.

@@In_my_own_mind When it came to how the song was chosen, the song was indeed Cynthia's choice however, Cynthia has publicly stated that the choice of using Autotune was the choice of either The Voice or Espen Lind's. It might be that you are not comfortable with that choice but, there is no way that an 18 year old who has been carefully schooled from an early age and has the experience of being schooled at a prestigious institute like Drammen would deliberately harm their own chances by using such a horrible device like Autotune.
My own opinion on Autotune is, it should be Banned on all levels, its usage leans towards many of the offensive ways major record labels trawl their selfish ways today.
You are right when you say I am not Norwegian, I can speak Norwegian Fluently though, I have watched the Voice online, I am also Fluent in 7 other languages too and have more than 38 yrs in the UK Music industry both in Portugal (My Country of origin) and in the UK too.
I perfectly understand that you would want to defend Espen Lind's mentoring but, either the TV company or Espen Lind chose the way the song was performed and chose to use Autotune, as previously stated, Cynthia has made a public statement on the subject.
With regard to whether there is Imitation of another artist I would just like to say with the greatest of respect to you, we each have our own opinions on the subject and I do really do respect your opinion on the subject.

Hands down the best voice, but the autotune threw me off. I was clearly not alone since she went out this round :(

Big mistake to choose this song, it was too similar to Cher's version, but still the greatest singer by far and the only one who actually took some risks.

Using autotune in a live singing competition is lunatic, even if the original song uses it. It's hard to judge someone's voice with the use of effects, I think whoever came up with this idea did her a huge disservice.
The thing is, they always use autotune and what we hear is the professionally mixed sound and not what they hear on stage or in their inears. It’s basically just a pitch correction so the overall sound is ok, especially in tv shows. I know it’s a singing competition, yet still a show and they want good quality aired. Now, in her case it’s been an effect they used which was not necessary in my opinion, since it’s not about covering a song as close to the original...well, at least you’d think🙈 She has a great voice there was no need for that little extra🤷🏼♀️ besides she looked like a young Shania Twain here😂
She should have done the slow version Adam Lambert made famous at the Kennedy Center honors for Cher.And Cher wad crying.
Choosing this song was a big mistake as it's song that focuses on everything but the voice, which is Cynthias strength. Espen made a mistake when he didn't make her choose another song.
According to Cynthia's Facebook page --- "As regards using autotune in the song - this is something I did not chose myself. But overall I am super happy with the song outcome."

When Cher used autotune/vocodor she used it as an effect much like guitarists use effects pedals to shape their sound. A Chorus effect sounds awesome with a voice but is primarily used for guitars. Chorus makes 1 person sound like 2 or 1 guitar sound lie 2. I think we all know Cynthia does not need autotune and I was surprised she used for the effect throughout the entire song .. had they turned it off during the verses it would have been a more natural for this performance. She is an amazing vocalist, it is a great song and unfortunate this wasn't thought through more thoroughly by the team. Cynthia you are Amazing keeps singing sweetheart .. your journey is just beginning .
Finally a NON ACOUSTIC version of this song! I really hate those performances of this song with the piano. it is SO cliché and repetitive and ABSOLUTELY boring. This is the best performance of a competition tv show I have ever seen! Congratulations!
Please, future “the Voice” contestants… stop singing acoustics of Believe… this song is powerful with its original instrumental.

She’s got a really nice tone and classy voice but damn, her Leonard Cohen performance was golden. I actually think she rather shines in less noisy songs, give her some Norah Jones or sth of that sort and let her do her thing...strong voice and beautiful tone! She doesn’t need that bang bang nonsense and surely not any kind of voice distortion effects!
If she would sing Memory like she did in greece competition (check it on youtube) she would be in the final--wrong song choice. She was my favourite and I voted for her--very sad

Miss Cynthia you could sing any genre you want you sing Lara Fabian and Celine dion and Leonard Cohen as good as they are if not better, and those are hard songs to sing , singing for you is like breathing with that voice it is recognizable, so now your next steps is found out what genre you like to be in I think try little bit of all the genre,and work with some great song writer’s or do some writing yourself, and please don’t let this kind of competition discouraged you, it just a stepping stone, keep looking forward, but you do have to figure out what kind of songs you want to sing, don’t rush get a good management or record deal the good one, you got this😎😎😎😎😎🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 just have fun in the main time, I think you could come up with a song that shows off your multilingual and multi genre in it would be cool. Irts not autotune though. Thats used to correct pitch., Its a robotic effect (vocoder). It was a mistake to use it, cause she didnt go through, so people obviously disnt like it ( she was among the favoriites).

She did the same with her Celine Dion cover. She sang it exactly like Celine, and I think that was her problem ...she didnt show her own personality in her voice like the other contestants did.

i recognized that she is intimating the voices of all the singers...i mean, she HAS a great voice! but, she tries too hart to be someone else...find your OWN attitute..BE YOU because that would be the reason why you will never be someone who stand out from other singers in this world...
They will say: "she has a voice like cheer (...or anyone else) it gets boring after a while..because there is only one cheer, beyonce, ..... .... ..
