Thank you for making this... I’m an American with Jamaican parents I used to eat this as a kid and forgot about it. I will make some this weekend I enjoyed watching this. So many memories
I have not seen it done this way before. What I have always seen is boiling the water then adding the cornmeal as you stir. I hated doing it like that. Just this evening I thought of doing some and the thought of all that turning was a big turn off. Then this video pooped up. I wasn't even looking for the recipe. Thanks a lot. This way seems so much easier.
Chef, I enjoy your turn cornmeal video, I remember eating it as a little girl back in Jamaica. I have not cook any for my family here. I Plan to cook some this weekend. Thanks for sharing your culinary art.yum!yum!. ❤️
I've finally made the perfect tun cornmeal and I just wanna thank you lol cause mi love eat tun cornmeal and mommy in Jamaica so she can't make it for me cause I'm overseas
So looking to give this a try. It brings back memories of back home. Thanks. Listen, when we wid each other we "chat", but know how to "speak" when in professional company. I love it, it's natural. 👊👏

I love the hand movements with the video!! I use my hands a lot while I speak too,I'm from Trinidad and my hubby is Jamaican!! But most of all I am loving the recipes! Thank you!
I am glad to see this recipe ,for years I want to make turn cornmeal but did not know how when my Mummy was alive and I visited her that what she would cook for me. Thanks.
If you're speaking patois speak patois dont apologize for it. Patois is patois and English is English. If you want to say Tun-cornmeal say it that's the name of the meal and if anyone else wants to say turn-cornmeal it's up to them but don't apologize for saying it.
That looks so GOOD! I like the addition of the veggies! I will have to search your channel for the curried chicken. Hope you have one uploaded. And I agree about the dye in chicken! If there is red runny liquid in the trey - it's wrong! You have such a soothing amazing voice - ya wanna be the commentator on my vids? LOL

Chef, All that you said and did for the Turn Cornmeal was very correct. That's how I make it too. The only thing missing from your recipe that would make it "un-Jamaican" is the absence of the salt fish.
Just finding this channel and most definitely will be trying this recipe. That tun cornmeal look delicious and can just imagine how it taste. Good sah 😊😊
I never had that dish but would love to try it especially the turned cornmeal. Looks so good. I’m surprised it took 45 minutes to cook. I thought fine cornmeal cooked in about 5 minutes.
Have cooked your tun corn, at least 5 times now and think it is wonderful, my father never Cooked this for us well maybe he did but it may have just been plain, anyway, thank you for this, the only thing we found hard to get hold of was the pemento, berries, however, we got them in Holland on a trip and so now in England I have authentic tun cornmeal
I like tun cornmeal with stewed turkey neck & broad or butter beans. The way you do it looks deelish. However, when I prepare my own tun cornmeal it's not highly seasoned and I prefer to use liquid coconut milk. Mine is quite good; I do add about a tsp of Dash powder seasoning and mixed veg is a must. 😘
I'm definitely going to give this is a go. For I remember my mum making this for me as a child. And I loved it so much so thank you for sharing. And talk how yuh want talk mi understand yuh 😉👍🏽
+Shackia web Go to the market once a week, buy fresh vegetables for seasonings, like thyme, onion, etc, buy fresh or dried herbs. At home store them in cool dry place, or in the fridge bottom. Use when you are ready!. If it is winter, fresh onion stay for long, dry the thyme and herbs. You can freeze scallion, even onion, pepper, stuff like that. Nevertheless Supermarket have fresh vegetable all seasons.
