This red t-shirted guy did say a few correct things, but the moment these guys open their mouths about aazaadi, it all goes haywire. You guys only have your Daddy-E-qaum Jinnah to blame. Initially, the rulers of princely states had the right to remain independent, and Hari Singh held on initially till Oct 1947. Jinnah asked for that to be removed, and the options were limited to joining either India or Pakistan. Jinnah was also the one who insisted that the right to choose was the ruler's, and not the people's. He did this because he had an eye on Bhopal, Hyderabad, Junagadh, etc., which were princely states ruled by Muslim rulers but had a Hindu majority. Kashmir, he thought was a piece of cake and could be taken whenever he so wished. Moreover, he accepted Junagadh's Accession from Mahabat Khan, but when a plebiscite was held, only 91 people voted for Pakistan. Mahabat Khan fled to Karachi with his dogs. So when Hari Singh acceded to India, Pakistan had no leg to stand on except cry Musalmaan Musalmaan. Pakistan has no legal basis in its claim to J&K. Even if they carp on about the UN Resolutions, it is Pakistan which has to first vacate all areas of the erstwhile state. Then India will remove a 'bulk' of it's forces, except a force strong enough to maintain law and order and defend itself. Only then a plebiscite could be held. Majority of Pakistanis have no clue about the UN Resolutions but keep barking about them,little knowing that their own fauj is responsible for the plebiscite not being held. To put the seal on J&K's Accession to India, the Constituent Assembly of J&K ratified the Accession unanimously on 15th Feb 1954.
The power to decide whether to remain independent / chose between India and Pakistan was under the British Parliament's Lapse of Paramountcy Act was given to the Ruler and not to the public. Pakistan should have challenged this Act in the House of Lords - Gilgit , Hunza , Baltistan , Mirpur , Muzzafarabad and also Chitral were parts of erstwhile Riyasat of Jammu and Kashmir which, in 1947 , legally acceded, in its entirety to India. Riyasats like Jammu and Kashmir , Kalat , Bahawalpur , Umerkot etc were covered under the Lapse of Paramountcy Act of British Parliament. We cannot be selective. Pakistan has absolutely no claim ,whether legal or moral , on even an inch sq of territory of the erstwhile Riyasat of Jammu and Kashmir
