SOS stands for "Sound Of Success". It was a Top Ten Hit in 1980 peaking at #3 and Number One on The R & B Chart & Disco Chart (Now known as The Dance Chart). It also went to Number One in another Magazine called Cashbox. It was the Summer Jam of 1980. If you can check them out on Soul Train. They bought the house down.

Yes Empress, that was a song from the second half of the disco era. What were the themes of disco music? Relationships, romance, love. Having fun with your friends and going out dancing. Happiness. Getting on the disco floor and just letting go and letting the lights and the sounds and the songs and the drinks and your friends and the confetti and the dancing make you move your body and enrich your life. Peace, happiness, love and dancing.

lol....I used to get home from school as a kid and the only thing to watch on TV was Soul Train... Thta's where i first was introduced to this band....good stuff.... (well, unless the Chicago Cubs baseball team was playing...lol)

This is a lovely song. It has such an enjoyable feel to it. It even got you dancing. There are some modern artists bringing this sound back. If you have a chance to listen to MGMT, Tame Impala and Passion Pit, they all have this funk/r&b influence to their sound. As always I just love to watch you react. What happens when you take a Motown song and make a disco version of it? Sometimes something amazing happens. This is a high energy "relationships" song, you will not be able to not move: Heaven Must Have Sent You by Bonnie Pointer.
Note the best versions of disco songs are always the original 12" extended versions. They are usually six to eight minutes. The intro takes about a minute and that's to allow the DJs to sync up the beats. Likewise the outro is about two or three minutes and in a sense not really part of the song. Again, it's to allow the DJs to sync up the beats for the next mix. So don't be shy if you want to chop off the last two minutes of a song.
