Thanks for watching! Allays use to sort items at lightning speed, but they got nerfed in the betas so now its once every 3 seconds. Still totally worth it! The best, and only way, to sort most non-stackable items :) Lemme know how you plan to use this build! *Due to a bug, make sure you DO NOT use any nether portals near allay item sorters! All of the allays will teleport to you! If the allays are on a lead (connected a fence) they wont teleport to you* You could try experimenting with faster timings, but more items will get missed. If you have some lag you might need to slow it down. Either way since allays are a mob, they are going to be a bit unreliable.
I'm building the sorter at my raid farm, and at my perimeter mine. In glad you mentioned the thing with nether portals, I was having that issue lol... As always, you know what you're doing!
Hey, is there a bug for Raid farms going on lately? I've been having raid members spawn on leaf blocks, levers, Redstone dust... all things that aren't supposed to be spawnable, and it's been breaking my raid lately. Mainly leaf blocks
I mean, if ya wanna do it ethically just wall off a village, move profession blocks and beds to a central location for an open trading hall and trap some zombies and a witch for curing and hostile mob caps. For the sorter, just rotate the allays working. I AM MINECRAFT OSHA!
I have found that if your breed allays when they are in the hoppers both of them still stay in the hopper, so in theory you could have multiple similar but different items to one chest, or multiple allays picking up items which will increase their pickup rate. and once they are all in their hoppers it is super easy to go along and multiply them.
One suggestion I have for people, rather than coupling this to the overflow of SW’s simple sorting system (the one shown in the video), put the sorting system on the output of this farm instead for better efficiency. The sorting system shown in the video has to slow items down so they don’t clog hoppers, so if you run your items through that system first, it will take a long time for all your non-stackables to flow through that system first.
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!! Probably gonna stay up regrettably late adding this to my raid farm to sort out totems and other items into furnaces etc.... THANK YOU!!
Just an FYI, this concept works on 1.19.4 java. The stairs below the dropper eject the items outside the water stream, so surround it with glass instead and use signs to control water instead of buttons but other then that works as designed.
Be sure to keep 20+ blocks between Allays in the sorter and a Nether Portal. I found out the hard way. If you want a portal anywhere within 20 blocks, the Allays need to be tethered with a Lead.
Man 🥲 i was literally looking for this comment like i had hard time dealing with allys teleporting inside my nether portal after all i gone through to put them in hoppers
I now filter output from my mob farm first to pull out most of the stackable items and then send the rest, one every three seconds, through a line of allays built with your design here, mainly to pass bows and crossbows (if any) to be fuel for the furnaces and gold and iron items to be smelted. It's working great, THANK YOU.
The sorter design itself is impeccable - However, note that allays in general are extremely broken in Bedrock edition (as of 1.19.41). They will teleport to the nether with you despite being physically locked up in any closed area, and have been failing to pick up their designated item more often than not with this exact design. I really hope Mojang addresses the nether issue soon. EDIT: My apologies for missing the pinned comment, the portal issue is known; I now have my nether portal just over 50 blocks away from all my allays (allays in row at Z163, portal at Z112) and they are properly staying in place. As for straight up failing to pick up items, I've narrowed down the cause: it seems that placing blocks right above the allays' top slab restraints will stop them from reacting properly to note blocks, thus preventing the dropping of items without the "owner" nearby and thereby also preventing any other items to be picked up since their pickup slot remains full. I've now left a 1 air gap above the slabs and everything works flawlessly. KEY DETAIL! @silentwisperer might wanna point that out in pinned comment also :)
@@cjmitchell3432 The block above the upper slab placed on top of the hopper to lock in the allay must be air, not any actual block. So, in order from bottom to top, it goes hopper, (allay) top slab, air. Then whatever you want above that one air block.
THANK YOU CrispyMC, your comment about the block above the slab helped me fix my issue. I had put a piston above the slab so that I could open up (various reasons) and after I removed all the pistons, the allay collected AND dropped their items as expected. Again, THANK YOU!
