Mom polishes off the rest of the chipmunk, then settles over her shivering babies to warm them up again! She feeds her babies with such care, she should be the emblem of Mother’s Day.
@@NomadStew True, but that applies to adult-sized birds. The size of young nestlings depends on the order in which they hatched; it's too soon to tell which might be male or female.
Thank you Cornell Bird cams! This was amazing to see! So different than eagles. Wonder about each birds' disposition. Are eagles, being that they're aggressive, are they more predatory than say, these hawks. The gentleness of feeding and the interactions between the chicks, it's obvious they're different, wonder what other peculiarities occur between the two of these beautiful raptors. Thank you Cornell 🐣🐣🐣
"Unzip a chipmunk"...lol. RIP Chippy. ;) P.S. What is with that apparently untouched chipmunk to the right of the chicks? Keeping it for a late night snack or...?
does anyone remember the year the starlings nested up in the light box with the hawks? It became 'lunch delivery' and 'how to get lunch' lesson for the hawks... lol
I thought exactly the same thing about feeding time! It is so peaceful when compared to the Eagles. I’ve been watching this nest for a year and a half. I missed the first several weeks of last year’s group, so I’m not sure of the feeding with those three. But this is quite unbelievable, the few bonks were in the first week and then that was it.
@@sallyshipwreck4315 I watched the SWFL Eagles and there were some days I didn’t tune in because it was too much for me. Feedings with Ospreys and Eagles can be difficult. I haven’t witnessed that type of behavior in other birds. The first few weeks aren’t pleasant!
Yes, it’s dominant behavior that many species of animals display. Pecking order is very real in many nests, sometimes can lead to death if there’s not enough to eat, but BR & Arthur do a great job here.

The babies are so cute and adorable!!🪶🪶🥰🥰💕💕❣️❣️🖤🖤🤎🤎💓💓💋💋🧡🧡💛💛🙏🙏😇😇
The little one is too cute! He’s not gonna take any crap from the bigger siblings! LOL!!
The best hatch last!
So incredibly precious
The description is too funny! Unzip a chipmunk?! 😂 So sweet! Little one with the right hook to the newbie!
Thank you for posting this beauty ❤❤❤
Beautiful tail on that adult!
Those are some mighty mouthfuls they manage to swallow at times!
Did you see the video of the baby owl swallowing a whole snake (that fought - and that its siblings wanted a piece of)? It was awesome!
@@strangepattie Would love to see that.

food looks plentiful this year :3
these little fuzzy wuzzy kids give me a giggle!
The little male is too cute! So alert!
How do you already know which ones are M or F?

Good gravy! I'm used to watching eagles. Where's the bonking? These bobbleheads are eating huge pieces of food!

where is daddy? havent seen him

He comes in to drop off food. The mothers watch over the kids and feed them.

Nest has too many carcass. Who does house keeping.
The one in the back doesn't seem to be getting any food.
Looked to me like they all got some decent bites in. And based on that pantry, I don't think anyone on this nest will go hungry anytime soon. :-)
