This is amazing. Kurt didn’t seem fond of this song, and I guess I can understand why it wasn’t on an album, it doesn’t exactly have a hook-ey chorus, but the composition of this song to me really captures Cobain’s genius. The chord progression is just so creative and doesn’t exactly follow the normal rules of song writing.
I agree. I'm a huge fan of the chord changes in this song, especially going from the verse into the chorus. It shouldn't work, but it does. That's genius.

I love the song, it has a lot of similar interweaving between the vocal melody and the chord progression being rather sophisticated. I think the one thing that would of shot this song through the roof and might of made it make nevermind is if for the last chorus he jumped up an octave and sang it with the same kind of controlled scream that he closes off lounge act’s final chorus with. Man I wish that existed. It would be incredible. I wish he had the idea, but he probably didn’t think of it and focused his attention on the songs that were all confirmed going on the album.

Their official catalogue is small but there's so much more. I actually don't much like this version with the reverb and all and think the "outake" version you can find is the best. Either way, this song gives me the frisson and takes me back to my teenage years in such a visceral way.
