@@TheHoveHeretic because we have enough locomotives in BR colours. around 90% of preserved steam engines that worked under BR is currently wearing a BR livery. It's boring.
@james426able1 The original Grange series from 1936 was based on a rebuild of earlier Churchward 2-6-0 units. Likewise, Betton Grange is a combination of pre-existing and new components - the Standard No.1 boiler from 7927 may even have been fitted to a Grange at some point as they were swapped out during heavy overhauls.
I also remember her at Llangollen in parts, Mr Churchward is probably looking down with a smile, well done to the crew that brought her back to life.
I remember seeing parts of this loco at llangollen mpd some years ago, great work to who ever was involed would nice to see her back in wales
Yes it would be good to see her back at Llangollen. I'm sure she could eat up that incline up to Berwyn Tunnel.
I use to work at the carriage sidings and factory as a shunter many years ago. I'd have loved to have been there to see that. FANTASTIC. 👍👍👍👍👍
Did you work allangollen rlwy

Truly splendid ! Can’t wait to see this loco in action on some preserved lines.
She's gorgeous!!!!
Excelleny video she's well worth the wait and looks stunning in late BR livery
A magnificent sight. 😊
I'm really look forward to seeing Betton Grange at the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Railway next month. 😁
How absolutely wonderful . I thought I spotted my last grange in 1961.
Brilliant. Looking forward to seeing this engine.
What a beautiful finish on this loco.
I enjoyed it yesterday, especially getting a cab ride and a drive of her. Did a bit of two tone action on the whistles
Gotta say The GWR did have stunning engines😮 now the grange is in service I guess the next new build to come is beachy head
Absolutely splendid :).
Brilliant video! Lucky you got to see it before everyone else lol. Hopefully I'll e around when it goes to the SVR. Regards, Dan
thankyou it was fun going to see it
I think we'll be going as well when it goes to the valley
Betton Grange been built 1998 newly fresh painted
Some folk say British engineering skills have all but vanished …obviously not in the tysley area 😊😊😊
And Darlington since of the P2
G. J. Churchward would be pleased. Of course he never saw his original proposal built.
Rotten weather, depressing news, but...we've got this !! ❤❤❤❤❤ it.
Any weather is good weather, so long as you're alive! 🙂
What Small Prairie is behind Kinlet Hall at 0:37 please? I'm really struggling to identify it
4588 I think
@@heritageinthe21stcentuary13 Thanks, I had no idea her overhaul had started
Nice video! Particularly liked the final shot, really up-close! Shame they didn't use the First class Mk1 in the sidings for the guests!
Great to see another class resurrected. Shame she’s in BR livery
Why? MkIIs would look even more incongruous behind a GW liveried loco!
@@TheHoveHeretic No more ridiculous than behind a BR liveried steam engine!

I agree, this could be misleading for casual observers who may remain ignorant of this loco's history. Still wonderful to see though!
BR livery is what most of us remember them in.
Is she just going to be used on heritage lines ?
that is as far as Im aware the plan since she doesnt have TPWS or OTMR
Another replica steam locomotive in action

They all are. The same as most things, very few one offs.
