    Little tip:
    1) Infections Oil + concentrate for barrage. Enemies get hit by the overwatch in their turn and popp the damage instantly. This Infectious damage can multiscale with brutality, galvanize etc so it's way more than half the initial damage. This way you can relyably "oneshot" targets without praying for crits.
    2) Park a spear with contact brutality next to your archer. If you use spearwall or not, +30% for your 4 barrage hits is more value from the spar than trying to do fancy attacks with him. (A herald giving fury, using attacks with slows and then end where your barrage will be can take care of a small group by itself. Just the free fury+riposte standing infront of the archer is fine.
    3) The Arthes piercing bow is the best barrage bow without competition. The pierce gets affected by aim(double range) again which lets you farm 2-8 rage stacks before setting barrage up. It's so effective, you best use the piercing shot on different targets than those expected to get hit by barrage. Ranger must jump a lot of hoops and valor to get oneshots back to back like this. A proper barrage will end up farming more valor than it cost.
    4) Either an afk bear to soak hits or a boring merc like Wrongdoer can stand in the barrage as bait. But ideally you set up barrage ontop of at least 3 enemies. Any allied push mechanic not triggers one barrage. If there is a beefy enemy, push him once, stack infectious and then let him move, stack another and explode without even breaking armor.
    Piercing shot+ 4x barrage can easily x5 the effective damage done of most damage characters while only costing 2(+1) valor and getting one (2) back per kill.
    Another tip: The recoil shot archer with 20+ movement and double knockback belt can play billard to crowd enemies up and get extra juicy warrior whirlwinds.

      All good tips for new players! This video series was mostly created to show new players basic specialization synergies. The fun weapon and oil combos won’t come until I finish my advanced build videos.

    Thanks for the video. Ive just started playing the game. I have 2 archers. I'm aiming to give them:
    Valorous Support (they move around together, +1 Valor point every turn)
    Recoil Shot (this and the default shot, means two shots every turn, with the Raider Bow...)
    Precision (with 2 shots, should proc every turn)
    Thrill of the Hunt

      Sounds like a fun time! If you’re planning on using a lot of knockback there’s an item that increases knockback distance by double. Maybe something you’re interested in ;)

    Informative, im actually looking for more guidance towards bravery skills vs extra ability.. but J2S: Wouldnt valorous support and lone wolf negate eachother? Lest its for situational versitality.. Also, I Personally find secondary weapon useful.. that way my archer can have a straight shot weapon, as well as an aoe attack, if either would be more effective regarding circumstances and/or placement. That said, thank you for the advice. 💯

    • @clydian
      @clydian  3 месяца назад

      @@derrickkirkman595 ultimately they don’t synergize the best, but depending on how you play you can make use of both of these perks during a turn.
      As for bravery vs extra passive it really depends on how many units you’re using for your team. You really should only have as many bravery skills as you’d use in a battle. Most battles in Wartales only last 2-3 rounds. If you find that your team doesn’t have enough bravery skills to use one a round, then maybe add more. Otherwise maybe you have too many bravery units for the battle.

    Even having just 1 bear and 1 war pony, a beastmaster does amazing in my eyes... A bear tank does insane damage and tanks very well, while you have to repair nothing...
    And there is an item to give 1 valor point for every enemy the bear kills and Iam using a bow, that makes the bear attack again.
    So my bear can attack 4 times a round and he hits really hard...

      Beast master has its niche usages, but overall I’m not a fan of using animals.

  • @ryanbrown5612
    @ryanbrown5612 Год назад +2

    I know you said you don't like to run animals, and for archers especially I'm curious why? One build I like is if you get 3 wolfs (Alphas), they get that Wolf Pack ability giving them 50% chance to crit. And then take animal affinity on your archers for a nice crit bonus.
    Is it more because of the additional food, or party size?

    • @clydian
      @clydian  Год назад +1

      It requires more set up to get to that point, because trying to run animals in early game will not end well due to you not being able to control them without a collar or the level 5 perk. You’ll just have wolves or whatever running into their deaths a lot and you’ll spend more time babysitting than actually fighting.
      Not to mention the party size scales due to animals, and if you have a bunch of weak animal units that can’t compare to regular troops, why bother?
      If one regular human mercenary has the same potential as 2-3 wolves I’d pick the one mercenary to speed up combat as well as reduce enemy troop sizes.

      @@clydian what about bears i feels bears are really op in my team, only downside its high blood/poison damage, but the bears finished in my run all bosses i meet and they never was near die :D will the size really increase the enemys also in region locked mode? i mean in Ludern Region i get maybe 18 enemys and have 22 in, i never played the game before so i dont know, but i like to know , so animals and horse are bad to use? i have that problem that i like everything and want use all, so the size went bigger and bigger xD

    • @clydian
      @clydian  Год назад +1

      @@agentxtopsecret there’s a lot to unpack here.
      1. Region-Locked mode does not scale according to player party size. Free Scaling WILL. So it’s possible to just continuously add units in region locked until you outnumber enemies and win that way.
      2. Bears are very tanky and pretty strong. I know a lot of people enjoy using them. I personally just don’t enjoy using animals that much in standard runs (I’ll end up doing some thematic play throughs eventually)

    Hey you got a guide on trading outposts or travel outposts or whatever they are called? How do I make them? Etc.

    • @clydian
      @clydian  Год назад

      Check out the community update video I have made! I go over the basics of it there.
      You need level 4 in the trade path to unlock the ability to build them, and they are only buildable in major towns. I’ve seen them range in price from 500-1000 krowns so far as well. Once you buy a location it is added to a fast travel network and you have unlimited storage there as well as a place to ‘deposit’ 3 of your units. While your units are there you don’t need to pay them or feed them.
      In order to make use of the fast travel feature you’ll need at least two trading posts

      You aren’t wrong! But one thing you can do is move the unit next to the archer after the archer sets up barrage to trigger it. It’s not perfect, but it’s doable. That being said this video is a bit dated and I need to make an updated guide for archers.
