Oh my god. I went to the closing show I was in tears. So sad when it’s closing night, Carlotta was crying and Josh kissed Amy’s hand and Blake’s as well. Meg and Giry spun across the stage to each other and hugged each other. Carlotta bowed and almost fell cause she was crying so much 😢
Now i went to this show in Melbourne 7 times and basically fell in-love with everything, i met josh he was gorgeous and just amazing and incredibly kind. However because i'd been so many times i had the chance to try a-lot of different seating see what was best. Every single time i went there was someone talking behind me, humming and singing, chopping loudly on chips and the amount of children like 5 years and under.... i can't believe the lack of theatre etiquette for others. so yeh the guy singing in music of the night gave me the ick and i feel the pain!!
I went to two shows in New York a few weeks back, and I was astonished by the number of people who erroneously believed we'd all bought expensive tickets for a sing-along experience.

I agree!!!! There's a few changes in the restaged tour that are pretty questionable, but for the most part it's improved a lot since the original us tour! :)
What was the orchestration for this production? Sounds like they actually have some brass players in there which is a refreshing change from all the synth that’s been added to other productions. Im assuming they reduced the size of the string section though because it sounds like they added some synth in areas in some string heavy parts.
In contrast with the UK and US restaged tours using only the 13 piece, this one (Australia) actually uses the full orchestra, with a decent string and brass section (and you can definitely hear the difference when you compare it to the UK tour audios for example.)
Yea there was a man a couple seats away from me humming along 😭😭 he did it for a few songs on the beginning but then someone nudged him and told him to stop haha
@@tomdoyle5489 I would imagine that it's becuase the actors are doing so much running around on stage while they would be otherwise tying to sing. Especially, for example, when they are going down the stairs, running around, and getting in and out of the boat, all while trying to sustain long notes. Having it prerecorded means no error singing wise so they can concentrate on said acting (as well as safety reasons probably) Also all this moving around would probably be picked up by their mics so maybe it's also to reduce that noise. ike when theyre going doing the steps from the platform

I was there as well. It made me emotional. I absolutely adore this cast.
I wish this cast would come to New York as a breath of fresh air from down under. They deserve wider exposure.
they are honestly, some of the best voices i have heard sing these roles.
I love you, even though we won't get a cast album, at least we'll always have this to preserve this legendary rendition!
I'm glad so many people are enjoying the Aus cast!!! :)

I wish I could purchase this officially to support the performers✨
Feel guilty, but appreciate someone took time to upload this for us.
❤Thank you❤

How long was it this on for?
Seemed a bit odd/sus that a tour got the full 27 orchestra but the sit down house production (London) got halved
Carlotta was gorgeous!!
This cast sounds amazing. If only there was a video recording of the whole show. Would you happen to have one?
28:55 title song
sounds great to me

Thank you so much!
At 1:34:00 they seem to have borrowed a bit of Tubular Bells from Mike Oldfield
only got to see Bridget Costello... twice. gorgeous, but will forever be disappointed.

@@passariinos Okay!
Came back an hour ago. Melbourne. In general, I liked it. But there was an impression that they sing to the phonogram (lip sync).
The title song ("the phantom of the opera") is prerecorded, so they would almost definitely lipsync for that song.
@@passariinos Why is that?

That’s why they are well trained professionals and do cardio singing drills most days before curtain it helps them sustain and sing

the two u/s phantoms are pretty good, it'd be great if they got more chances to perform
