The movie has got to be B/W with decent audio. Sometimes the sound is so bad on even redone movies it makes them unwatchable.
Very disappointing when you get all set to watch and a horrible cacophony comes blaring out. Not here though, good pic. Thanks again Busted Fish!

G man Dave Elliott (Donald Cook) goes undercover to get the "Big Guy" in a numbers racket mob. Naturally he finds love along the way in the form of the lovely Evalyn Knapp, who was a leading lady in many "B" movies and serials of the 30s and 40s. Warren Hymer plays Midget a not very bright numbers runner. Hymer was fun to watch in this film and funny too, Hymer had a real life drinking problem and showed up for work drunk at a picture, Columbia chief Harry Cohn had him thrown off the lot. Hymer got his revenge though by urinating on Cohn's desk. Hymer died in 1948 at the age of 42. A great "B" list cast, and some clever dialog make Confidential a must see for fans of this era in film. ★★★

Love Warren Hymer whose specialty was playing the dumb, good natured hood. J. Carroll Naish adds menace.Knapp who the year before this starred in the Perils of Pauline was gorgeous.
@27:06, after the blonde gets her butt accidently hit----He apologizes, and she says "no harm done,just a little paint off the bumper". A classic line if there ever was one.

Excellent movie, J. CARROL NASH won an academy award for his role as the Italian P.O.W. in the 1943 WW2 movie shahara, with humpfry bogart. J.carrol Nash was the guy who killed the ring leaders son! You gotta watch Sahara! The German fighter pilot looked like David Bowie! TIN MACHINE ALBUM! YEHA! YOU CAN LISTEN TO THE FIRST TIN MACHINE ALBUM FREE ON YOU TUBE!
