Spinning Fast In Space Make You Dizzy? Astronaut Experiment | Video

- Опубликовано: 9 сен 2024
- Upon arrival to the International Space Station, astronauts have experienced dizziness and nausea fro the first 24-48 hours of their stay. This is caused by the human vestibular system adjusting to the new environment. ESA astronaut Tim Peake, who has been on the ISS for months, tests how his body responds to being dizzy, after being rapidly spun. ---

This video shows international cooperation at it's finest, it's a video that shows an American man named Tim spinning a British man called Tim while inside a Japanese laboratory connected to an American node, and both of them were brought into space by a Russian spacecraft launching from Kazhazstan

I kept getting so scared that he would bang his head on something!
Same , i was feeling so anxious during this LOL.
that's the good thing about 0g, your speed and direction stays consistent so if he hits his head it's the guy spinning him's fault lol
same
omg same
my exact thoughts
I was so scared that he would hit something lol
Yeah.....but that wouldn't happen....if you noticed he went off axis for a few seconds but was right back in after that.......that's because he could control the spin
That would not have been a good day on the ISS...
entire station just instantly explodes
2:33 was a close call.
Like the wall of the aeroplane? :D

He was going so fast to haha
What if he hit it on the keyboard, and it said "Now re-positioning, new destination set: Pluto." and they are like "Fuckkkk"

Not enough delta V to escape earth's gravity.
ISS: filled with some of the most advanced technology.
Astronauts: this.
Isn't that basically human nature? I mean, we're the species of cat videos.
Well, they will get bored every now and then and have nothing special to do, so they might as well entertain themselves and fool around for fun for a while then.
@@Peter_1986 how on earth would you be bored of looking at the world from space? I can't wrap my head around it.
Hmm it’s more about doing stuff in their free time and showing us how things work (or don’t work) in space because most of us aren’t going to end up experiencing space for ourselves so we have these videos to show us interesting things that happens in no gravity
I like the way just before he starts spinning. He’s standing up straight. And is just talking to a guy whos on the ceiling. (From our perspective)
olo yeah but in space the guy on the ceiling is laying down and watching a guy floating in mid air (from his prospective)
When there is no gravity, there is no correct orientation except from someone’s perspective based on their current orientation
@@aries2590 there's no up or down west or east in space

+Jellyf0x the trump profile picture made that comment much better.
Actually they would be a great idea! You can still feel the same acceleration when you're on the ride, but the normal side effects like diziness and nausea that you normally feel after a rollercoaster ride would be greatly reduced!
as long as you limit yourself to a maximum of 24 hours, the rides will make you EXTRA sick! :D

Are we going to ignore the fact that they're having a normal conversation while one guy is just standing on the roof 😂
That's the beauty of space. There is no roof, just orientation. Maybe that guy was actually standing "up right" and the camera was upside down? ;)
Nobody's ignoring anything. You're just a dumb baiter fishing for clicks with with your parroted phrase. Also, eff your 10k subs, you worthless, vapid moron.

Michael Donnelly rechni vs hes still in earths gravity. so no he is the record holder

1. the earth, together with all of its countries and peoples.
2. a particular region or group of countries.
Even a 5 year old would know this....

there job is to help understand what our bodies will do in space.
I found it amusing when it cut to the guy just casually floating sideways on the "ceiling" and thought how cool it is that they think nothing of that. like if i walked in to a room and saw my friend standing on the wall i would flip shit but they just walk in and theres some guy sleeping on the ceiling like "shhhh billy is sleeping"

Do flat Earthers just think this is fake?
Mad Mellon they thing that every single thing in existence of humankind that does not agree with their mass psychosis is cgi, fake or made by super evil interdimensional velociraptor bananagods.
There is no reasoning with complete insanity.
If they were launched in space, they would claim their eyes is cgi. Or nasa impöanted screens to their eyes without them knowing. Its like a religion, when you are so deep in the delusion, almost nothing can convince you otherwise, because if you were, your whole life would be a lie and that is too much for many.
They are in essence, denying the reality they live in
Which is, insanity
Yes they do
Mad Mellon no becuase there is space above us....that's what he/she would believe
Mad Mellon, obviously. No sane Person of responsibility would risk a severe headinjury like that on a board of a small can in space without any near hospital.
Tontzamann, sounds like you were talking about globers. Flat earthes had a point in their life when they changed their worldview. Where they saw that they were wrong.

Woohooo Human Gyroscope :D
Thanks Astronaut Tim for that awesome demo! I have to say, this is my personal absolute, favorite, all time Fun-in-Zero-G video from the Space Station. I was blown away by the idea that Tim Peake didn't experience vertigo or vomiting when spun around like that.
It's amazing how an organ not built for coping in a zero gravity environment manages to calculate itself in such a short time and adapt to a foreign surrounding.
Though I suppose after a while of travelling back and forth within the career it probably becomes the norm. Truly fascinating.

how long would you continue to spin if nobody stopped you

yeah i though similar thing.
Not quite forever because the air in the ISS stops you. But it will take extremely long to make you stand still again.
Not in ISS I think, because earth has still gravitional force on object that far away but it is very low.
