    I really love the selfie camera, it gives a really personal feel to this video and you don't overuse it. Great video!

      Hi +NauticalNiblett
      Thank you, it is the Panasonic HC-WX970 it has this feature twin cam. I am trying to use it a little bit, it is a bit harder to work with. because i then have to keep my self in frame while filming and talking about something in front of the camera. There is one shot in this video where i just forgot to turn it off,, nothing going on behind the cam :-) ohh well.
      I am glad you like it ,, and tell med :-)
      Merry Christmas to you and yours :-)
      Thank you for watching! :-)

    2TB of RAM in a server sounds and looks impressive! I am almost at a loss for words to think of what sort of loads you could run on a server that would make it almost run out of memory on 1TB. Thank you for sharing this adventure with us, Morten!

    "Sometimes you just find out that 1TB of RAM is not enough", haha, I know that feeling. It is crazy how much you become accustomed to this stuff and how well it is all thought-trough and engineered that you sometimes literally start to cry if you have to use any "standard" enterprise gear again :D

  • @guillermo.gonzalez
    @guillermo.gonzalez 8 лет назад +1

    Wow! I'm surprised your company lets you film inside. Nice video, it's actually nice to see all this stuff that it is difficult unless you work with it. Thanks!

    Very, Very cool! :)
    I'm a network technician an like to do networking and virtualization stuff at home. Here i was thinking the 64 GB of memory in my system is a lot :P
    Of course there is a big difference between home (hobby) use and production ;)
    Keep it up!

    • @MyPlayHouse
      @MyPlayHouse  8 лет назад +2

      Hi +Rik van der Mark
      You can do a lot on 64Gb at home,, my biggest server is like 128GB,, nowhere near 2TB of RAM :-/
      Thank you for watching! :-)

    • @rikvdmark
      @rikvdmark 8 лет назад +1

      That is true. I had 32 before but found it to be a bottleneck at times so when i got a new system I also got more memory for future growth

  • @RinoaL

      Hi +Rinoa Super-Genius
      No we buy disk space in racks,, and petabyte :-) So you did not see the pic on my Google+ of 10TB of ram in the back of my car,,, a really fast way to increase car value by 25 times.
      Funny,, I was watching your videos, while you watch mine :-)

    Good to see you're on a decently recent build of ESXi 5.5 - they sorted the CBT issues out with 5.5 Update 3b so maybe you'll consider upgrading now that you have enough ram in the hosts to pull one down.

    • @MyPlayHouse
      @MyPlayHouse  8 лет назад +1

      Hi +Jon Kensy
      We are going to be upgrading to ESXi 6 soon next year,, but there is many things to take into consideration. and memory, was not one of them.
      Thank you for watching! :-)

    • @JKGarageBMW

      Yeah we still run 5.5 on many clusters we'll be going to 6 next year as well.

      HI +TechHole Productions
      If you have to live with your server,,that is the way to go! and you can still do a lot under 100Watt,, actually i fund that we had some Lenovo x3650 M4,, that only used 95watt,,, quiet,,not so much :-)

    Hi, great video. Reminds me when I was in charge of the servers at work, we had 3 Dell servers but nowhere as much equipment as you. I won't ask where you work and I know you wouldn't tell me but it looks similar to those used in Local County Council's department.
    Great, thanks for the videos and Best Regards For the coming festive season.

      @MyPlayHouse  8 лет назад +1

      HI +John M
      3 Dell servers,, well back in the days where you just put all the systems on just a few servers,, you did not need many,,, but boy when they crashed,,, not good.
      Thank you for watching! :-)

    • @johnm8016
      @johnm8016 8 лет назад +1

      +My PlayHouse (Morten Hjorth) Didn't have a major crash in 16 years but always kept good backups and raided drives just in case, lots of minor problems over the period but thankfully nothing major.
      Done all maintenance during out of work time and holiday periods. Renewed servers and P.C.'s every 4 years on a rolling 4 year plan and it worked well. Been retired over 4 years but can still remember enjoyable times.

      Aero Snake I do not know how the G580 G8 is, but I can say you that you more or less easely can put ah HD6970 into an DL585 G7, but it wouldn't support CFX.
