This answers my occasional problem of chasing thread tension. It never made sense that I needed more top tension when sewing thicker seams. Now I realize one side of the foot may have been in the "valley". Thank you! I may never have figured this out without your epiphany.
YES! This video fixed my issue that I was chasing for a long time. I’ve played with tension, replaced parts, called for help, etc. I pretty much gave up and almost sent my machine back for service. After watching this, I noticed that my presser foot was just barely kissing the bottom teeth. The middle part of the foot was not “popping” at all. I’m still not sure how to adjust this.. but what I did was to move the presser foot down slightly so that it contacts the bottom more.
Sailrite does have a special unlisted video for adjusting the presser feet. Feel free to contact us for help on that topic. If you own our machine we will send a link to the video showing how it is done. email info@sailrite.com
That works for sewing along a seam. What about when you sew over a seam, and on every seam, you get loose stitching under the seam? For instance sewing the hem of a flag. I’m sewing the end of the flag, but whenever I sew over the color change between white and red, there is a seam. On every seem, I have loose thread under the seam. Once I’m over it, the thread is nice and tight.
Hi, I’m getting that on my Leather project, but the left zipper foot I’m using is at the same level as the inner foot. So, why am I getting ever larger and larger loops?
Thank you for using a macro lens!!! Makes sewing so much easier to learn

Eureka! Thanks for sharing this. I was going crazy trying to figure out why that was happening. 😊
Oh lovely, thank you. I kept increasing tension to max but still loose stitches. I just needed to increase pressure of foot a tad.
I'm glad you found the solution! Happy sewing!
Insightful. Though it hasn’t happened to me, nice to have these troubleshooting tips
Now I understand why on my bimini repair although my test tension was right I encountered these, simple if you understand the issue, thanks
Glad to help.
Nice tip! thanks!
Another pro tip from a great pro! Thank you.
Your welcome!
Thank you so much 👍👍

Thanks Eric, that's good to know!
Gosh, you inspire me. 🙏
Great info. Thanks
Brilliant. Thank you!
Good day will that foot work on my Sailrite Ultrafeed Model no. LSZ-1 Thanks for your help.
The LS feet will not work on the LSZ, sorry.
Interesting! I'm using a regular foot with Juki 300 and now I am seeing these issues, cant figure out what possibly can cause it...
If it is not a walking foot machine then you probably have too little upper tension.

But this is not the situation for a different machine
Thank-you 🙏🙏🙏
You're very welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
My bottom thread is losen 😢what to do
Many thanks ❤
Thank you so much for your kind words! I really appreciate your support.
I don’t have a foot like this one. It was interesting.
What if you're not using a foot like that?
Well then it's not the same problem, and is likely just caused by tension in need of being adjusted.
Muy buen aporte!!
It really works
I'm glad to hear it worked for you!
Mine is not walking foot
Lol! You just need to hold the thread end tight when you start stitching.
Piping machine
What's 'baak'/'bauk'?
I think he said "bulk", as in several thicknesses. At least that's how I understand it.
