Once a New Yorker, always a New Yorker! I'm 71, and I've been away in the Midwest for almost 20 years. I'm starting to get seriously homesick. Even though I was born and raised in the Bronx, I've spent a lot of time with friends in Brooklyn. I'm thinking that if I move back, I might like to settle in Brooklyn. It has always been a dynamic place with interesting people, and lots of artistic activity, which I would love. I don't know if I can afford to move back, but life in Ohio is not all that cheap either. Whether I make it back or not, New York will always be my home. New York strong!

I did my Basic Army training at Fort Gordon in Augusta in the springtime. It would get so hot that they would tell us to unloose our pants cuffs, take salt pills , and sit under a tree! I've been in Columbus, Ohio for almost 20 years, and right now it is 9 degrees outside, with a wind chill of -10! I guess no place is perfect. At least we haven't had any natural disasters since I've been here. I plan to visit N.Y.C. for at least a week this summer to see how I feel about moving back. I'm really missing the energy, and all the places to go and see. I haven't been back since 2007, so it will be like a new city to me. My Grandmother used to say that New York would be a wonderful place if they ever finished it! LOL! The city is alive and it will always renew itself! Be well, my friend and prosper!@@juliorivera870

Born and raised in Brooklyn. Lived over 20 years in Flatbush, as a poor black kid. What was interesting is how so many people learned to live in such a small area. No shade. I hated it but had no choice at the time. I worked hard to improve myself and income level. I moved on to the Manhattan beach area. Then, I moved to New Jersey. Got tired of the cold. Moved out west to Arizona. Then tried Florida. No mountains. I hated it. Now I live in beautiful Southern California. Live at Laguna Beach. Around mountains and beaches. My favorite sights. Great year round weather. Most New Yorkers have no idea how big this world is. Or how much better you can live. If you think living like this is nice. You don't know better. That's just my opinion. Don't think I'm better than no one. It was nice to see the old neighborhood. I hope I didn't offend anyone. Please, open your mind.

Hello Julien and good Evening from Hamburg to New York.
thank you for your new Walk through Brooklyn. Astonishing how many Shops are closed, "Retail for Rent". But I think Brooklyn is a good Place to life. The Rent for 2 Room Flat in Hamburg in a comparable Part of Hamburg is about
    ~ 500 - 550 €/Month. I love your Walks through New York, and
I think you make the "best" Videos from all the others who walk like you. My favourite Part in Manhattan are 6th Avenue and East 42 Street until Times Square. I wish you allways the best for your Future Walks.
