Hi, I'm subscribed to Tim but only just seen you have your own channel too. I commented on Tim's video (what I feel is an honest opinion of Butlin's based on my experiences). But here all I can say is whatever you paid to be there was worth every penny. Why? To see your son on those rides on his own...absolutely priceless. He looked so pleased and happy. For you and Tim this visit to Butlin's has given you amazing memories with your child. You have some brilliant footage of him which you can remind him as he grows up. There's the cynical me commenting on Tim's but I'm posting as a Mum here (albeit my son is 44). I have plenty of photographs (those flat papery things we had before video was the standard way if recording events 😉) of my son enjoying Butlin's. Happy Days....and may you and your family have many more. 💖

Thumps looked like he had a great time. Much be lovely to have a family break with all the memories. One of my best childhood holidays was at butlins - Filey. Loved it. Great memories in early 80s.

Hi Gabby great blog I was the stage tech way back in the day when centre stage was called the showboat with live bands and star name cabarets acts that was way back in 1992, 1993 way before skyline and when Rank Leisure owned the Butlins sites .

This place is dire. Exactly Gaby “ it does the job”. I just could not stop in a place like this. They should give you a kettle fit for purpose. Thank you for sharing. 💕
I agree!! I know some of my feedback is petty but whatever grade you pay for it should all be cleaned equally.. kettles are a must as we all know ie coffee fan lol x
my top tip for anyone going to Butlins or similar, take descaler with you. I descaled the kettle in my apartment at xmas and it was like new again lol I hope the people using the room after me appreciated my efforts haha
also the premium plan restaurant in the far right corner at the back, really recommend it. We loved the food there. they do the best chicken nugget/ goujon things I have ever tasted.

@@GabyStarbuckx The Deck I think it was we went to at Skeggy. its a buffet thing so there's something to suit everybody. its where all the stuff behind the lounge bar is its tucked in the corner by the doors. The side where Costa is. They have like a Fresh pasta station, Cook to order burger station etc Salad bar, Desert station.
I heard bad stuff about some of the food but we genuinely enjoyed eating there.
Great stream, Thumps ❤ with that water tap,he was in awe, oh and I am glad to hear, i dont like a drink after food, pre dinner drinks for me too every time🥂 Ty for sharing ❤

Looks so different to when I went as a child haven't been since. Went to pontins bream sands when my daughter was Caspers age but wish I hadn't now. Was disappointed with it. Anyway I wish I went to Butlins instead. Looks like you had a lovely time. You seem to pick the better place's to go for a get away. Gaby you look amazing in the blog and so do Casper and Tim. I definitely need to visit Skegness Butlins now I've seen your blog my kids will love it one is 4 and othere is 7almost 8 after seeing the blog puts Pontins to shame. Butlins is far better.
Yes your children will love it.. when I was a kid like you it was different it was half board so meals were in and were great and all activities were free they even had a cinema but now… it’s just rides pool and team shows etc.. but that’s standard anywhere although other places don’t offer free rides so that a fantastic bonus… plus the pool which we weren’t allowed to film is brilliant.. and the shows are great for kids… your kids will love it xx
I think Tim did a reaction on pontins looks worse than before anyway definitely booking Butlins it really does look loads better. Thanks for your blog. It makes holidays and day trips better knowing what places look like and how great they are from people like you. You and Tim do some amazing blogs and videos keep up the good work

Loved your vlog. Thumps looked so grown up on the rides. I stayed in one of the old style chalets years ago - toilets in a separate block. No good for anyone with a weak bladdet 😒
Haha no exactly I really don’t know how people coped.., although if you go on holiday glamping you still have to go to the toilet outside x

Wow! Great Vlog Gaby, haven't been to Butlins for 11 years and so much has change. I normally went to the Bognor Regis one . Aww bless Thumps, couldn't take his eyes off the magic tap, that banana made me think of a minion. When I always go on a carousel I always think of Mary Poppins, Thumps is like following the leader in the car.

