@@CruisingTheLand got it for 3k, strong motor with a rust free frame 230k miles, bbbuuutttt a tree fell on the back. No frame damage all damage is behind the c pillar so I’ll be chopping it and turning it into a flat bed with box. (4 doors are staying) I also have a cut up body with the b pillar back if it came down to do have welded on to replace the damage. Either way I’ll just be raptor lining the truck post cut and have it for hard wheeling and over landing.
Why a V8 conversion in a FZJ80 212hp? If it is a 155hp 1991-1992, I get it. Buy it is pricey. A LS swap can run you 40-65k range. On my IG, I have a reel of my 1995 FZJ80 on 35s Cruising at 80mph beside a FJ62 with a LS swap. Save your money.
@@CruisingTheLand Thanks much for this perspective. 1) I just spent a lot of money having the trans rebuilt, engine overall, suspension lifted, Delta armor all around. When I saw this video I had one of those "I just should have done that for a little more money" But it's significantly more than what I spent (so far) So your response is a huge relief 😅 2) Someday I may want to pull a larger trailer / toy hauler with a bathroom -- over the 5000 tow capacity. But I understand I'll need another vehicle in my fleet to accomplish that 👍🏻
My question is, why not a 2UZ swap? It's in the 100 series i would argue more reliable then an LS . But to each their own. I'm more of a toyota purest. (You know what, I couldn't afford any of those 4x4 any ways.) Side note Cruiser tech looks like a great shop. And thanks for the sharing jamie.
Because it's not user-friendly like the LS3 conversion. That's why you don't see them. And all the potential donor cars are still driving... They make alot of LS3 motors as it goes in many resto mods. And it is a 💯 reliable and powerful engine.
So just did some Google research and okay, 6.2L all aluminum, 6 bolt mains, great aftermarket support, and parts are everywhere. Production started in 05 and you can still buy them new. I understand now.
LS swaps are sweet! People who constantly profess to keep everything stock are the same people who do the rear heater delete, ABS delete, install electric fans for cooling, lift it, etc. 😁. Way too expensive for me and my 300K Collector's Edition is still going strong but would be sweet to have all that power and be just as reliable.
Why would you cringe? The 2F and 3FE aren't in Toyota's top 10.. or 25 engines. The 60 series ultimate upgrade is the LS3. However mine is Diesel, the 12HT, which is awesome, I wouldnt swap that one!
I agree, but in the case of a 60 series, let me run this by you. You have a 1988 with the 3FE, 300k miles..It's overheating constantly, auto trans slow and due for a total overhaul. Once you do that, you get your same 155hp back. OR put a LS3 and better Trans! Labor would be the same but engine would be more..Then you have a ton of horsepower and the ultimate 60. I mean, the 200 series motor would be great in there.. but doesn't fit.
Thanks for sharing Cesar's shop with us--looks phenomenal and has GREAT rigs inside! Please keep posting this content, learning a lot from you!
I'm a purist all the way! Nice cruisers! Thanks for sharing.
A 40 with an LS3 sounds both terrifying and exhilarating!
I’m impressed with the shop
Wow that red fj80 is perfection, I’m currently 3k in with purchasing mine so I got a long way to go 😂
When did you purchase yours? Do you mean 3k in repairs, or you bought your 80 for 3k?

I'm doing a 2UZ from a 100 Series donor in to a 1986 FJ62.

Rather keep a Yota a Yota
I get it though, a lot more horsepower

@@CruisingTheLand happy someone finally recognizes trans especially this month! 🤡😜
@@NigelNaughton YES! This Trans definitely added some balls to the truck.
