Awesome work man. A question or two if I may as I am new to HA everything. I am on skyconnect stick atm on Win 11 VirtualBox environment. Usually have to unlpug - replug stick or remove and scan from device manager if starting Virtualbox as it does not pick up the stick by default. So considering SMLIGHT SLZB-06 and hoping it gets picked up without having to do this......? Can I simply copy the network over to the SMLIGHT SLZB-06 without re-pairing? Is there a way to backup my skyconnect stick network if I needed to go back even if I have to re-pair or not?

I would say that you have the best options for it to work, if both are configured in the same way (if the original is setup using the add-on setup the other using the add-on, if it's directly to zha/z2m, then connect the other one directly).

Was thinking to separate the Z2MQTT and thread eventually but it's been working OK for me with Z2MQTT. If SM L is able to handle both then I don't mind using it for both. I would need to remove the Skyconnect and add SM L right. They can't both be plugged in? I just got the SM L yesterday and waiting for POE adapter.

Hi There, this is a great video. Please help!! I have HA installed on my Synology NAS through Docker (Container Manager), and am looking to get Zigbee added, and the SLZB-06 seems the best way to go. Before I get one though, I was hoping you'd be able to point me in the right direction when it comes to set up, as I don't seem to have an Add-Ons section under settings in HA?
Hi, you are probably using a vanilla Home Assistant version, not HASSOS (Home Assistant Operation System), the vanilla version doesn't support addons, as it needs the HASS supervisor to manage that, and that is not part of vanilla Home Assistant. You should still be able to use the SLZB-06 for zigbee with ZHA, or you could setup Zigbee2MQTT into your NAS, if it can run docker, it should be able to run it, and then manually setup it to your home assistant.
I have a question, in the title and in the video I see it refers to the SMLIGHT SLZB-06 version, but then when you have to update the irmware you refer to the SMLIGHT SLZB-06p7 version, so I bought the SMLIGHT SLZB-06 version, I hope not I didn't do anything wrong. Hi, don't worry too much about it, they are different, but they only vary in the specific chipset they use, the formfactor and functionalities as kept the same for all the line of SLZB-06 products.

Hi, thank you. Sorry it's not possible, since the web interface it's build into the smlight firmware. You can active a web interface using esphome, but it won't have any of the features of the web interface on the main firmware. So, no easy way to update the firmware for the zigbee chip using esphome.
#slzb-06 I will use it for offices that are too far from the main home assistant, and have ethernet to extend the network range. A great Zigbee coordinator
each of them need their own zigbee2mqtt service (you can deploy it using docker), that's it, use the same Mqtt broker for all of them and the devices will appear on Home Assistant, no special configuration needed

Yes, you could use 1 as coordinator and 2 as routers, or use the 3 as coordinators with their own zigbee2mqtt instance
