I cannot thank you enough for the videos and the time you take to go through them in great detail. I am also pleasantly surprised by the friendly and grounded Land Rover Community as I just bought my LR4 for purpose of light overlanding. I can tell you the Jeep and Toyota communities are not as humble about their platforms. Happy New Year!

Thanks for the kind comments! I make the videos so that I never have to relearn this stuff - I can simply watch what I did last time. If I can't do it from the video then it's not detailed enough.
Much of the information in my video's from the forums - some serious experts out there! I'm just a hacker...
I agree and also find the Rover Community to be a great place to be. Bravado is for those that know, but won't ever admit, that they don't drive the most capable vehicles out there...
More videos to come; 4 in the planning phases as of today 12/31/22, but all that means is that there is more maintenance to do - not always a fun task....
      Be Safe Out There!
(My wife still gives me a hard time about that one rock -
it didn't look THAT big - really!)

Hello, I have a 2016 LR4. I too had the annoying issue of having to depress the ECO button every time I started the vehicle to turn off ECO mode. However I found that is you keep the ECO button pressed for approximately 5 seconds, while car is running it permanently turns off the start/stop function. The only thing that is the idiot light remains on, but I’ve gotten used to that and just ignore it.

That's the first time I have heard that trick. Thank You for sharing! Now we just need the light to go off!!

Can you turn the light off by pressing the ECO button like previously?

@@txfromwi1947 Unfortunately the light stays on when ECO is off. The only way I can turn ECO light off is by turning on ECO function.

What kind of Tool connector you have to reset the battery?

All the tools are in the video.
It's an IID BT Tool from Gap Diagnostics.

I bought a 2016 LR4 a year ago and the ECO mode has never functioned. I also don't have the ECO Mode Off amber light unless I'm in an off-road mode that would otherwise disable it. Not sure what the previous owner did, or if this is a fluke, but it's great. Although, I do fear that at some point I'll flash an ECU for something and it'll reset itself and I'll be just like everyone else.
If you can think of a way to reverse engineer the solution I'd be happy to help, as long as I don't get stuck with a functioning ECO mode in the end.

That makes you a lucky one! I wish we could collectively figure out how to make this happen for all of us, but at least so far, every case is like yours. ECO off, no idiot light, no known way that it got that way. I have seen discussions that everything re-sets when installing a new main battery - especially if one resets the Battery Monitoring System.

I have a 2016 LR4 I bought 2 years ago and the ECO mode has never worked for me either. I've never had the amber light come on for me.

or you can get the Exide EK151 for about $80 directly from a US supplier

      @txfromwi1947  Год назад

If you have a US vendor please let us all know! That would be great!
But I just did a quick Google and could not locate any Exide EK151 in the US for less than about $250 and that was on EBay. You can get en Exide less expensivly and more reliably using the process in the video.
