What I love about this song is how the entire meaning is turned on it's head at the end. The whole thing is like "I want to hurt you, here's all the things I'm going to do to you", and then it turns out he's speaking to HIMSELF in the mirror. His body is the Ship, and HE is the Captain....

" I see your face in the mirror" hints that the person he’s singing about is actually himself. Maybe this song isn’t about a sadomasochistic relationship, but is rather about self-harm.
True - they are the best live band ever. Too bad you really dont get to appreciate the enormous sound they have in these videos. Seen them 5 times, last in 2022

I've seen Rammstein 4 times here in the States over the past 20 years and they get better and better every time I see them! Recently seen them at the US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Best Live band EVER!

Rammstein are true living legends...they are more than just another rock band...Till Lindemann isn't just another singer. He is an artist..a poet..a lyrical genius .. Christian "Flake" Lorenz (keyboardist) said.“Till radiates complete authority in my eyes" “When he sings or says something, you realize that he also means it. That makes the whole song a lot more precious. Especially since there are singers who say or sing just about anything because it sounds good. With Till, you know that he means it.”
But he also likes to exaggerate and, which is a pity, there is a lot that is difficult to translate. Ironic and funny sayings. For example,, in - Benzin- he sings, lead-free.

I have seen them 20 days ago here in Italy and I have see the most incredible concert of my entire life! I'm 64 years old and I have seen about 1500 concerts. Rammstein it was the better show,absolutely!
I've seen a ton of bands live, and yes, Rammstein is the most spectacular live experience of them all.
it's even crazier if you see what cabbles they use for sll the effects even more in the stadium tour
like they need backup power suplies for them shows (the bsckup failed in the city over 30km away from my home and they sound just sudenly cut out because they made a power outage XD

Saw them live in the UK, they are seriously epic, especially the fireworks in Du Hast!

i saw them last week again and they still are the best live band ever!!! the show, Till's voice, the athmospere, the vibes the audience,... Gives me goosebumps everytime. You really got to see them!
I've been a fan of them since somewhere in the late 90's but never had the occasion to see them live until 3 August 2022, and that right I my hometown of Oostende, Belgium. And it was B R I L L I A N T ! ! !
What I do notice is that the public is fairly young at this concert you're reviewing.
Because they have been so well known in Belgium since the 90's the majority of the concert I went to were people in their 40-50-60's. There was even a guy holding up a sign with "I'm turning 74 today".
I was in Oostende on the 3rd as well and it was just amazing. Watched the second concert on the 4th on an ALDI parking lot ~1.5km away and it was still amazing
You should react to Buckstabbu next. The performance is insane and I think you’d like how heavy it is.
Its rare that a band sounds BETTER live. I find myself listening to their albums and missing the heavyness their live sets bring. Incredible band 🙌

This is my favorite Rammstein song. the beginning of this song always reminds me of the water temple from the legend of zelda.^^
I saw them live at Big Day Out back in the day. The Madison Square Garden Album is on blu-ray and a great watch. Every song has it's own pyrotechnics and weird machines. You get a real performance from Rammstein in every concert they do. Getting a ticket is the hard part because they usually only do the one night in Australia. I can understand why though, rehearsal must take months.

2011 Big Day Out at Flemington. Bucket-list tick. Wife fell asleep on the lawn while Iggy was playing but that's another story.
That's real fire and front rows get hot. Water was provided.
Rammstein = great music + great theatre. The performance is all.
It was great. Pre-dates LIFAD so we didn't get Ich Tu but we did get an hour of great entertainment. Feuer Frei included.
They sell out every concert within 20mins so if they do come get them as fast as you can

If you want to see them in concert one day I advise you to watch the videos of the 2022 tour they are doing at the moment I was there when he was in Lyon in France it was crazy the more the years passed the more he do crazy things.