Small question, does this sytem work without you being near it? like are there some standards need to be met for it to work or do the note blocks make them just do the work?
@@senjirotadaske9589it just needs to be within the simulation distance, so that it renders, otherwise the noteblocks (as they are connected by redstone) power on their own
You can get multiple allays per hopper by duplicating one once you have it trapped inside. You then use a lead to drag them away from each other and I have successfully gotten 4 in one hopper name tagged and each holding a different item. This is useful for example in a skeleton farm to send all leather items to the same place.
I found two skeleton spawners next to each other in my survival realm. I'm going to attach a trident killer and this item sorter to it! Thanks for the awesome build tutorial!
Just built this with 21 allay. It's eating silents v7 raid farm. It's so beautiful 😍. Going to expand to a shulker box feeding system with full indicator lanterns, and run the crossbows and some iron into a auto furnace 🎉
Love that u suggest to pair this up with the item sorter because this is exactly what I did but with ur item sorter/silo. May use this for the raid farm.
If you built the farm and it still isn't working, make sure you had mob griefing turned on. I was so confused and then I realized I had mob grieving off.
about the bug, allays sometimes fail to link to the note block, breaking the noteblock should fix the issue and could also be done by moving the noteblock via sticky piston. for a more perma fix, incorporate sticky piston in the build, make it the note block is moved every activation or somthing like that.
I like that you demo it first and explain how it works instead of doing like most RUclipsrs: "Hello today we're going to build an item sorter, here's what you're going to need. First step is blablabla.." then you have to find in the video where the hell is the finished product actually working to see if that's what you want :)
That’s a really great idea. I’m just gonna add a second water stream with another dropper in the front of the allays and I think that should work aswell.
I have my water stream from underneath the stackable raid farm going in one circle around my 3 allays. 1 for books, one for heal potion, one for totems. the items first go in front of the allays then wrap around the back of the allays to give the allays a second chance to grab the items. missed items get burned. BUT! it was working fine, until i took a nether portal and the allays magically escaped the trap and appeared in the nether with me.. they were surrounded and trapped properly.
I made a design inspired by this, BUT Im gonna have it attached to my raid farm and the last 9 chests are gonna be the iron stuff and bows. The crossbows and iron still will drop down to furnaces and will create nuggets by using the bows as fuel.

Hello! I watched this video, and I liked everything, the idea, the work, everything is very cool! but I'm worried about one question, when watching the video, I thought that you would tell about one bug, a bug with the fact that Elley comes after the player when he enters hell
great vid! I plan to use this design in my world. One thing to realize though, I've been told an Allay cannot be made to carry a leash, so there is at least that one stackable item that cannot be sorted by an Allay. And since there can be only one Dragon egg in the game at any time (or am I wrong?) there is that one , too... I can imagine however, if dragon eggs are not stackable, and if those are the only two items that could fail being directly sorted by an Allay sorter of this sort, then one could contrive a device at the end of the line of 400+ Allays in the main sorter that could discriminate between stackable and non-stackable items, of which a leash and a dragon egg would be, respectively, the only items that got past your "comprehensive Allay sorter" and could be assigned each to its own chests/barrels.
Pretty sure I found a new bug while building your drowned farm. At least it’s new to me. When you use a bed (in the overworld) while standing in a nether portal, it will still take you to the nether even if you are mid sleep. However it will not change your coordinates. For example, the bed I slept in was at Y level 207 in the overworld. When it brought me to the nether, I was still at Y=207, so I fell ~80 blocks onto the bedrock roof of the nether. When I hit the bedrock I did not take damage, but I was stuck there with all my loot, so I quit and rejoined the world (Realm). When I loaded in and could see my screen I was at the bottom of what I presume to be a lava lake with 3 hearts and lost all my stuff :/ not 100% sure what happened but figured I should let you know so you can investigate in your own ways and submit the bug to mojang
That's a standard Bedrock bug. If you do *anything* whilst using a Nether portal (eg eating, saving) that could cause a slight delay then it messes up the coordinates. It's a useful tool to travel huge distances but if you're not expecting it then it can really ruin your day.