I do feel your tiredness from child awake nights!I remember it well. As you said Casper can sleep in his pram you can’t you have to carry on the day. Then the next nights lack of sleep. You do wonder how you got through those years.
I think the word you were looking for about accommodations was JUST NAF! You know I’d invest in a travel kettle at least you know it’s yours & clean.

Yes I know it’s been really hard this past year.. I never had sleepless nights with holly.. she used to go to bed late and wake up early but slept through.. disturbed sleep is the worst. Yes someone else suggested a Travel kettle too .. to be honest usually premier inns and other hotels are ok and havens kettle was good… but I definitely think it will come in handy. Xx

I love Butlins. So much to do. My kids love it too. We went in Feb half term just before the new rides opened and skypark opened. You're brave letting him on that ride on his own too lol, I wouldn't even let my 2 year old go on it. She is autistic though so flaps a lot as is my 4 year old. My eldest daughter goes on with them, but she'll be too tall next year as she's was 2cm off the max height back in Feb, so next year it'll be down to our son 😂
Also with the key cards, keep them in your phone if you have one of those phone wallets. I'm never without my phone so I know I won't forget it haha xx
Well I was worried at first but the ride operator said they go on at that age and we can stop the ride whenever we wanted so that was reassuring x

Casper was enjoying his break, he enjoyed all the rides too. Mum and Dad weren't too keen on the food and drink on offer though.

Theme park worldwide said the exact same about the chicken restaurant, that it was very mediocre 😕

We love butlins we ade there next week. yes the silver and standard rooms are basic but as long as the toilet and bedsheets are clean we don't care lol. When casper was on those rides I thought you two was gona cry very proud parent moment. 😊

Hi Gabby skegness is a very nice place to stay ,we stayed on the Richmond caravan Park which is about ten to fifteen minutes walk from Tesco the Park is very central to Skegness.

Showed up for an all adult weekend and it ended up being a some kind of a swinger event or weekend. We were not happy with that. Just walking by somebody’s shally was enough as you could imagine. As far as the tea/coffee… I made up some coffee/tea for reception with the derty pot we were given. Poured the hot water out right in front of the people at reception and they wouldn’t take any because THEY thought the pot was derty. Funny init!!! Apart from that we didny mind anything else.

Your accommodation didn’t look like it had been updated since the 1970s,but it’s the memories u made that matter most. It does make me laugh they put everything on a app now, but getting any Wi-Fi is a challenge.
Yeah I know that’s the problem isn’t it… and not everyone wants a phone my mum wouldn’t have a clue what to do let alone my Nan
Haha the kettle comments made me laugh. Skegness is a horrendous hard water area so limescale destroys kettles. I live in north west and don’t ever encounter limescale so it’s bizzare Butlin’s and their kettles!

Yeah it has gone down hill and the apartment’s are grubby… but…. That aside. The rides and entertainment is fab for kids… I’d go back again but I’d be more prepared x

And to add to ur dance floor point i spoke to staff I'm friends with in that butlins last year and was told the dance floor in centre stage isnt used anymore as it wasnt used for its purpose

@@GabyStarbuckx all I was told was "it wasn't getting used properly" but that was 2021 when they opened after lockdown so I would assume people didn't want to use it and they've just left it at that and I don't think they'll ever go back to using it as there's one in reds and skyline

Yeah we probably will.. but it was more the dirty carpet and kettle which was annoying. I understand you get what you pay for I have worked in customer service on holiday parks for years.. I know my stuff.. but the cleanliness should be thorough no matter what grade the room is x
@@GabyStarbuckx I haven't worked in one personally but I feel like going to them since I was a kid I've picked up stuff over the years myself lol and I absolutely agree cleanliness is paramount I mean my family always used to laugh seeing this one cleaner everyway we went with her trolley but I think like a lot of places post virus standards has slipped

You paid for the cheapest most basic rooms so you have got the cheapest most basic room we go every year with our 5 children and always stay in gold apartment never had a dirty run down room. never been anything to complain about. It’s butlins one you get what you pay for and it is what you make it
You are still entitled to a clean room no matter what you pay.
They could still make the basic rooms look better, and every level of accommodation should be clean.
