- I recently attended the LEGO Convention BrickFair Virginia. These events can be great places to find deals and rare LEGO sets for sale. I was able to get a lot of LEGO Star Wars sets, LEGO Star Wars Battle Packs, LEGO polybags, and other miscellaneous LEGO sets & items. My LEGO Hauls are few and far between at this point but I felt this one was worth its own video.

@@justintime241 i just don’t have the Space to also keep the boxes. Just storing the instructions is a hard task already. Space is limited in Europe

11:54 I got this set 3 years ago at christmas. I still have and like it. Scarecrows head glows in the dark ;) Batman is one of my favorite Lego themes.

I had the UCS A-Wing mailed to me, and it was left outside in the rain. The box was completely destroyed, fortunately the instructions and stickers remained dry, but the loss of the box still bothers me.
Man, the fact a LEGO employee knew it was damaged like that and willingly sold it at full price really pisses me off for you. For myself, I chose to go with a damaged bad batch shuttle box rather than a fresh good condition one because i got about 10% off on it. They didn't have the damaged one on the shelf, they just offered it to me when I got to the till for a discount. That's bad practice by that LEGO store to just pretend it wasn't damaged. It may not have even been their fault but they still should have discounted it.
And they never warned me it could be or is damaged.
@@MandRproductions how would they know its damaged, they have probably been doing it all day and didn't realize. I don't really think its even lego's fault maybe the company that ships the boxes to the store and idk if its lego or someone else who does that.
Love to see the Batman stuff, its a shame how poorly DC has been treated by Lego lately
The Boxes in Seattle were screwed up as well. They might replace it but will it still have the printing error? Our store was considerate enough to tell us that half of the boxes were badly damaged and they would give them to us in order of waiting in line. I was luckily 10th in line so I got a pristine box. They made the mistake of having the wrong logo on it. I think this one is going to go up in value like crazy
I care and try to keep my boxes but my parents throw them away, “WhY Do yOu wAnT tO kEeP iT? iT wIlL aTraCT RoAcHeS.” So I have like 30 stuffed under my bed lol.
My parents felt that way for a long time. I had to throw out my most favourite sets box (2011 Millennium Falcon) because “iT tOoK uP tO mUcH sPaCe”
I had all of the lone ranger lego sets and my dad cut out the front and folded them up and that was him being nice all my star wars boxes are now in a land fill somewhere at a point of no return 😐
How does cardboard attract roaches?
I keep my boxes to resell on bricklink to make something back in a few years and my parents are like “oh you need to throw them out they take up to much space” or “oh those won’t sell for anything”. It’s really annoying considering that my boxes only take up about half a closet not even, and they have junk all over the entire house.

Hope they resolve that box issue, I haven’t started collecting Star Wars yet but I collect transformers and I have kept all the boxes so I agree that boxes are too important, the boxes also allow for easy packing if you ever are to move
Please keep us updated about the Gunship box. I’d be curious to know your experience asking for a new one from their customer support.

The only set I got last year was $100 because we were gonna go to Disney, then COVID, and we didn’t until this month so I got the Batman, bat base
The damaged box on a premium collectors item is absolutely infuriating. And the fact that they just hid it in a bag for someone to randomly get instead of setting it aside for someone to actually decide if they want to buy the damaged product is pretty shady. I would demand an exchange. If they send you a box it would probably be with the fixed emblem.

This is probably the one case that I would agree that your right about the box, that store should have been upfront about the condition. Also the fact that the box has a gaping hole in it would be concerning, I mean what could have fallen out and made that build incomplete? Hoe they make it right.

I totally get the box thing! I've been there! The box is a part of the collection, and it should be treated as such. I get really mad whenever I get a brand new set and the box is damaged. Also, DO NO BUY NEW LEGO FROM AMAZON! They have zero clue how to package sets properly. 75% of the time their boxes are destroyed by the time I receive them.
They actually did make a new visual dictionary last year for lego Harry potter
I’m from the Virginia and go to tysons mall to buy lego. When R2D2 came out, I was fifth in line and when I got in the store, the employees where giving all the damaged boxes out first asking if people wanted extra VIP points. I said no and they had to go behind all the busted ones to get me a clean box.

I just store them in the closet as shown. They remain in good enough condition there for me.
Yeah, that’s what I currently do, but unfortunately am eventually going to run into space issues. Was looking at some videos of folks cleanly collapsing and storing them flat that seemed too keep the box art in decent shape.
That store display is fascinating seeing it out in the wild. That was a smart pick up.

I remember building the aqua raider submarine base (biggest set id ever received at the time) and my back was ruined because I was hunched over on the floor for hours haha. Been looking to replace it one day to relive the experience (minus the back pain).
The fact Lego doesn’t give each stores a few extra boxes for each set for this exact scenario is simply just not good enough for how cheap it would actually cost them
Ask MandR: Are you allowed to ask the employees at the LEGO stores if they have any damaged UCS gunship boxes and if they do, would they give it to you at a discount. I kinda want to try this if you think it will work, cuz otherwise , I can’t really afford it.
It's a very massive stretch and very unlikely but "is it allowed?" they can't kick you out or anything but they may give you a funny look - no harm in asking tho

Don't worry Ryan literally every single collector cares about boxes, I would've been upset and pisssed off if I were you. The amount of times I bought things and the boxes were damaged is insane I don't understand how it could be acceptable to do that, that's why I hate buying things online but it's also sometimes the only way to get something which is annoying. Shops also do this purposely because they know that most people just wouldn't try to get a refund or replacement because it takes too much effort. It's literally illegal too.

That happens with every big release day at LEGO stores. Better stores will find the person who just wants the build or use that one for in store display. Seems like that store should have given some warning as I am sure others making purchase see it as "just a box."

I can relate to the box situation, when I bought Diagon Alley box 21 was completely crushed and damaged. I was pretty upset since I spent $400 on this and this had happened to no one else that I had seen who also got the set. I just wish that LEGO could replace those interior boxes.

Our store checks boxes to make sure there is no damage when you buy them and you can ask when you go in what damage box they have. you either get a discount or extra vip.
Loving the haul different sets bought. When it comes to LEGOS and collecting them how do you decide which ones to open and which ones to keep stored?
I don’t really keep my boxes for any reason, just kinda do, even tho they’re not on display. If I got that box I would be extremely angry, I can’t even imagine how mad Ryan is

It’s not even relevant to say the hole ‘doesn’t matter’ the lego store employees obviously gave that out damaged box on a premium ($350) product. It shouldn’t be a issue at all, that LEGO store just got super unlucky that Ryan got that box rather then some other person.

I managed to get all the Aqua Raider sets back in the day. One of the few themes (excluding my children's sets) that I got besides Star Wars.
Sheesh, quite the haul! But I bought that second fighter tank from Micah for $70 lmao. Looking forward to the UCS Obi-Wans starfighter review down the road! I’m jealous of the sandcrawler, even though mine is still sealed😂

I finally bought the guardians ship lego and man I love it. It's such a beautiful model and not much complaints.
After such a big purchase Ryan was faced with the imminent threat of eviction due to paying his mortgage that month on legos instead. Faced with the sudden realization that he would have to sell his legos to stay in his parents house he moved out to start a new life focused on lobbying Joe Biden for a Phase 2 Commander Cody before his term ended.

My UCS gunship box was damaged when I bought it (much more so than MandR’s). The cashier informed me all of the boxes the store received were like that upon my asking. I guess it’s not a regional or one-off thing.
