Thanks. I camped North of 109 Saturday. When I got back to the car Sunday morning, I switched to a daypack and hiked just to find this shelter. When I first heard about it, people were acting like they were trying to keep it's location secret, so I thought I would make a funny video.

@@12STONESADVENTURES I thought I was going to have to search the woods all around the Watery Branch area. I thought the "Trail Shelter" sign was a joke at first. It is in a cool spot though.

I have plans to come soon to NC to hike in Uwharrie National Forest. Why would anyone want to keep Crystal’s Place a secret? I’m assuming that it was built for the enjoyment of hikers, not to be kept a secret.

I am not sure. I think they were waiting for an opening ceremony. I think it was built on land that had not yet been transferred to the national forest. Have fun hiking.

Thanks @CHARLESCRANFORD for your video. I came from Indiana and was able to hike there Friday 2/2/24 with my nephew. Beautiful hike, beautiful place!

@@grputtputt I am glad you had a good time in North Carolina. You had some nice weather especially compared to the rain and cold we had earlier.
