These tracks are absolutely brilliant! They’re so powerful, and bring forth such a whirlwind of emotions! It’s perfect for when the protagonists begin what they feel is their last stand against the forces that seek their destruction. And unknown to them, this is in fact not the end, but the start of something they have waited their entire lives for, a new beginning for their people. Incredible job Chromosomes, JACSIN, Dani, and Anna!

Dammit! I missed this going live😢 [but that’s beside the point]. @EMW and @Chromosomes &JACSIN 🎉 to you. And 🎉❤ to Dani Stacy and Anna Pancaldi as well. 😊
Part 1 The trenches around Yagna's command tent were a mess. She had ordered her command staff to take cover as soon as they had come under attack, but it had helped little. Solid rounds and lasfire were whizzing past and over their heads as her brigade and the unseen enemy exchanged fire. Their only consolation was that the enemy could see just as little as her own men could. "Someone get me eyes on the enemy! And where's that resupply at?!" As Yagna yelled her orders, another shot narrowly missed her, instead burrowing into the man standing behind her. As she turned around to check if he could be saved, she immediately saw it was futile. The solid round had torn into his throat, and by the time it would take a medic to be able to stabilise him, he would already be dead. She'd lost count of how often she had let out a swear or a curse since she had arrived at the Rainfall Bastion, but she added another one to that count. "Captain Orrin, take your platoon and comb through the left flank. Flush the enemy out with smokes and flamers." The captain snapped a salute, turning on his heels. "Yes ma'am." "And anyone got word from the colonel?" One of the members of her command squad replied, still fiddling with the vox to try and get a signal. "Supposedly still with the 3rd brigade, but their last communications were over an hour ago, so-" She was cut off by another shot. A lasbolt was a mean thing, and it scorched the woman's shoulder and arm. Yagna pulled her down immediately and gestured to her medic, who crawled closer. As something in the distance exploded, he started his examination. "I've no means to treat this. Amputate and get her back to the bastion for a replacement." Yagna barely held back another swear. "Amputate here?" "Well that, or risk infection." "Then get it over with." The vox operator had already lost consciousness. The medic produced a bonesaw from his back and started to work, drenching everyone around him in blood from the messy procedure. It wouldn't have been so bad had he been an actually trained medic, but sadly that one had died a few days before. So the kid had been snatched from his training in order to perform battlefield procedures, meaning he had theoretical knowledge, but his practical skills left something to be desired. "God-Emperor's bloody-" Yagna stopped the boy before he could finish his swearing. "No blaspheming in my brigade, got that Mitch?" "Yes, major." She was the last person that should logically reprimand anyone for using the Emperor's name in such a way, but she wanted to at least pretend everything was alright. Give the men a sense of normalcy, and she reasoned that they would believe everything was well in hand, even if that was the biggest lie she had ever had to convince them of. "Why aren't our gun emplacements firing?" "They are either out of ammo, or the gunners are trying to reach them." "Why, in the name of everything that is sacred, were they not at their stations?" "They were searching up and down the trenches, ma'am. For more ammo." "Can anyone provide covering fire for them?" "Not without-" The report was interrupted by the vox springing to life. Yagna had rarely been so happy to hear her superior's voice, given that Marcus had a very grating voice, especially after he had yelled a lot. "Major Abrish, where in the blazes are you?! I ordered you to fall your brigade back!" Yagna picked the vox up. "When was that?" "Thirty minutes ago!" "We've been cut off for a little over an hour now." "I got confirmation and everything." "Not from us you didn't." "So your 1st brigade is still at the old position?" "Yes sir, we're pinned down. Was already wondering where the enemy got the spare forces to assault us like this, but if we're way ahead of everyone else, that makes sense." "Give me a few minutes to arrange something." "We may not have a few minutes. Our gunners aren't firing, and I think the enemy is in at least one of our flanks." "Just sit tight." The vox was cut off after that statement, leaving Yagna somewhat baffled and looking up at her remaining command staff. "'Sit tight' he says... As if we're going anywhere." It took another fifteen minutes for the colonel to