MAN...NEW ORDER IS A PART OF MY LIFE...I STARTED TO LISTEN TO THEM ON THE ALBUM LOW LIFE AND NEVER STOPPED...BERNARD IS THE GUY...COOL AT THE LAST BREATH.
The word "underrated" gets thrown around a lot, but this fine track here is an example of a song that does not get the recognition it deserves. I think they should've released this instead of re-releasing World In Motion for the World Cup 2002, this one totally deserved to be an A-side
Absolutely,i've always thought that.Never liked "World In Motion" too much like "True Faith",but this was a step in the right direction, and i honestly forgot about this, until today - one of NOs lost gems
bernard captures the euphoria of football/sport better than anyone ; this is a fabulous song , as timeless as many dozens of examples by new order/ electronic/bad lieutenant .
Haven't gone there yet. Thanks a lot for the reply. I remember the "Touch" tape mags. I listened to 'em. But I can't remember what was on them. I just remember thinking - there's so much more out there than the Top 10 stuff you hear all of the time that someone's decided nearly all radio & TV stations will play.
Yup, I remember it. Good. I think it somehow reminded me of Beloved's "Acid Love" (very early house track for that band who had been indie and went into house). I'm not sure if that's the one. Anyway, I remember it. I remember asking people about "Touch" by New Order, and that it was in an (early) techno style. And nearly no-one had heard of it, but one or two DJs I asked, I think. Tell me if you find it.
Years ago i saw a single by New Order named Touch (is not Touched by the Hands of God), featuring early 80s instrumental track, kinda early Techno, little bit like Blue Monday stile. Wonder where is it...
Wasn't this on the 2002 re-release of World in Motion? I think they rushed WIM out last minute to cash in on the 2002 World Cup. This is a great track though, sounds like it might have been written about the time of Technique?
Even the B-sides by New Order are better than most music today! Amazing band!
Forgot about this song. Amazing.

This song just kicks ass.
Hooky's bass is the best.
This song was used on BBC radio 5 live's coverage of 2002 World Cup, if I remember correctly
Wow! I have this original 12inch released in 1990 but never featured!! (it featured re-edit of WIM named "B-side")

Gotta be honest, did NOT like this song at all when it came out. But has grown on me significantly, love it now. :)

Same thinking
This wasnt on the b-side of the copy I had!
Shame about the quality, distorted to f***!