If you add this to a raid farm in 1.21, you could theoretically sort ominous potions and dispense them to yourself for a working afk raid farm, but I’m not sure exactly how you would be able to make sure you drink the potion and throw the empty bottle away
Thank you Silent, you make the best tutorials for bedrock, also I'm really enjoying the truly hardcore series, can't wait for new episodes, and I'd like to ask if you could tell us about the texture packs you use, for the hoppers with arrows, smaller totems and stuff like that
When the allays Will pick an item, the item directly goes to the hopper, correct me if i’m wrong with This, but if it is right, you don’t need any redstone
Don't waste your time if you have a portal anywhere near by. The Allays just teleport out of the hoppers and appear through the portal every time you use it.
I was waiting for something like this, thank you. But i wonder, is it better now to use allays for stackable items too ? ( if it's our storage system and speed is not as important as i can be for a farm ) or is it too laggy and therefore still better to use old item sorters ?
Just a warning, allays are very laggy and can slow your tps. I tried to make a big item filter for a mob farm and so with a 24 allay filter, water started to move as fast as lava.
i think they need like a 30 block distance between cells, otherwise allays from one cell look at the items from another cell 😅 not sure though, havent had time to test stacking modules
I was wondering if there was a way to filter out only non-stackable items from a water stream and now I have my answer! I will be using this as part of my mega gold farm storage to pull out the gold swords to be smelted in addition to normal item sorters for the nuggets and ingots while letting the rotten flesh just burn at the end of the water stream line. I finally have a reason to use allays.
Seems to work in Minecraft(!) too. Just getting the Allays into the hoppers is more difficult. Destroying the minecart kind pushes the allay away from that block-space so more piston work is necessary and centering it is more difficult too. But no nether portal problem (in Minecraft they need to portal themselves). Any specific reason you placed the hoppers on the same level as the water? I placed them one level lower so the Allays are closer to the water (and thus can reach further in the water flow(?)).
Good video. One question is that sometimes my Allays just straight up don’t pick up any items at all. I put this in my raid farm and for some reason they would just stop working. Do you know why this could be?
you just add this in as an addition to the overflow of a stackable item filter. my raid farm filters drops through a stackable item filter, the overflow drops non stackables into the allay sorter, and i have shulker box loaders beneath the allay sorters, and overflow from the allay sorters can either be dispensed into lava or funneled into a smelting system for iron
This is great! I do have one question… what exactly do you mean by putting this on the output of an additional sorter? I don’t understand how you would filter out the stackable items before hand and have the unstackable items go through the first sorter and then into this sorter? Could you please clarify? Thank you
So if you look up "item sorter," you will get a bunch of results for a big contraption with hoppers. Due to its mechanics, it can only sort stackable items. You can have a water stream going on top of the hoppers, so that all stackable items get sorted. Then, the water stream runs through this allay sorter to pick up the nonstackable items. Allay sorters will work with stackable items, it's just easier to build the hopper contraption.
If you do this to your raid farm just make sure pillagers that may spawn on this aren’t able to walk over to your villagers. I’ve had pillagers spawning inside leaves and breaking out but they weren’t able to get to my villagers so it wasn’t harmful. I ended up double walling leaves around some of the red stone.
