Golf is not just a game for these professionals as Spieth smugly suggests.....playing professional golf for a living is their job, and it is HIGHLY stressful, if they do not make cuts then they do not get paychecks from that tournament, sure big names like Spieth and Fowler have great endorsements but many players do not have the BIG lucrative sponsors. Players start missing cuts and playing bad can end up losing their card, it happens all the time, Professional Golf is a brutal business! They come and they go in this sport, and it is understandable why so many took the big paydays and went to LIV, can not blame them for that, PGA has always been greedy when it come to money, they could learn a lot from the LIV Tournament Protocols. TIGER was notorious for taking big appearance fee checks and flying around the world to play in any golf league or tournament outside of PGA schedule, and the highest BIDDER got him on their venue. Was surprised when Tiger was so hypocritically judgemental of the LIV and his fellow tour players who went to LIV. It is about money and it always has been on this TOUR.
Completely disagree, Jordan and Rickie don’t play on the PGA Tour for money. The LIV Tour is about money. Have you watched it? Quite honestly, you have no understanding whatsoever

It's 23 out of the top 24 in the OWGR. It's not an objective ranking of golfers, it's a listing of players who have qualified for OWGR points in order of most to fewest. It's seems pretty obvious to me that if some players choose to not play for OWGR points, their ranking on that list might drop pretty fast.
I'm well aware of how the OWGR works and why the other golfers have dropped down in the rankings. My point is that the pga tour or in this case Colt is trying to sell the audience that the 23 top golfers in the world are playing in the WM and thats not true

I think 3-4 out of the actual Top 20 are guys we’ve never heard of, the next Hideki/Max/Sunjae is playing in Asia right now
