Absolutely fantastic to look back at those times safety standards, while Jackie looks back into the standards (or lack there of) in the 60s.
A legend on the race track and a legend off it as well, every time a driver walks away from an accident nowadays, we have to thank Jackie.
    Thanks for uploading this

and 1986 safety standards look almost as archaic to 2022 as what 1966 standards did in 1986.

I think funnily enough Jackie has said that the safety standards of today almost make drivers seem a little too invincible.
I feel bad for Jackie these days because if he doesn't give a straight endorsement of Lewis Hamilton being the greatest driver of all time, he's denigrated by Hamilton's fans as a senile old fool and I think that's totally disrespectful to Jackie, what he's gone through that you can't give any sort of nuance towards a fairly loaded debate on who should be the greatest driver of all time.
Looking at how he managed both the death of Elio de Angelis and his incident at Spa meant he was a natural for TV - certainly for an American audience.

Ahh the wit and wisdom of Sir Jacky Stewart !!! I recall Sir J saying that Hamilton was making a big mistake leaving McLaren to go to Mercedes.....

@@buckfaststradler4629 Everyone makes a mistake or two now and then - there were a lot of people who shared that view at the time so it's not like he was the only one. We're looking at that statement with the benefit of hindsight.

@@buckfaststradler4629You'd be hard pressed to find anyone predicting that to be a good move at the time.
