i cant thank you enough. i think this might be one of the first videos on that matter i have watched that kind of resonates with me. most videos on this all go in with learning premier or others and doing alot of external work on your pc and the getting it over to your phone and... it takes so much time. listen... i dont like reels, i dont like vertical content, i just want to show my pictues. BUT i am open to adapt a bit if i have to. but it needs to be as simple and easy and time efficient as possible to be bearable. this is as close as it gets so far
It's now 6 months later and I notice this video getting some views. The strategy has been evolving over time, expect an update soon. I'm not approaching half a million followers on instagram, and I made a whole course about reels. You can check it out at www.nightshotacademy.com/cinematic-reel-course
Gave your method a shot and holy crap does it work. Did one with my photos from Watkins Glen State Park and it quickly became one of my most watched and engaged reels and it's doing fairly well on RUclips Shorts. Thanks for the kickass advice!
Thanks for sharing this! It saved us all a lot of potential headaches! So when are you going to start posting these reels on TikTok? 😁 You'll probably hit 100k followers within a month!
Thank you. Tbh I don't understand tiktok. I only use it for posting test reels, like different versions sometimes but I have no idea how to get followers there and to be honest it's my least favorite platform.
Teemu in Greece we still have no reels🙂🙂🙂 It's good to abuse it for a bit and get what you deserve. You have a pretty unique style but the thing is it's not viral (you don't do trends). In my opinion reels can have a different use for photographers like showing some gear, or b rolls of some clicks etc. Showing shots with music is kinda more fun than scrolling but i still don't like it that way
That suck you dont have it yet. Or maybe it's a blessing. Yes but like I said in the very end of the video, if you divert reels to a totally different type of content (like just showing cameras), and then get an influx of followers from that (because reels just go viral too easily), then your engagement on your regular posts is likely going to suffer, which can then kill your whole account. So it has to be related to your main content, as closely as possible, to be worth doing.
Since i started Instagram in 2016, I do street vs landscape and also portraits photos ( now reels too) do you think these are very different from each other ?
Tried my first reel today using your video. Its dog shit haha hopefully I get better at it. I wonder how often I should do one of these without spamming people. Great video & guide man. Keep killing it. :)
Earned a like and a new subscriber. I'd have given you a monetary "Thanks" if you had that set up on your account. After combing through a number of google/RUclips searches, you were the first (and only) one to go straight to the app that does exactly what we need. Simple and informative. Thank you!
Thank you for this. You need to try out Vero, the algorithm there let's many people see your photos. Only downside at the moment is the audience are mainly other photographers. I'm sure within the next year the app will develop and improve.
I've actually been on vero since the start. It's fine but the audience there is just too small for it to be a serious competitor. If that changes it'd be awesome.
I have followed the steps using the Cap Cut app, and I already have the reel ready with the music. But when posting the reel on IG, as I have put the music with Cap Cut, it doesn't detect what song it is, and I have to put it as "own original sound". If you put the music in Cap Cut using the method you explain, how do you get IG to detect your sound? (Hope my question make sense)
@@teemu.mp4 But if I make the reel with CapCut app (even without sound), I can't add the music in IG later. I get a message saying that I can't add sound to that reel. Doesn't that happen to you? Maybe is just my phone... And another question. If you have to add the music from the IG library in order to detect it, then why the step of download the audio from a reel and extract it and putting it into CapCut and match the beat and export the reel with the music? (That's what I think you do in the tutorial, isn´t it) (Sorry for so many questions, I don't want to annoying you.)
@@Zicrom I think maybe it's related to your location. Can you add music to any reels? its not a problem for me. The reason I add the music in the editing phase is to ensure the cuts are timed correctly. Music detection is not a thing on ig.
@@teemu.mp4 yes, I can add music to any reel, both in Capcut and on IG. BUT, if I create the reel in Capcut, I can't add the music to it on IG, that's my problem. If I create the reel directly in IG, then yes, I can add the music from the sound library, but if I try to add the music to a reel created in Capcut, that's where I have the problem and I can't do it. And in your tutorial, I see that you export the reel from Capcut directly with the sound on it. Well, I think I'll post the reel imported from Capcut (with the music already included from Capcut), although that doesn't help the IG algorithm.
I can't remember fully as I haven't just got a long time, but there is an option au the end you can untick, or delete the clip at the end where they add automatically.

Awesome advices for many aspiring creators! Thanks Teemus!
Dude I went to check out your instagram now, you DID blow up like crazy. It's october and you have almost 400k 😅 amazing
Haha yep reels work
The amount of times the InstaUI has destroyed my posts 😂
I love this video. Stayed on the topic with additional details
Nice reviews abt the capcut, totally agreed, can we also post those still photography reels as the RUclips shorts?
Great tips!!
Also a very non-related question haha, where you got that jacket, what brand is it? 👌
100% going to give this a shot. Solid Vid
So much great info here! Thanks! 👏🏽🔥💯
Helpful, thank you. And your photography is superb.

What size do you export the pictures in before adding them to the video?

Ok i figured it out, 100k took 3 months 😂😂
How do you make money on Instagram if gain lot of followers?
Hi do you know any apps for photographer to work
No more match cut in cap cut. Is there another option?
Love this video thank you!!! Would love you update on this ❤️ since it’s a year later ❤❤ ;)
There's a few newer videos on reels on the channel
Loved your video !! Can you share how you color grade for your videos?
I think I'll make a video about it at some point

Depends if there's an underlying theme or the way you edit, I also do all of those but they are tied together by the same mood

Saw it. Looks good to me! I've been posting everyday and haven't noticed any increase in unfollows compared to normal.
@@teemu.mp4 Cool cool, thats great to know. I'll give the daily reels a go too then! See how it goes. :)
Hey how do you get your photos to fill the whole screen
It was some beta ig they ultimately didn't go with (yet)

I've got the Fillmora app, which weirdly looks way too similar with capcut now that I see 😂

Ig doesn't detect it, you have to put it through the music library manually. Annoying but worth it for the algorithm.

This man loves eating cake 🍰
Im having an issue where my reels stay at 0 views and never go above
there's a box that you don't wanna unclick that says something like "also share to explore". That or maybe a shadowban?
@@teemu.mp4 I will take a look and see and sounds like it but its been happening for about a month now and I don't post that often
Funny thing is Capcut belongs to the same company as TikTok i believe