Has anything changed recently (I'm using 1.19.51) with regards to the pickup cool down? I was working on a "double Allay" filter concept (one on each side of the water stream) in the hopes that I could get the time delay down to 1.5 seconds (3 / 2) (each Allay would have the same item) but I found I could get a single Allay to pick up all the items (64) with a "normal" dropper clock (1 comparator, 1 repeater set to one 1 tick - is that 2 items a second or just over 2 items a second?!) If this is bug NO ONE report it!! Update - if the items "clump" (as they do between the water streams), the Allay's begin to miss them, with one Allay, it picked up 20 out of 64, two picked up 44 out of 64, so might need to tweak the timings a little ☹ Repeater on 2 ticks, 2 Allay picked up 49 out of 64 items - oddly, 3 ticks was worse - might be to do with the note block timing, maybe have the note blocks on a "faster"/"independent" clock? I setup 4 Allay with the same item (after the first water stream) and they seemed to cope with picking all 64 items 🤨. Now I need an amethyst farm 😭
Yo silent luv ur tutorials, Quick Question tho (ive only been playing since 1.18) is there a reason everybody says to add this at the end of your sorter ? I was thinking i would have a nonstackable filter first .. So my nonstackables wont even have to go through the main system . Am i missing something ?
I did a Stack sorter which separates stackables, Shulkers and non stackables, then the stackables go into my main system which starts with bulk, then 16 stacks, then silents item categorizer, the shulkers from the first bit go through a shulker sorter which does full ones into a barrel for collection, partials into a unloader and empties into a collection, the unloader then feeds back into the first bit to separate stackables from non stackables again, the non stackables go to this allay Sorter which is completely separate from my main system because it's really slow, it's meant for single items so sending a whole stack of items through takes about 3 minutes, the categorizer is slow too so I don't want non stackables going into it so I do the initial split then keep splitting and merging
Question: if I have an item that is enchanted do I require a separate allay for every enchantment, or get sorted by the type of item minus enchantments(ie. Base item)?
Thanks for watching! Allays use to sort items at lightning speed, but they got nerfed in the betas so now its once every 3 seconds. Still totally worth it! The best, and only way, to sort most non-stackable items :) Lemme know how you plan to use this build!

Thank you Silent, you make the best tutorials for bedrock, also I'm really enjoying the truly hardcore series, can't wait for new episodes, and I'd like to ask if you could tell us about the texture packs you use, for the hoppers with arrows, smaller totems and stuff like that
It’s better red stone
But for the totem it’s probably just a smaller off hand and fire texture packs there very common to find
@@Head-Comrade oh thanks a lot man!
@@zawake no prob always here to help
Silent you are a Minecraft Wizard!
When the allays Will pick an item, the item directly goes to the hopper, correct me if i’m wrong with This, but if it is right, you don’t need any redstone
Wow you always post with perfect timing
Happy to help out :D
Yay an allay non stackable item storter!
man imagine we got the glare or something
what a world that'd be
would be worse than the phantom 😂
Excellent! And as always, PieIsTheBest! Thanks Silent!
Don't waste your time if you have a portal anywhere near by. The Allays just teleport out of the hoppers and appear through the portal every time you use it.
dont use portals within 20 blocks of allays.
@@silentwisperer 20 blocks is the cap?
I was waiting for something like this, thank you. But i wonder, is it better now to use allays for stackable items too ? ( if it's our storage system and speed is not as important as i can be for a farm ) or is it too laggy and therefore still better to use old item sorters ?
Old item sorters are more reliable and less laggy.
Yay! A Steve came to save me from those pillagers!!!
5 blocks later...
Just a warning, allays are very laggy and can slow your tps. I tried to make a big item filter for a mob farm and so with a 24 allay filter, water started to move as fast as lava.
This is so much simpler then what I was designing lol
This is awesome! Do you think it could be stacked vertically for more items?
i think they need like a 30 block distance between cells, otherwise allays from one cell look at the items from another cell 😅 not sure though, havent had time to test stacking modules
Ty bro i was having a theory about this but I wasn't able to design it like this ty 🙃
Fastest time watching my favorite bedrock RUclipsr!!
Thanks Silent. This tutorial was awesome and I just built it. It works beautifully!!! 1.20
I placed them one level lower so the Allays are closer to the water (and thus can reach further in the water flow(?)).
amazing highly recommended
Good video. One question is that sometimes my Allays just straight up don’t pick up any items at all. I put this in my raid farm and for some reason they would just stop working. Do you know why this could be?