contact her again. "Major, you still there?" Yagna had to pull a body off the vox before she could reply. "My command staff is down seven members, and my brigade is taking a beating, but yeah, we're still alive." "The Death Korps 675th was unwilling to go anywhere close to you guys again, but they contacted their 548th, they're sending a mounted assault." "Like... rough riders? In a dense forest?" "I said the same thing, and then the 56th Jade Dragoons volunteered two platoons for a rescue operation. Together with the rest of our own guys, the mounted assault and the Dragoons, we should be able to get you out." "How long?" "ETA is thirty minutes." "We don't have-" She was interrupted by a loud booming sound, almost like the barking of a giant beast. She recognised that sound. She had heard this kind of bolterfire only once before, on Damnatos, when the Astartes had come to their aid. Through the blizzard and the thick layer of snow on the ground, the heavy footfalls of 6th company were easily missed, but when the Astartes entered visual range of Yagna's brigade, it was impossible to miss the giant warriors. The major breathed a sigh of relief as her eyes fell on the silver suits of terminator armour, and she couldn't stop herself from laughing. "Rescind that, the bloody cavalry is here." It was only a single squad of the heavily armoured Astartes, but the heavy plate protected them from anything the enemy could throw at them, given their lack of truly heavy firepower. Yagna had often described the Astartes as the kings of the battlefield after Damnatos, and she was glad to see the ones here also lived up to that title. She heard the vox rattle off some intelligible phrases, before she spoke again. "I'll be moving my men back. See you in a few minutes." Cleanup. He was stuck with cleanup. Sergeant Kaelis was none too happy with that. His company had struck out from the Bastion to win glory, not to save a few dozen lost guardsmen. Still, his Lord-Captain's orders were absolute, and he had ordered that every able sword arm and trigger finger be preserved as long as possible. His stormbolter fired a final few shots, before the forest around them went mostly quiet again. His eyes scanned the trenches, until he spotted a blood soaked officer among the tired soldiers. "Name and rank, guardsmen." "Captain Orrin, Lord. Our commanding officer would be Major Abrish, further back." He'd anticipated Kaelis' question. A fact that pleasantly surprised the Astartes. He nodded at the man and moved on, stopping when he found the supposed major, who was in the process of organizing her brigade's retreat. "Major Abrish, I assume?" "In the flesh, who's aski-" She stopped when she turned around and saw the Astartes towering over her. He had removed his helmet, leading her to believe he had just been another of her soldiers. Once she realised her mistake, the blood left her face, and Kaelis could see the initial signs of panic making its way into her eyes. "Oh... I apologize, Lo-" "No need, just get your soldiers out of here." He'd spoken the words a lot calmer than he felt. Her blunt reaction had insulted him, of course, but his amusement at the little human's immediate panic far outweighed his anger. He had never understood why they reacted like that, but it never failed to entertain him. "Thank you, Lo-" "Sergeant Kaelis, of the Blades of the Last Light's 6th company, at your service." She snapped a salute, reprimanding herself over the blatant breach of protocol her panic had caused. "Major Yagna Abrish, Adraxian 128th, at yours. Again, apologies for not introducing myself sooner." "No need. And you can drop the whole Lord thing. Sergeant will do." "Of course, sergeant." They were interrupted by one of his brothers. "Brother-Sergeant, the enemy is preparing another assault." Kaelis nodded, turning back to the major. "I recommend retreating before they come back, or we'll have to deal with their assault first." "With a squad of Space Marines, what would we have to lose if that is the case?" "Time, major. It would cost time, and we've none to spare."

I like your post - except Christmas is pagan in origin just like other holidays - You are correct, no one knows the day or hour of The Second Coming of The True Messiah Jesus Christ - He is coming soon - Revelation 21😊
Where it all began,
Take me back in time
Transport and transcend me
Into sunlight...
Reverse the clock,
Shatter the clock,
Till its hands are mine,
Till its endless frequency,
Restarts....
Listen to my heart
Open my eyes
I'll become one with might.
The then and the now...
I'm walking into tomorrow
I'm falling into yesterday
You hear the pendulum drop
The bell ring once more
And the ticking stop.
Silence
Where it all began
She reaches a hand out,
for me;
I take it.