Same problem
There must be one block of air above the top slabs. (ik im really late, lol)
@@walidbom123 There must be one block of air above the top slabs. (ik im really late, lol)
Can you put multiple allay in each hopper to speed up the rates?
yes
Would love to see a way to use this along with a normal item filter
you just add this in as an addition to the overflow of a stackable item filter. my raid farm filters drops through a stackable item filter, the overflow drops non stackables into the allay sorter, and i have shulker box loaders beneath the allay sorters, and overflow from the allay sorters can either be dispensed into lava or funneled into a smelting system for iron
I had not thought of that, much gratitude for the idea
The Silent are the best listeners ❤️
Is breeding them inside the hopper to double the items taken per hopper a good idea or would it cause some trouble????
I’m using this item sorter for the 24 stack raid farm that silent made a video on
Once more proving the allay as the greatest mob of all time
Just added an absolute wall of chests and hoppers to connect this to my raid farm.
your tutorials are amazing. thank you!
always happy to help:D
Can I put the Allays on both sides?
Nice! What the texture pack? Is world download an option?
It's funny, both of you gave credit to one another. 🤣
Hey silentwisper whats your favorite gunpowder farm for bedrock
I'm gonna guess ghast farm
that's insane for raid farms
Pro tip, use bone block or gold block to nullify most of the note block noise
allay will not connect to noteblock and only drops items when close to me
You’re good at your job dude.. you’ve transformed my knowledge in so many magical minecraft ways. Keep up the good work sir
I suppose I should finish my storage room finally in my LTS world that was waiting for the allay to come for my minion to sort items on bedrock.
Looks good! What texture pack do you use that has straight line redstone?
Bedrock tweaks
Minecraft Slavery: Ah shi- here we go again
perfect for my iron/raid farm. Silent, what do you think of the iron/raid farm idea?
sometimes its worth it, but if something goes wrong you lose a lotta villagers 😅
@@silentwisperer id really to to see that
If you do this to your raid farm just make sure pillagers that may spawn on this aren’t able to walk over to your villagers. I’ve had pillagers spawning inside leaves and breaking out but they weren’t able to get to my villagers so it wasn’t harmful. I ended up double walling leaves around some of the red stone.
Ir's always worth it dude, be better guy
This time I was earlier than u silent. I already implement that in my world
You should do an automatic allay breeder.
can this be made with allays on both sides of the water stream?
Has anything changed recently (I'm using 1.19.51) with regards to the pickup cool down? I was working on a "double Allay" filter concept (one on each side of the water stream) in the hopes that I could get the time delay down to 1.5 seconds (3 / 2) (each Allay would have the same item) but I found I could get a single Allay to pick up all the items (64) with a "normal" dropper clock (1 comparator, 1 repeater set to one 1 tick - is that 2 items a second or just over 2 items a second?!)
If this is bug NO ONE report it!!
Update - if the items "clump" (as they do between the water streams), the Allay's begin to miss them, with one Allay, it picked up 20 out of 64, two picked up 44 out of 64, so might need to tweak the timings a little ☹
Repeater on 2 ticks, 2 Allay picked up 49 out of 64 items - oddly, 3 ticks was worse - might be to do with the note block timing, maybe have the note blocks on a "faster"/"independent" clock?
I setup 4 Allay with the same item (after the first water stream) and they seemed to cope with picking all 64 items 🤨. Now I need an amethyst farm 😭
Well time to tear down my current 1 hour buggy sorter for an easier one
Just realised that I haven't subscribed, did that now.
Mumbo jumbo design but compacted
Question: if I have an item that is enchanted do I require a separate allay for every enchantment, or get sorted by the type of item minus enchantments(ie. Base item)?
they dont sort by enchantment, only item type:)
